I just used Clover to repair an a/c unit which had suddenly stopped working. They were extremely responsive, had a technician at my house within an hour and 15 minutes (despite being their busiest time of the year) and fixed the problem with in an hour. The technician, who was professional and friendly identified the problem, explained how he was going to fix it and what it would cost before he proceeded. Relatively and literally very expensive: we did not go beyond getting an estimate. They may be great plumbers but the quote we got, and the cost of removing some wallboard to inspect a leak was crazy expensive - won't use them again. Specifics: $850 for removing piece of wallboard to expose leak and write estimate - which was $2,700 to repair leak. Another plumber charged $350 for the one hour repair. read more

Our a/c stopped working. Clover came right away, but not before requiring our credit card information first. The tech determined that all we needed was some freon. After spending perhaps 10-15 minutes putting in the freon, the tech left and we didn't receive an itemized bill. Actually, we didn't receive any invoice, statement or bill. We saw that the cost of the service visit was over $1200(!) so we requested an itemized statement. It seems that our a/c unit took just 3 pounds of freon. Even at $100/lb, our $1200 bill makes no sense. Add in the fact that our tech was either in the bathroom or on the phone for almost the entire visit, and it makes even less sense. We called the company to discuss the bill and they said that it didn't matter how much freon they provided. The job has just one price! Of course, this is absurd. We recently contracted with Clover to install a ductless air conditioning and heating system in our house. We have a big (three story) old house with old fashioned radiators for heat and a ducted AC system was just not going to work in our house. Clover was the only one of three companies we got bids from that would even bid on putting in a ductless AC system that covers the entire house. Clover took care of all the permits, coordinated with the electrician and the inspectors. The Mitsubishi system is quiet, fast and efficient. Anthony, the owner, is very responsive, was concerned that everything was done right and that it looked good. He is a pleasure to work and his crew is great - very neat, quiet and professional. When we call Clover, we can be confident of quick service, trustworthiness, dependability and a job expertly done. It can be nerve-wracking to have people you don't know working in your home, a place of safety for your family. Clover's employees have proven themselves honest, good people. We felt fully at ease leaving our home intermittently during the three week period Clover was installing new HVAC units. It was relieving to feel comfortable running errands as needed, without concern for the security of our home or belongings. On another occasion, we called Clover Comfort for emergency assistance with a broken pipe. We trust Clover so completely that we felt confident providing them with access to our home as we left for a cross-country trip. For jobs that require permits, Anthony and those at the Clover office are knowledgeable and skilled in obtaining proper documentation. Hiring Clover, we can rest assured all legalities of jobs will be addressed quickly and thoroughly. Clover's cleanliness during jobs is remarkable. Any time outside of hours that Clover was actively working at our home, the house was left immaculate. After hours, we joked that it felt as if there was no construction going on during the multi-week installation of a new HVAC system in our home. As parents of a toddler, it was incredibly helpful that Clover did not leave tools, equipment, drop cloths or dust when they left each night. Don't hesitate in hiring this contractor. You may end up spending a little more than you would using another company, but Clover is well worth the cost. Completely dumbfounded how a company stays in business with the way they operate. We made an appointment with Clover to have our entire HVAC system re done. We weren't sure if we needed geo thermal or just a replacement with like/kind. The man, Anthony, arrived after they canceled three times, but he seemed to know what to do. We spent hours reviewing the job and he said he would come back with a good/better/best powerpoint. He said he would do an energy survey on the house, and we were eager to move forward. We just got a call saying he can't come, he has too many "service calls". Very odd, because we have a huge job here for the right company. Extremely unprofessional to send someone to waste our time. Cancel meetings and never even give us a quote! I would definitely NOT recommend this company, not reliable at all read more

I was so happy with Anthony and his whole team. They did a big job on my old house in September of this year. They showed up in masks and respected space and distance, handling a difficult time with ease and kindness. They were always on time, the communication was wonderful (with Anthony, and all of his staff), and when I changed my mind on something at the last minute they rolled with it. They were so neat, and friendly, and the job was done on time! Once the job was completed Anthony followed up with me, unsolicited, to check on how it was all going. Do not use this company, they came to my business, they were there for less than an hour, changed a low voltage transformer that cost less than $100 and charged me almost $900, I spoke to two other heating companies and they both told me I was ROBBED!!! I understand we all want to make a buck but that's highway robbery!!! Stay clear!!! read more

Do NOT use Clover for your A/C or heating needs. We enlisted their services four years ago and spent over $20k to install a complete ductless system, and it has NEVER worked properly. We are beyond frustrated since they have come out for "repairs" at least SIXTEEN times, and it has never been repaired! Anthony, the owner, initially listened (in the first year), but now will not even return our calls, despite us always being cordial and polite. We finally had to hire another local AC expert who came same-day and actually REPAIRED what were leaks due to improper installation from the very beginning! We were so incredibly disappointed, not only in the service level, but Anthony's lack of response or any offer for reparations. In fact, they only agreed to send someone after weeks of requests AND if we PRE-paid $150. This was "still no guarantee of diagnosis nor repair." Ultimately, after 16 visits from Clover, it never functioned properly. Yet, after ONE visit from Sila, it was repaired correctly and operates properly. read more

Doing business with Clover Heating and Cooling (out of Sleepy Hollow, NY) has been truly a terrible experience. A few years ago they sold my husband four AC units - at a cost of more than $20K - that were not spec'd out correctly for our home. As a result, every season since we have had to have them serviced to provide AC in the summer and heating in the winter. As if the constant need for repairs wasn't enough, Clover's service staff was always incapable of fixing the units, costing us a tremendous amount of money and time. Clover's staff was not only incapable of repairing our units - due to poor training and/or lack of experience - but a different person was sent each time. Among Clover's many problems, this high turnover of service personnel was a true indication of its poor management. As a result of the above, we finally - and very belatedly - started working with a different heating/cooling company. The defective units that Clover sold us still do not work properly, but at least our current heating/cooling provider always knows how to fix the problem at hand. Whatever you do, please do not use Clover. Not only are they incapable of providing dependable, professional service, they are also dishonest and will take advantage of whatever sales or repair need you may have. read more

I was a customer for 7 years and then in August after a visit from there technician to conduct the routine yearly maintenance they jacked my price up by over 50%. I was then quoted an estimate of additional work to be completed for over $3,000. When I asked for a breakdown of the work I got a visit from the owner who came to the meeting with no documentation whatsoever. I got a second opinion from a plumber friend of mine and had some of the work completed for about 30% of the price they quoted. If this is how they treat a long term customer, then all they care about is the money. I also found them to be quite argumentative and unprofessional when I wasn't going to have the said estimated work scheduled. In my opinion stay away, I had no problem until I knew they were shafting me for work to be completed. They're a bunch of schisters who are extremely unprofessional. read more

I highly recommend Clover Comfort they were quick to diagnose my issue and get my house cool again on one of the hottest days this summer. We came home from vacation to our central AC not working at all. They actually got us in by the end of the day, got the AC working again by night time and by the next morning our AC was completely running as it does, keeping up with the crazy summer heatwave. I would highly recommend Clover Comfort. I called them for a quote to replace my 1970's central air system. They offered an alternative ductless mini-split system, which turned out to be much better. Now we only heat & cool the rooms that need it when we need it and the whole family is more comfortable and happy. This also reduced my overall heating and cooling costs by at least 20%.
