They have great selection as a store. However the service? Oof. The cashier gives you attitude when you say no to signing up for their credit card and on another incident, I had to pay cash- they charged me an item worth 30$ extra. I noticed after i had left and looked at my receipt. Just be careful if you ever come here. read more

Not my favourite TJ Maxx store. The building itself is nice, it is brighter than some of the older locations. It was added when they tore down most of Randhurst to build Randhurst Village (lifestyle mall) and when it opened they had some nice stuff for the first couple years. Now, not so much. It may be undersupplied. I am not sure what the sales numbers are, but at times the place seems busy. Last time I stopped by looking for conditioner. I found some running socks (Although I cannot run now, I can think about it) I wanted to buy , but half of them were missing. I asked if they could take money off because I was only getting half the socks. The manager assured me they were usually twice the price and they were reduced because the socks were missing. I thought this was odd because usually such merchandise is marked" as is" or something to that effect. He claimed this was not the case. So fine, I got them. (I think I would almost be better off never having worked in retail sometimes, because I really did not believe him.) Since it is my tendency to stop at TJ Maxx to look for hair products if I am nearby, I went to the Palatine store a few days later and found all six pairs of socks marked down to the same price I paid for three at Randhurst. You would think they could scan the tag with a markdown gun and figure this out, but then again, they could just tell the customer something to get rid of them. It's not a lot of money ($4.50) , but I hate to be overcharged. It is my pet peeve. Unfortunately, I had already washed the set of three socks. The manager also seemed like a stiff, humourless type that would not be helpful, so I did not bother going back. I found the package in the recycling though, and had the receipts. The store is OK, but the Palatine and Lake Zurich stores are better. I will still stop by occasionally though, because I love the prices, and I am always looking for hair products. read more

I wasn't overly impressed with the store. It was clean and the aisles were free of clutter. Women's clothing seemed to be rather picked over and home decor was too pricey for me. I took 5 items to the dressing room to try on. The woman in front of me (who had 1 item to try on) was helped right away. Once she was helped a customer and her baby came out of the fitting room. The fitting room attendant immediately became distracted by the baby and was 'ooo-ing' and 'aaaah-ing' over him; meanwhile I'm still waiting to be given a number to take back to the fitting room. Ugh! This employee (she was a lot older) saw me standing there with my arms full and proceeded to spend way too much time enamored with a baby. The employee even apologized for taking so long; obviously she knew she was lolly-gagging and ignoring me. I left the fitting room and handed my clothing over to a much friendlier employee; one who seemed to be enjoying her day and was able to do her job. At the check-out counter my cashier did nothing but complain. Complained about how she was having to continually bend over and that she was just 'tired of it' because her body was sore. She was also verbally complaining about how the security tags for the clothing were overflowing underneath the counter...yadda, yadda. Pretty sure she could have emptied these herself, but it didn't sound like it was 'her job' to do so. I don't want a cashier to be seeking sympathy from me because she's having a bad day. You know those people who complain out loud and like to draw attention to themselves? This was her. I like to get in a store and get out. I'd like to have a friendly and attentive experience in the fitting room and not hear a whiny employee complain throughout my entire transaction. read more

Decent TJ Maxx in a great location. It's located in Randhurst Village with tons of other great stores. My favorite thing about it, is that the Home Decor section is huge compared to other ones I have been to. There is usually lots of staff and they are very helpful. The only negative is that the clothing section is not as organized and that can make it a little frustrating. read more

I love stores like this. I'm happy to have one so close to home! It's a bit of a hunt though. So be ready to spend some time looking through the racks to find a gem. The shoe selection is very good. I almost leave every time with a pair of shoes! I have to avoiding going to that section haha. It's a very large store, very clean too. They do a good job keeping up with having it organized. Larger, newer TJ post Randhurst upgrade. Generally large selection of merchandise but can be cluttered and messy as a result. Small number of associates on the floor to be able to help. Today there was an insane amount of housewares mark downs which was great but much of the items in that section were dysfunctional or broken. Register associates were nice today, potentially seasonal but the usual ones are extremely rude. They gossip amongst themselves in their language and absolutely despise you when you ask to speak to the manager. At times they've flat out refused to call the manager over. Great finds though, just saw a Woodwick large holiday candle for $10, what a steal! Hope to get the holiday markdowns in January! read more

