Wow, another 1 Star. Here's my take: The moment I step through the doors, I felt like I walked into a Sauna. Anyone ever heard of moderation? Gotta turn the heat down folks! The entire shopping area was a mess... hangers on the racetrack, stuff everywhere in a disorganized mess, and the atmosphere just felt very chaotic. Clothes were not organized by the correct size AT ALL. I'm between a 34 - 36" waist. Hangers would say "34," the Marshall's tag would say "38," but inside the pants would say "36." This happened on 4 of 5 jeans I looked at... needless to say, it took an extra long time to find my size. When I did find 2 pairs of jeans that were of correct size, I headed toward the fitting room. I showed the lady my two items. Typically, you show them two items, they give you a card that says "2," and you're off looking for an unlocked door. Instead, she grabbed the two jeans out of my hands, hung them up on a rack, turned to take a card labeled "2," handed it to me, then took the jeans off the rack and handed me those. Kind of a longer process than was necessary, wouldn't you agree? One cool thing about the place... line queues. There was a machine that audibly called out register numbers and directed traffic, kinda like at DMV... except, at DMV, all windows are working. Here, only 3 registers were going to accommodate the line of 15-20 people. We were going to buy some wine glasses but decided it wasn't worth the 20 min wait. Lastly, the prices aren't even all that hot. Ross hands you your ass with a Yard stick. Sayonara Marshall's.. you reminded me today why I love Ross so much more. read more

Got a mens item on sale with red tags but when i get to the register the lady said it wasn't the right price and immediately snag the tag right out. She called out the manager as i was complaining that they are doing misrepresentation on their item but i was rejected by both. I then was forced not to buy the item because they priced it almost 5 x the sale price.Bad for business not going back there again. read more

Came to the store for a simple return for a Christmas gift. Made the "mistake" of wearing a hoodie and jeans therefore the cashier refused to even scan my return. This Marshalls s in the outlet mall in San Leandro which has a Nordstrom Rack and Nike store as well. This one is smaller and less messier than the other Marshalls in the area. I don't like shopping for clothes here or similar since it takes too long to find what you are looking for. I was here for some home stuff and found what I was looking for. read more

I know that I am limited in my options in clothing, being a plus sized woman, however the selection I had this last visit was very lame. Matronly sweaters, and pastel colored blouses. I could only find a few items I might be interested in, but then found that once I tried on, they did not look so good. Not to mention the very high price for some items. I have found better quality pieces for less money at Nordstrom Rack. My sister was treated very well when making her returns. Despite not having a receipt for one item and the tags off another, she was able to get her full refund in store credit. read more

A lot of the bad reviews here comment on things like messy racks and slow lines but those are general things I expect from Marshalls. I give this site 4 stars because they have a much better selection of items than the Emeryville or El Cerrito Marshalls. I went in search of dress pants in two other locations and couldn't find anything. I stopped by this Marshalls after my clinical rotation one day and walked out with a handful of things for cheap. If you're not a fan of Marshall's in general, then I understand the bad ratings... but if you have patience and tolerance and understand that everything everyone is complaining about is normal of Marshall's, then you'll see that this particular branch is a good one read more

There are deals to be had here. If you have supreme amounts of patience. The patience is for waiting in line, not just for searching through the messy store. I find it depressing to come in here, as it almost always looks like a hurricane went through it, but I know I'll find a good bargain in here, so I come here when I'm in the mood to hunt. Right now they have some decent ski/weatherproof jackets for $30-$80. Workout gear by Nike, Asics, New Balance, Adidas on clearance for about $15-$20 per piece. Yoga mats in different colors for $8-$12. I wasn't looking for street clothes, but they had some cute Juicy Couture stuff too. Lots of house stuff too (towels, sheets, lamps, etc.). However, I waited half an hour in line just to buy a new yoga mat. Tip: Go before 1pm on a Sunday. Less busy. read more

I HATE shopping at places like this -- it's messy, it smells funny, you don't know what they have, and I don't have the patience to look through everything. I only went in because my friend said she scored a really cute Roxy bikini for super cheap, but that was in San Diego. BUT!!! I did buy 3 pairs of Columbia socks & 3 pairs of Puma socks for $12 total! Happy feet = happy camper. And my friend bought another Roxy bikini for only $25! read more

