If you are just looking for something general you'll visit the mall for a department store, or a place like Famous Footwear. This doesn't have a place in the shoe store landscape. For a change, I was looking for someone to do alterations on a pair of jeans (at a great discount at Nordstrom's sale, btw) without forcing me to drive all the way to Natick - twice - to take advantage of a free service at Nordstrom. You understand, a HUGE discount on the perfect pair of jeans, that pooled at least 5 inches around my feet every time I tried them on, no matter what shoes I tried with them. Finding someone to do alterations in short order, at a reasonable price, and follow the directions? I was 75% sure I had a long trip up to Rt. 9 in my immediate future. And a return trip to pick them up. I did the legwork- went to the googlers, found some names, stalked their reviews here on Yelp, and then light dawned over marblehead - my drycleaner (who was always 100%) had Alterations listed on their website. What to lose? Dropped them off, expecting a week for return, got the text TWO DAYS LATER that they were ready for pickup, and if it hadn't snowed a foot the next day . . . The jeans were done for a more than reasonable cost. The hem is perfect. The customer service at the store in the Hingham Shipyard was off the charts, as usual. I didn't have to pack a lunch and roadtrip up to Route 9. Everything fell into place perfectly, and Dependable was . . .more than dependable.

With the amount of money that they're charging their customers, I don't understand how it's a sustainable business model. First appointment was $582.06 (two hair products purchased so let's say $500) + $100 tip. Explanation for an appointment that is more than I spent going to the best salons in NYC was the hair color correction + cut but next time would be around $220-230 (assumed color + cut + dry, just without the correction excuse). Second appointment was just a partial highlight, root color and some other color - no cut and they sent me home with wet hair for $281, not including tip. I told the girl at the front desk that between two appointments - taking out products totaled $600 + 281 =$881.00 or $440 an appointment, which is outrageous and I'll never go back. The salon should never allow stylists to gauge their clients. So many could never afford this so I help this review gives future customers a chance to lock in a price before booking an appointment.

The shopping center includes many other places surrounding the complex including a Marshalls, Stop&Shop, 99 Restaurant and many other spots, making this area a good destination. There is also Lowe's, Michaels, and Staples right down the road too. This shopping center includes more of the "higher end" type places, but also regular national retailers. It's honestly a good combination that can be attractive to all shoppers. Talbots, CVS, Old Navy, Ulta, and Bed Bath & Beyond just to name a few. Many restaurants surround the complex including Wahlburger's, AlmaNove, Panera, Menchie's (my personal favorite), BeerWorks and more. Two grocery stores, Trader Joe's and The Fresh Market are also both inside the complex. A movie theatre, Patriot Cinema 6 is also inside the complex. Not the most options around; however, a good assortment of places to go. Overall, I'd definitely come back here, it would just be better if all the places to shop in Hingham were closer together for convenience (Derby Street and here); however, I guess I shouldn't complain since that could cause traffic nightmares. Overall, it's nice and deserves a sold 3 stars.

I started a return on their website and learned that $10 would be deducted from my refund. Wait a minute. They failed to properly package an expensive ceramic item, and I am now expected to pay $10 for the privilege of receiving a box of ceramic shards?? So I called their customer service and spoke to a representative who kept interrupting me. Her best option was for me to take the box of shards and stand in line at the post office to return it. I stood firm; I'm not doing that. After a lengthy standstill, the representative FINALLY made the sensible choice to issue me a full refund. I hope others don't have to jump through flaming hoops to likewise receive a full refund when orders arrive smashed and damaged. Needless to say, I will never order from Coldwater Creek again.
