AHS originally sent another company (SDL) evaluate my water heater which was leaking, but I did not feel comfortable using them because of their lackluster reviews and 2 star rating. In addition, they wanted to charge me over $1,080 to supposedly bring me up to code. This was in addition to what the warranty company was paying (I.e. water heater plus labor) them to install the water heater. For example, they wanted to charge me $150 for a drip pan which probably costs $30. As a result, I did my own research and found Mars. After discussing the situation with Adam, I felt really good about the company and decided to hire them to install the new water heater. I utilized Mars Plumbing Services on Friday, June 5th. I had a wonderful experience; therefore, I would highly recommend them. Les called me at 9A to notify me that he was enroute and that he would arrive at my house at 1030A. Les and Giovanny actually arrived 30 minutes early. Les did a excellent job of explaining things in layman's terms and keeping me informed of their progress every step of the way. They removed the leaky water heater and installed a brand new Bradford and White Defender water heater. Les also educated me on how to care for the water heater thereby possibly increasing its longevity. They were very professional! I had set an appointment for Mars Services to clean our vents. Long story short, i was told they would be at our home between 8 and 8:30am. They showed up at 11:00am. Had taken the day off work and had other plans so not a good start for me, personally speaking. This however is no reflection on Scott the technician. Scott did a great job, very professional, pleasant, kept areas cleaned up as he went through the house. Scott apologized a number of times for being late. I told him "no worries, it's not your fault" and it's not. I'm just disappointed in how the schedule worked out and it should be addressed starting at the top. I realize issues arise but I was not even given a phone call. A company can be successful but poor scheduling and the lack of communication can deplete the success far quicker than what it took to get to the present level. If Mars needs to hire more technicians, hirer them, get guys like Scott some help. Yep, you'll have to spend more money but you'll make more in the long run having people there on time, a job done well because there was no pressure to finish and move on to the next one. I am a firm believer in under promising and over delivering, trust me, it's a successful path. I am happy with the work and Scott the technician but if you schedule a service be firm and hold them to it. I'll schedule future services with them and there won't be a scheduling conflict the next time. read more

I would give Mars Services 6 stars if I could. These guys are incredible. I started a demo on an old 1931 house and quickly realized I had a huge mess on my hands. Sheetrock on plaster. Everything broke off in small pieces and weighed a ton. I was running out of ground space in my back yard which then also made it difficult to even get back there to haul off. It would taken me days to haul it off in both load side and labor. I found out Mars Services offers construction/demo pickup, so I called and setup a time. Andy and a two man team (great dudes, very nice and professional) show up with shovels, wheel barrels and smiles on their faces and made short work of this huge mess. Within 45 min to an hour of arriving they had completely filled the trailer. They hauled that off and came back to finish the job with an equally sized load. Total weight of everything hauled off was about 4.3 tons. It was unbelievable how fast they accomplished this task. Not only that, with all the plaster I thought my yard would never look they same. It looked like they combed it when they were done. Incredible. My water heater had been leaking for an unknown amount of time. On Monday I did a Google search for plumbers and a Home Advisor search. I received my fist response from Mars through Yelp. Adam the master plumber called and then arrived at my house 45 minutes later. I considered changing to a tankless or replacing with another tank. I received a fair bid for both options. Adam was very nice and informative and explained the difference between the two so I could make an informed decision. After getting two more bids from other companies I called Adam back and hired Mars for the job. He was able to do the job on Wednesday as I requested. He sent Les to install the tank. Les was very nice to have as a plumber. He explained what he was going to do and when he was finished he told what to do to maintain the tank and how to adjust the heat. During the time Les was working on the tank Adam showed up. He listened to my concerns regarding the damp drywall and wood the tank was sitting on and accommodated my request. I highly recommend Mars especially Adam and Les. Thanks Mars for two great employees. I will definitely recommend to friends and neighbors. read more

Updated: Adam reached out to me and apologized for the inconvenience. The technician the swift and resolved my issue. I appreciate the mistake being acknowledged and them making it right. THEY NEVER SHOWED UP!!! I made an appointment with this company during the middle of a 5-day 100°+ heat wave and they never showed up. I spoke to someone over the phone, told them what my problem was, was given a quote, and confirmed a window of time. I even called to confirm my appointment and get a closer window of time the day of the appointment to see if I could get a better idea of when someone was coming. I spoke to a woman who took my information again and was told I would receive a call back confirming the appointment and the technician would call me when they were 30 minutes away. I never heard back. Not sure where my information went or why I was never called back for my appointment but I'm highly disappointed in this company especially after reading so many positive reviews. Now I'm stuck with trying to find another company. This is extremely inconvenient and uncomfortable for me. I would not recommend. read more

My daughter has been concerned about the inefficiency of her dryer and air vents within an older beautiful home she knew she needed her ducts cleaned out. The first service gave her one price and then when the servicemen arrived they wanted to double the price she was given. She dismissed them but still the problem remained until she called Mars Services and their serviceman, Chris, arrived and got busy immediately. He cleaned out all of the clogged up vents, was efficient and steady until the job was accomplished. He showed us how much gunk was plugging up the vents probably for years, and cleaned them so well we even seem to breathe easier. When he was done, the price was just what they proposed when my daughter called. Needless to say, she is completely satisfied and as a father I am happy when my daughter is happy. Mars Plumbing did a great job with a recurring issue not related to their service or workmanship. Rodents had chewed through my PEX pipe in the attic 4 different locations, over a two week period. They made 4 trips to accommodate usually same day service one call was around 4PM on Friday afternoon. Some companies would have not responded to the call that close to the end of the day. Service techs are professional, talented and do not waste time on the job, they worked the entire time they were here and completed each service appointment and cleaned up after. Insulated the pipes to prevent easy access for the rodents to chew adjacent piping. Thank you Mars Plumbing for taking care of your customers. I needed some electrical work and plumbing work done around an outdoor fireplace. First, I placed the project on Yelp on Dec 24th and within minutes I had a reply from someone - and spoke to a live person within minutes of that. Second, they were able to schedule me for the 28th. Third, and most importantly, Brandon (plumber) and Eric (electrician) were simply outstanding! Not only did they call me first thing in the morning to tell me when they would be arriving, but once they arrived, each was also incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. They were able to quickly assess the situation, give me a quote, and perform the work on the spot. In summary, just an outstanding experience with Mars. There will be no "quoting" next time. RUDE AND VERY PROFESSIONAL..Even after attempting to hire them after all the reviews I have read I just needed my toilet unclogged never got a call back I waited 3 days before calling ROTOR ROOTERS WHICH BY THE WAY TOTALLY RECOMEND!!!!! They got 5 stars any ways the lady was super rude the back ground was so unperfessional you can hear them getting onto an employee something about they owed someone money. Derick came out to do our water heater quote after another company told me we needed a new water heater, he looked at the pipes and found out my water heater was just fine but instead I needed to replumb the house to bring my hot water line from 1/2 to 3/4, we scheduled the service and they were done in roughly 7ish hours, he did great and we are very happy to have equal pressure through our our whole home now, Mars is the go to company for all things home related for a fair and honest experience. Had my Counter tops refinished by these guys! They were in terrible shape after I attempted a DIY project on my own to do them a few years ago (utilizing a Gianni Kit) - needless to say my job was less than desirable. After several bids, I hired Mars to swap out my old FPE "fire starter" panel In our new house. Jason gave me bid and scope of work that were very clear. The crew showed up on time and began work. As with many jobs, they did run into a few issues, but they stayed and made sure the job was done correctly.
