The picture I took is inside the consultation room (or whatever they might call it). I had an appointment, came on time, and was greeted immediately. They offer a wide variety of beverages too (I think any alcohol might hinder my decision making process and I might accidentally buy everything here). They jewelry itself is very modern and fun. What an excellent experience! This was the first place my wife and I stopped in when looking for engagement rings. We didn't have an appointment when we stopped in, but Jeana was able to give us the full experience regardless. There was absolutely no pressure to buy a ring during our consultation and Jeana was extremely personable. Shortly after our consultation, I decided to move forward with purchasing a custom engagement ring and it couldn't have been easier. Jeana explained every step along the way, kept me in the loop, and the ring was completed in a timely fashion. My wife absolutely loves her engagement ring! First, I agree that Stephanie (the VP of sales) is great to work with and provides clear communication where others fell short before that. However, I'm so sorry to say that I actually wouldn't recommend getting any custom jewelry here. My partner and I both got engagement rings from here and spent a lot of money. Both rings have issues and we've had them less than three months, and noticed the issues pretty immediately. One ring has an extremely weird circle of build up under the stone as if something got trapped - and this happened maybe 4 days after I proposed. Pic attached. My diamond - a round cut in bezel setting - is loose in the setting and when I tap the top it's obvious. This has also been a problem from the beginning. I love it, so that's where the extra star is coming from, but it's loose. I'd recommend NOT buying a custom ring with them if you don't live within a reasonable distance to go back to fix whatever issues happen. Of course everyone wants to say 10/10 engagement ring experience and there are no issues, but had issues here that are completely worth the warning. read more

Marrow reset my grandmother's diamond that she wore for more than 60 years. Within five weeks of wearing it, my diamond fell out of the setting. Thankfully after crawling around on my hands and knees, I found my diamond and immediately contacted the stylist that worked on my project. First, I requested my appraisal (which was never provided to me after picking up my ring and was still not provided to me after requesting it) and was told that she was planning to have a meeting with their production team in a week to discuss this, which was unacceptable. Within a day I contacted the boutique and spoke with Alysse, the store manager who finally provided me with my appraisal so that I could insure my ring and advised me to bring in my loose diamond and setting. When I arrived at the boutique, rather than apologizing, Alysse went through a list of reasons for my stone falling out of the setting. Insinuating that I had bumped it, wore it swimming, and generally had not been careful with it. I explained to her how treasured the stone is to me as it has been in my family for generations, and that I do not wear it while cooking, showering, working out, or sleeping. After inspecting the setting, she concluded that there was nothing indicating damage that would have caused the stone to dislodge and asked to send it to their production team. A few days later, I was contacted by Alysse who let me know that the Marrow production team determined that my diamond "isn't perfectly round but the setting was made perfectly round", resulting in a gap between the stone and setting. This was incredibly frustrating and confusing as this should have been addressed multiple times during the production of my ring. From here I took my stone and empty setting to three other jewelers in San Diego to get another opinion. Unfortunately for Marrow, all three of them determined that there were no inconsistencies with the shape of my stone and instead, my setting had been cut completely incorrectly. After returning to Marrow with this information, I felt that there was absolutely no way that I could ever trust them to touch my diamond again and requested a full refund. I was then contacted by Steph, their VP of Sales, who was kind and fair in actually taking accountability and providing me the first genuine apology throughout this nightmare of an experience. Leading up to my conversation with their VP, Marrow neglected to provide any care or consideration for me or for a stone that has been passed through multiple generations of my family. Throughout the design and production process, I received no communication unless I reached out first. After receiving my ring, I was never provided with care instructions or an appraisal. And after my diamond fell out of the setting that they "custom made" to fit my stone, their production and store team repeatedly attempted to find ways to skirt accountability and put it back on me. I will never return to Marrow as a client and would caution anyone interested in resetting an heirloom piece with them. For years I dreamed of working with Marrow to create a piece that would represent my own marriage while also honoring the memory of my grandmother. Marrow has stolen that from me and now I am left with a loose diamond and an empty finger. read more

I surprised my now wife with a custom engagement ring from Marrow Fine, and I have nothing but positive things to say about the design and purchase process. I worked with Jillian in their Solana Beach location to pick out stones and a design that fit both myself, our relationship, and our love. Jillian was an absolute delight to work with. She was patient, down to Earth, and as curious as he was to see what colors and shapes they could combine to create a truly unique and awe-inspiring ring. From the initial design consultation to the pick up of the finalized ring, the entire Marrow Fine time was attentive, timely, and fantastic communicators. After the proposal, it only made sense to continue working with them when it came time to design my wife's wedding band as she is absolutely in love with her engagement ring. Her and I received the same fantastic service when it came to the custom design of her wedding bands as I did when designing her engagement ring. The only differences this time was that we worked with Annie in their new One Paseo location. We always felt heard and understood, and that our best interests were kept in heart. On both occasions, the Marrow Fine team was well aware of our budgets and always made sure the final product matched our vision and our desired price point. When it came time to design the wedding bands, my wife wanted to use heirloom jewelry from her Grandmother and Mom. The Marrow Fine team was extremely careful with the handling of her heirlooms, and very open and honest about the differences of using heirloom stones vs new stones and the benefits we would see in the use of new stones. I can not say enough amazing things about Marrow! They have the most amazing jewels and styles! My now fiance and I worked with Stef and she helped us design a custom bespoke ring using a diamond that was in a vintage setting that was not my style and it turned out AMAZING!
