He returned with more carts and asked if everything was alright. I said yes, thank you. So i waited until he returned from putting away the carts and I asked his name. I said I'm asking because it's refreshing to see somebody out here spreading positivity and showing stellar customer service. I said it's a rare quality these days and he says thank you. I then told him my name and to have a good night. He said nice to meet you and drive home safely. He is the perfect person you want to have greeting people as he was in tune with customers and genuinely pleasant. In the past, I've left reviews for very bad experiences. I'm leaving a review now because it's so rare to have good customer service anymore, much less great!Sure, I'll have nice or friendly experiences at times. But not great or memorable. I'm an old school Italian-American New York City born and raised clothes horse. Always well dressed and groomed. There are no board shorts in my walk-in closet. So with those bona fides I know good clothes from bad. My declaration about this Nordstrom Rack is that it has the most, varied and well priced men's clothes of all the stores in northern California. I've been to the "Racks" in San Francisco, Folsom, Vacaville, Corte Madera, Novato, and my old home town of Santa Rosa Sonoma county. This Howe Ave. store almost shocked me with the bountiful inventory. It took me 45 minutes to speed browse all of the displays. Granted there is a lot of name brand crap that is made in China. But diamonds in the rough can be found. I saw a small number of clothes made in the USA, Italy, France, Canada - You know the good stuff. The one and only disappointment is the shoe department. It's 80% athletic sneakers, running, trail, basketball, etc models. For a moment I though that I was in a Nike outlet. The kind'a shoes I wear, real leather, casual to dressy are in short supply. So I'm almost tempted to rate this store only 4 Yelp stars. But I'll get over myself here. So guys, if you are trying to up your career, work at a higher capacity and pay grade level, improve your clothes style game. This location is actually a lot cleaner and more organized than other locations which was nice! It is located off of Marconi Ave in the same shopping center as Trader Joe's and Five Below. They had a ton of wrapping paper and lots of great items for stocking stuffers and White Elephant gifts. I love finding random items that I never knew I needed! I bought around 8 items for under $60 so it was definitely a good deal! Staff were friendly and the check out line moved quickly!

Me and my poor eyes don't have to squint to read the fine print or even make use of my glasses. There's the odd item on the floor left behind by uncaring or reckless customers...especially on busy days, so a bit of care should be exercised when walking the aisles. The place does get crowded, especially on the weekends. Parking feels a bit limited, but of course, a public lot is never under the store's control. The price is reasonable. And the staff, if on hand, are very helpful...trying to be cheerful on crowded, busy days. There's a lot to see, so be prepared to spend an hour or more during your visit. Not a bad place to spend your time...and money.

Stopped by the Burlington in Howe Bout Arden, and I'll start with something I actually really appreciated: they've got a new routine at the entrance to help control traffic. The gentleman up front was friendly, welcoming, and actually took the time to explain what was going on, which I appreciated. No attitude, no confusion--just good customer service right from the door. Now let's talk about the shopping experience... WHEW. I shop at plenty of Burlington locations, so I already know it can be a hit-or-miss situation depending on the day. Unfortunately, today was definitely a MISS for me. I was on the hunt for some good shoes for the little gentlemen, and the selection was looking real slim. There were plenty of options for the girls, but the boys' section had me walking around like, "Okay Burlington... where did y'all hide the good stuff?" To be fair, it IS back-to-school season, so I already know everyone has been out here shopping like the school bus is coming tomorrow morning. I probably wasn't the only parent looking for the same things either! Even with the limited selection today, I have to give this location credit: it's usually one of the cleanest Burlingtons I've visited, and the staff consistently delivers the kind of customer service you actually want when you're shopping. Friendly people, clean store, and a welcoming atmosphere go a long way. So today's haul may have been a bust for the boys' shoes, but I'm definitely not writing this location off. As we were walking around, we noticed that a lot of the shelves were bare and they did not have any items that we were searching for - I'm not sure if they were getting ready to stock new inventory or what. We ended up leaving without buying anything. The items I did look at were priced fairly and I can't comment on the service since we did not buy anything, but the security guard at the front was very nice. There's an Apple store for the fruity folks and trust me when I say go on a weekday at lunch time for no wait. It's true. Selection is getting thinner and thinner. Amazon is winning the war and it shows. Value...was there ever really a value coming to the mall? Delinquent youths aside, the value was partially social when this existed as an actual destination. And trust me, you can find it cheaper on Amazon...delivered to your door.

The Best Shopping Experience I've Had at Macy's!…read more So I was at Macy's shopping for a pair of jeans for my 15th anniversary. Yes... JEANS. I didn't feel like I needed dress pants or a suit. At this point, my wife and I have been together 15 years and we're basically best friends. I'm pretty sure she'd be perfectly happy if I showed up in pajamas. Anywho, as soon as I walked into the Levi's section, Reeny was there ready to help me without hesitation. And let me tell you, her professionalism was on point like a bullseye! She was extremely polite, knew her stuff, and was awesome with the different options available. What really impressed me was that she somehow knew my size without me even having to tell her! She helped me find some jeans, walked me over to the fitting room, and even found a few other pairs that were slightly cheaper. Now here's the funny part... even though the other jeans were less expensive, I actually liked the first pair she picked out for me better. So I went with those. Sometimes you just gotta trust the professional! And I have to give Reeny extra credit because she was even helpful with my wife, letting her know where I was while I was shopping. That right there deserves its own five stars! By far, one of the best experiences I've had while shopping. Reeny was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and actually made shopping for clothes enjoyable--which is saying something because I'm usually trying to get in and get out. Thank you, Reeny! The second-floor women's department has been drastically reduced and now shares space with childrens', infants', and toy sections. The juniors department, which used to be on the first floor, has been moved to the second floor as well, further shrinking the already limited women's selection. I was very disappointed with how little was available. The only thing I found was a sweater marked down from $46.50 to $14.99, which was a good deal--but that was the extent of my purchase. Overall, this trip felt like a waste of time.
