I was a customer of Marshall Alarm for over 15 years. This company was engaged for alarm monitoring for an annual fee. I found a reputable alarm company to monitor the system for far less money per month. I changed alarm companies and I either needed the code that Marshall alarm entered into the system when I engaged them 15 years ago or I needed them to restore the system back to the factory settings as it was prior to using their service. I was told that neither could be accomplished remotely due to the age of the equipment and a service call to my home would be required at the cost of $200. Mr. Marshall finally reduced that cost to $139. I was also told that the new company would have the same problem trying to remotely program the system and the new company would not be able to monitor my system. I paid Marshall Alarm $139 for a 5 minute service call. The technician punched in a few numbers on the key paid and left. The new company out of California had no trouble remotely programming the system from their office. My old alarm system is working as well as it did when Marshall Alarm was the monitoring company. It is disconcerting that I would be charged a large fee in order to change alarm monitoring companies. Buyer beware, alarm companies keep raising their monitoring prices and when you shop and find a much lower price for the same service, they charge huge fees to get your own equipment back to operating mode. Great customer service from start to finish. The whole staff, especially Debbie was extremely helpful and knowledgable and easy to work with. They are responsive, always follow up and explain everything to their customers. Our installation by Marshall Jr. was seamless. We contacted Marshall Alarm when we needed to update our 10 year + alarm system. We had contacted some of the bigger commercial companies and found them really expensive and impersonal. Debbie responded promptly and discussed our needs and wants. She did not try to "oversell" us; she simply explained the options and let us make our own decision. She was attentive and detailed answering all of our questions. The overall cost of the update and the monthly monitoring were very reasonable. MJ did the installation; he was very respectful of our home and did an outstanding job of installing the new equipment and showing us how to operate it. He made sure everything was working perfectly and didn't leave until we were completely satisfied. We had a wonderful experience with Debbie, Mj and the rest of the team. I called Marshall Alarm to inquire about having an alarm system installed in my home. At first they were very nice and an appointment was set. After hanging up about 5 minutes later I got a call back from them asking where I lived. As I explained my location you could here the representative, Debbie Gambini looking me up on mapquest because she stated she couldn't find my location. Once she found my location the tone of the conversation changed. Debbie Gambini became rude and obnoxious, stating they only cater to upscale clientele and only offer topnotch service and that I would be better off going to ADT. I was stunned by the rudeness. I live in a typical middle class neighborhood and was recommended by someone who has Marshall's system just down the block from me. Apparently nor my house or my money was good enough for Marshall Alarm Systems. I have never encountered such blatant, rude and obnoxious behavior. I have since found a very good alarm company for less money and am very happy with the service. I have a home in Pleasantville N.Y. and was looking for a local company that would upgrade my perimeter as well as motion detector interior alarm system. Marshall Alarms was the third company I looked into and was impressed with their response. The next day I had two employees show up and gave me an estimate, as well as recommendations for carbon monoxide and fire detectors. The work was done professionally and at a competitive price. The owner Marshall, who by the way bore a striking resemblance to the singer Jerry Vale, came by after the work was complete to follow up and answer any questions I might have. I would recommend Marshall Alarms to anyone looking for complete and/or updated systems and I'm glad I looked into them. read more
