I am writing this review because the owner just threw a tantrum on my girls review below. I made an appointment with Diamond Daughters, Sunday August 6th, with my then girlfriend April to see engagement rings. (I still have my email, you can check) The only reason why I selected this spot was because it was in the same building of a diamond dist. That I used in the past and all my friends used for custom jewelery. (shout out to Clair's who hooked up all my friends) anyways, I decided to check out this company because I checked their site and they had the styles I was looking for. The company is family owned, seemed nice. The grandma was asleep on the couch. (Adding this detail incase the owner wants to attack me) and yeah, we were looking for a 4ct lab grown diamond, they started with "whats your budget?" So already I had a negative feeling. My budget is my budget. Thats my business. I am interested in knowing your best price for what I am looking for. So unfortunately, they gave me this pricing: 7500, 8700 10k range for 4ct 8.5 for 3-1/2ct 7,8k range for 3 ct No financing no other value propositions. So I continued shopping and researching. End result, I found a place that sold me a 6ct for less than what they quoted me for a 3 ct. Same quality bigger size for less. The negative review is because of my disappointment in seeing their IG yesterday with a lot lower pricing that I wasn't offered. Which made me realize, maybe thats why they kept asking if I saw their social media? Then they just attacked my now fiancés review claiming she is fake. We definitely are not fake. We are just disappointed we were not offered honest pricing. Best of luck to you guys. You messed up twice. Adding to this because of the response below from the owners: I didn't feel slighted or insulted by your questions, I personally think it's a mistake to ask that and during my time with you... O clearly stated its not about the price its about making a smart purchase. If what we wanted cost 20k then thats what it is, and thats the price we would pay. But thats my opinion thats all. We are disappointed because we asked for a range in pricing and basically we didn't end up working with you because we kept looking. The truth, I was planning on coming back but I found better pricing. It happens no big deal. I still would have came back because I did like you guys. My real disappointment is how you responded to April's review implying she was lying. That was how you decided to respond and that's whats disappointing. Also, The pricing we got for the ring we purchased was at the same time you quoted me. We got our price two months earlier but they were not local to us. Thats why we kept shopping. So you still were not the best price at the time and thats what lead us to another place. So your explanation for market pricing would not be the reason we got different pricing. I had an odd experience with Diamond Daughters. I initially really liked my interaction with Sahar as she was very accommodating; she answered all my questions patiently in a friendly manner and squeezed us in for a complimentary consultation last minute. However my experience with Ronit was not that great. Coming from a technical background, I like to make judgements not just by eye but also from logical reasoning. Diamonds look shiny to us because of how it refracts light in different angles. For it to shine the most without loosing light, it needs to be cut in certain proportions; it's just how optics work. That doesn't mean every diamond that gets cut this way will look shiny as there are other factors that contributes to its brilliance. That's when you need to evaluate it with other tools and see it with your eyes. When I came in and saw a few stones, I saw one that met my criteria of 4Cs and proportions. But when I saw how it was cut with a magnifying glass, it wasn't cut very well, at least, not to my liking. This is the process of selection I was referring to earlier - filtering out the ones that don't meet your criteria on paper, then looking at them in person and evaluating them. So after my consultation I texted Sahar and asked if they could find me stones that met my criteria and a few minutes later they wanted to talk with me on the phone. Ronit was on the line and she went off telling me that I was wrong and that she's been in the diamond industry her whole life and what I'm doing is probably to profit someone else. She seemed to think the proportions on certs was the only way I was going to shop, as she said that a diamond with exact proportions I want may not even look great. So I made it clear that it's just an initial filtering process for me. Told her of course I agree with her that there's a lot of other factors to consider and that stones should also be judged in sight. Then she asked what I thought about the stone that I saw in person and I told her it looked great on paper but I didn't like the cut quality. She refutes back: "but it's an excellent cut on the cert." I told her, yes it does but the cut didn't meet my standards and cuts can vary even under the same grading. But she kept saying the cert said excellent cut and I was wrong. Hypocritical much?? I thought we just agreed that certs weren't everything and it should also be evaluated individually in person. Boggled my mind how irrational the argument was. On top of that, she said I would need to give them a non-refundable deposit for them to bring in a stone that I would want to see. At that point I was out and I found a jeweler who offered similar prices without asking for such deposits. Maybe I would've been less bothered if she communicated her point more respectfully or reasonably. Instead most of her explanation was that she "knows because she's been in the industry her whole life" and tried pushing me into what she believed without much back-up. I still give extra stars for the nice interaction I initially had and for the variety of stones they offer - it's rare to find a place that offers natural & lab grown diamonds as well as moissanites. read more
