Checkout was easy, using the self-service lanes. Didn't type in any information for purchase, but Walmart knew I was a Walmart+ member (probably through the credit card). It's clean and bright and well organized and the clientele are a grade higher. They also have a well paved, well laid out, and relatively spacious parking lot for their huge customer base. We avoid visiting any Walmart on the weekends as they are always very crowded then, and we tend to come at quieter weekday times because we can. Today, wife saw some pie crusts that were $2 cheaper than the same exact product at Jewel. We also pick up bread and some grocery items on occasion here. Other visits have included gardening related items or kiddo stuff. I have tried some of their house brand cough syrups in the past but found they are not the quality and effectiveness of the brand name equivalents, so you get what you pay for on some of the pharmacy items anyway. Overall, a very nice Walmart Supercenter to have nearby, and thumbs up!

When I came in I headed toward the order pickup section. When I arrived at the "self pickup", nothing made sense. I didn't have anything that corresponded to the number system they had so I didn't know where the heck to pick up my item. Their site didn't indicate they offered curbside pickup (I checked my email just in case I'd misunderstood how I was to pick it up). I called and was on hold about six minutes because no one ever picked up. (There were 20+ people in line and I didn't want to wait around there just to be told to go elsewhere; what's the point of pickup if not to be quick?) Finally I found an associate not behind a cash register and he went to get my order, which was in the back and not at all in correspondence to the system they had out on the floor. I guess maybe they expect people to stand in line? But that doesn't make sense when their pickup system says you should check your email to pick up your item. I don't know.

The Target at Arlington Heights is not my go-to Target stores, but I have been there twice…read morerecently, and I was happy both times. The first time I was there picking up a detergent that's out of stock at the other Target stores close by my home. I went in to also pick up a few things, and noticed that the layout of the produce department was more spacious, modern, and pleasing looking than the other Target stores. It functions well and I like it. The second time was a simple incident, a special shout out to two friendly employees who went above and beyond for me! I was going to pick up a monthly freebie from the "Target 360" app, which was a Super Mario Mushroom Plush Clip-On valued at $8.99. I received the app for free as a promotion from Target. As I checked that this item was only in stock at Arlington Heights at the time, I went to this Target to pick it up. Since I was not familiar with the layout of this store, I asked the staff named Milo (who's in charge of the self-checkout area) about where to find the item. It was a Sunday and the store was super busy. He still kindly checked for me. But his phone showed that they didn't have stock, and he checked that the closest store with stock was Palatine. I wanted to double check at the department while I was there. Milo checked that if they had the item, it would be at BB8. When he didn't know where that was, he even checked with another cashier for me. When I was in the back area where BB8 was supposed to be at. A staff named Anna was organizing other items in the area. I asked her, she checked that the item was out of stock, but she insisted to go to the back room to check. She came out shortly after with the Super Mario Mushroom Plush Clip-On! With a smile on her face, she asked me if that's the item that I was looking for. Yay, thank you for saving me a trip to another store. Anna said that the items just arrived and they would put them out the next day. Anna is a group leader, she definitely delivers great customer service! On my way out, I purchased another item and told Milo about the situation, just in case he would encounter another customer like me, haha. I thanked him and he was happy that I got the freebie.

There isn't anyone around to provide help if you need it. This time was no different. The only workers we saw were manning the cash registers. If you know what you want, know they have it in stock, and have a general idea of the layout of the store, I'm sure you can find what you need. In cases like ours where we are not regulars and don't know the floor layout, finding items isn't easy and there is no one there to help you. Wayfair is a disaster. I ordered four things and all four orders were screwed up…read more 1) Desk arrived and was assembled by tech who said some pieces were broken and had to be ordered. Would take more than a week. A week came and went. Replacement parts never arrived. Called Wayfair who said parts won't be here for another 10 days -- so three weeks to get replacement parts! And who knows if they will even arrive then. 2). Ordered a filing cabinet. Arrived with a huge dent. Called Wayfair and was told I had to bring it to FedEx myself. 3). Ordered a rug pad 10x14. Got a pad that's much bigger. Still waiting for it to be picked up by Wayfair. 4). Ordered a replacement rug pad. Told the guy I needed it by Tuesday. He swore to me it would be here.