It's big, it's bright and I usually find what I'm looking for! Just to prove to you, naysayers, I looked online and found the exact dress (Laundry by Shelli Segal) selling for $245. This new location seems to be huge and is ever changing. There are many more choices than at many locations near by. The quality isnt good if you find brandless cheaply made things, but if you are looking for a name brands at a bargain price, this is the perfect place. Usually it's perfect for everyday and work work clothes, I have close purchased a nice Calvin Klein suit here and nice shoes. Oooh and if you are looking for good workout clothes, like underarmous, adidas, nike, puma, this is the place! Ive purchased underarmour for under $30! You try finding such a bargain at an athletic store! I love to find nice shoes here. I've gotten very expensive leather (yes real leather) booties for $35! I quite liked this location. I was in between doctor appointments and had to kill some time so I popped in really quick. They had a very nice, well laid out purse section. I think I was on a mission to just look at purses so I didn't look at a lot of the clothing -I did notice it just seemed bright, open and well laid out. It seems that some TJ Maxx locations are older and seem a little dingy -but this one seemed to be one of the more remodeled stores that had a nicer vibe to it. That said, it was a good location to measure against other locations -I find I liked these "newer", remodeled stores. The selection is a bit more organized. read more

This TJ definitely has some interesting finds in comparison to the other locations. The prices are fair and there seems to be many more high end items at this one. With that being said, the staff doesn't seem to go out of their way to ask if you need help, how you're doing, or really anything of that nature. This location also seems more messy and disorganized than most. read more

I love this store they always have great stuff. However the lines are usually very long whenever I'm there. Also some of the items are damaged that is why they are cheaper so you need to make sure you check whatever item you're going to buy. read more

They have problems with pricing sometimes. I've seen exact same items but with different price tags. When I asked floor employee, she was totally clueless and not that helpful. I've been to other locations of Tj Maxx/Marshall and their employees are not exactly the best. I've also learned that you need to really inspect the stuff because some of clothes have slight imperfections like the uneven sewing. Merchandise that passed quality control but would not be sold at places like Macy's due to imperfections. A lot of times you get what you pay for. read more

The hours listed on the Yelp app and on Google Maps are both wrong. I drove 15 minutes to find the doors locked and closed when it stated it closes much later on both websites. They have a very satisfying selection of workout clothing with various colors and styles. I recently have started exercising in group classes and wanting to look on point without going broke was a goal of mine. I found some very flattering fitted tank tops for $10 and awesome workout leggings for $20 (and they were Nike). I recently spent over $100 on ONE pair of leggings at a name brand store and am now beginning to regret not having come here first! I will be back here for all of my future athletic clothing needs. I asked the cashier if they can discount it because of the rip but she asked KATHERINE and she was super rude!!!! She was even rude to our cashier.. My online shopping experience was a series of back and forth phone calls, emails, wrong totals listed on my confirmation page, and then, Cutomer Service requested that I call them back when my order arrived for someone in Maxx World to credit my account within 3-5 business days. I have always enjoyed store shopping, and have less health to continue to go into the store lately. I have shopped TJMAXX, MARSHALL'S, HOME GOODS, since I was twenty and had three children in tow, used layaway for Christmas gifts, and prided myself on my eye for style and price. Now that I am 60, I find the ONLINE ORDERING experience so fraught with having to remind the customer service that they did not give me the shipping discount as advertised, they want me to call them again so they can credit my account within 3-5 days, that why do they call themselves CUSTOMER SERVICE to begin with. I order from Carson's, Penneys, Lands End, Dress Barn, Amazon, Zulilly, Eddie Bauer, LL Bean,, Corelle, and too,any others to hunt for packing slips! TJ Maxx, you lost someone who has probably spent $25,000 over the years in your stores. Now that I am incapacitated, me and others like me will have discretion over who gets our business at the touch of a button.