OHMG I received the worst customer service ever here. The cashier didn't even have her name badge on and refused to tell me her name. She was a black women w/freckles all over her face. With a necklace that says April something. Her attitude was the rudest I have ever encountered before. I asked for the manager and her name again. She refused again to give it to me. She had no name badge on. Maybe that is why she don't wear hers. Because of her attitude. When I complained to the manager. She just said she'd talk to her. That was it. What kind of place is this? This is my go-to Marshall's! I love that they have new items stocked daily. I usually always find something different when I go. The staff is so-so , you occasionally get a rude employee but that's expected now a days , not everyone is nice. The only downfall of this location is the parking! It gets ridiculously packed and hard to find a spot. The lines for cash wrap can get really long and wrap around the clothes racks. Overall , I would recommend to give this Marshall's a look. read more

Many times, I venture her with my mom looking for some bargain deals and I must admit, we do leave the place feeling accomplished most of the time. The lines do get long because the workers there are unreasonably slow and people tend to have a crapload of stuff they want to buy. Anyways, if you are a person who has the patience to browse through shelves of random cookware, you might find a cheap bargain! I found a cake pan for only $5. However, beware that some may be dented... Also, they have some cheap exercise stuff marked down to like $10 (yoga balls, mats,etc). And I like how they have bedsheets for cheap. Btw, when I came in before Christmas, they even had some designer bags marked down (but that might just be a pre-Christmas thing for them because I have never seen so many designer bags in there before like Lucky). Seems I aways come out with something. And usually it's something that is marked down considerably than the department stores. Some days it's hit and miss. It all depends on when they put out the newer items. Most of the time it's neat. Since they closed Ross' near me. This is the next closest discount place. 3-3.5 Stars This Marshall's is a lot smaller than the one in the Great Mall of Milpitas. However, I always leave with something from here. The store feels cluttered since the spaces in between the clothing racks are tight. It's hard to find my shoes size here. I only see sizes 7 and above. Love this place, for all the stuff they have here seems like everything is up kept and organized as much as it can be. I always leave here with something. I see they are building up their nautical collections and that's what I was here for. Got some awesome things to re do my bathroom and I was happy about that. Parking sucks here unless ur early on a week day, you have been warned. Staff are helpful and nice Little known face a lot of their beauty products and body products are vegan and high quality at amazing prices only thing is some products are only there for a short time and then I don't see them again. The store is pretty well organized and we found everything ok - all good until we got to check-out. Cecilia E was our checker. One item we wanted was apparently part of a set of 2 - it wasn't attached to anything when we found it on the rack. We offered to buy another set if there was a complete one, or simply buy the single item. Cecilia eventually said this was the only one and gave us a very high price for the single item. The manager was also unhelpful. No apologies for the fact that it was Marshalls mistake, that this took up our time and that we ultimately couldn't buy what we wanted. Consider they carry similar items to Nordstrom Rack, but with additional 10--20% off, I give my thumbs up. Baby clothes, up to 2T are always nice there! Most of my daughter's wardrobes are from Marshall's! We always receive compliments. Customer service has improved for the past year, and I hope they keep up the good work. However, I agree with many reviews that the store could be messy sometimes. Deals could be hit or miss. Store displays could be better. Oh, why they tape wrapped all the Perfumes? What's the point you buy perfumes there as a gift? They tape wrapped them so badly that you loss your motivation to buy. Many clearance items, especially clothes could be really bad, they look like they've been washed and used many times, and then back to the rack for salvage sale. Well, if you really decide to dig the racks, then, only go when you have plenty of time to kill. I did get a brand new BCBG dress there for $20. (Originally $280)! read more

I wouldn't make this store my go to place to find deals in every department, but on certain items; they can't be beat. My family and I came to this shopping center to look around. This Marshall's is in a good and convenient location. We went inside and at first glanced looked like any other Marshall's. I noticed that this Marshall's has tons of items for sale than other Marshall's I have gone to in the past. They have a great selection of Junior and Women's clothing. Their men's selection was pretty great as well. It was a little messy but, I didn't mind because the staff were just so great! Will be coming here again. read more

