I had been looking for a beautiful new entry door for some time and finally found it at Cambridge, "The Best Little Door House in Texas". From the first time I sat down with the owner, Michael Stinson, to discuss the door, I knew this was the company I wanted to work with to build and install my new door. This is an owner and a company of integrity, expertise, and over 30 years of experience in building doors and windows. Michael is a perfectionist and expects nothing less of his people who build and do the installations. I was given a tour of the work rooms where they do their "magic" to assemble these beautiful doors, all the way from the planks of wood with the bark still intact to the gorgeous finished product. It was amazing. The gentleman who builds, sands and finishes the doors, Adolfo, is an unbelievable woodworking artist . Mario and Mario II were experts installing the door, which requires a lot of skill and is a messy job, but my foyer was as clean when they left as when they came, maybe cleaner. They cleaned up every speck, super nice men. There are so many beautiful doors to choose from, it's difficult to choose, not only the door, but the hardware as well; however, Michael is an expert in helping you choose the perfect door and hardware to match the style and exterior of your home. I rarely review companies, but this company is too amazing not to. After all, your front door is like the elegant jewelry of your home. I looked at a lot of door companies in Houston; Cambridge Doors and Windows far surpassed all of them in quality, expertise, and customer service from start to the finished install. It is really beautiful. The installations were all perfect and comprehensive. The Cambridge crew did a great job on everything: professional, great work, on time, and neat. Diana coordinated the installations and kept us well informed at all stages. One small hiccup is being resolved as I write this. They don't have a big crew so we had to be a bit flexible on scheduling, but they show up when they say they will and work hard the whole time. I reached out to Tim Lewis via phone call (I don't think the linked website works anymore) to have him quote my parent's house for a full window replacement and a 8' full pane door replacement. Not only did Lewis Windows & Doors come in much cheaper than the other bigger guys, they also quoted us using a superior product. Not only that, the crew that Tim brings along are all professionals and they all work efficiently and safely. There is no sketchy guess work and there are no close calls. Everything is measured twice, maybe even three times, and cut once. The whole house was also cleaned post window install, so the only evidence that any work had been done was the new windows and door, new caulking, and dust free window sills. Tim and his team did such a good job that I still remember install day and interacting with Tim even though we worked with him roughly two years ago. When we quoted with Tim Lewis, he strongly recommended the NT Windows (North Texas Windows) product line along with an Amish made door (I forgot the brand name) and multiple years later, we are still impressed. The windows and new door keep noise and heat out--and Yes the difference is definitely noticeable.