Love shopping at Marshall's. The prices are very reasonable for designer clothes, shoes and purses. Plus tons of household to choose from. They stock new items everyday. You will be sure to find something to buy. The clearance section is ok but there's not a lot to choose from. If your lucky you might find something and it's marked down. Mark downs are once a month or sooner. You can find a $45.00 sweater for $$10.00 after its been marked down 3 times. I recommend Marshall's for your clothing and household needs. if i could give no stars i would!!! my husband was so excited he found his favorite shoes, pony, it was on clearance for 16!! after waiting in the ridiculous line for 20+ minutes, he gets to the register and the clerk said no way it's 16!!! and proceeds to try to get the tag off and said it must be 19.00!! are you fucking kidding me?!?!??? my honey is a calm sweet guy. but this lady was crazy and made him pretty pissed off. we would have bought them even if we found it on clearance for 19...but because of the nerve this lady had, we walked out empty handed!!! read more

Worst store. What awful selection and icky vibe. Everything looks outdated, from the sickening hospital like yellow walls to their terrible style offerings. This a store feels like it might have been good back in the 90s but never changed with the times. I'm never coming back here and probably any other Marshall's either. I wish I can give it no stars!!! This store and some of the employees are Gross!!!! If you walk around you can see so much around the store. I was at the children section and I saw a big dust balls. and when I went to the restroom to wash my hands an employe WHO JUST USE THE RESTROOM JUST WALK OUT WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS!!!! I like this Marshall's location better than the one in Dublin and Emeryville. Most of the time when I come in, everything is organized and I find a lot of cute items. Love the fact that there's a Nordstrom rack and Starbucks close by along with a nike outlet and bath and body works also. I like this Marshall's for their clothing selection and home goods too. Only problem is sometimes the cuter clothes are sold out in bigger sizes *sigh*. I would avoid on weekends if possible because parking at marina square can be horrendous. read more

Good place to go to get an inexpensive, decent quality men's suit if you're on a tight budget. They probably have a total of ~75 suits from brands like Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Micheal Kors for $149. Nordstrom rack has larger quantity of higher end suits, but the prices are higher brand for brand and some of the stuff looks like someone wore it for a month and returned it. The Marshalls in emeryville (and the ross) do not carry suits. read more

I like the home section of this store. I really love to sit and pick through stuff you never know what little treasure your going to find. I usually save this type of adventure for shopping at Ross but popped in recently and was pleasantly pleased at all of the good buys I found. I have been in there once a week ever since. The only thing I am not that thrilled with is the way the cash wrap is configured. Its kinda smooched and when you are shopping with a toddler it makes it hard to keep his hands off of the goodies that surround you. read more

I have been shopping at this store for many years. I usually come here just to look around, but really looking for something in particular. When I do find something, it's just what I inteded to come for. The lines vary, dorm days I can be the second in line and times when I might have to wait a minute. No hassle when doing returns. Do not go to this Marshall's. I know this location is convenient but go to Dublin or Emeryville Marshall's. I was attempting to return items and I didn't have the right receipt. Once Judy found out I didn't have the correct receipt she literally through my items back at me. I am not exaggerating. Once she through the first item at me I told her to not through the items back at me and then once she scanned the second item she through the item at me even harder at me. I do not need to be degraded when I return items. I live in San Leandro and I will never go back to this location read more

Today I came by Marshall's at San Leandro to buy a luggage I had bought at another Marshall's in Colma City near Daly City and asked if they could match priced as I bought the other exact same size, brand, and color marked down to 79.99 from 99.99 regular price. Before I could ask the sales girl to ask her manager, he gave a mean look that you could tell he did not want to deal with me nor would make any considerations. I politely asked the sales girl to ask her manager anyway and i discover that MARSHALL's does NOT sell their merchandise at the same price nor do they match their prices with other Marshall's. I explained that I had a receipt and could show it but that was useless as the nasty manager had made up his mind to say NO. I would say that though you may find some bargains.. you won't find a shred of customer service here- San Leandro per my experience. read more

Marshalls is consistently better than Ross for a variety of heavily discounted housewares. It also seems cleaner and less crowded, with better staffing. This store seems larger than the ones in El Cerrito or Emeryville and hence has more merchandise. read more
