This is by far the best Pharmacy I have ever been to. Right next to my house there is a CVS. This walmart is about 30 minutes drive but I still choose this one. The reason is very simple. They are very dedicated, polite, respectful of my time and always do their job, right. I'm writing this review to quadruple remind myself to not shop here. I generally avoid Walmart, especially this one. It's chaotic, the parking lot is full of break in, the employees are always complaining and the floors are sticky half the time. But ocassionally, I think to myself. "It'll be easier to just swing by Walmart on my way home instead of ordering online or going elsewhere" NOPE. Everytime I come here, I end up wasting more time and the delusional dream of walking in to buy one or two items and leaving in a timely fashion fades quickly. Why? (1) Half the time, they don't have what I need in stock, even if it says they have it in stock on their website. (2) If and when I do find it, half the time, the prices are wrong. I.e. today I went to buy car oil, and it was listed as $23.95, which rung up as $25.95. (3) The lines are always super long, they don't have enough cashiers and the employees are always complaining to eachother as they work. By the time I've waited 30-45 minutes in line, I don't want to bother with the $2 discrepancy, I just want to leave. (4) But of course the card readers at Walmart doesn't work half the time. It didn't work this time, and after inserting the chip and swiping multiple times, I wonder if I'll get mysterious scam charges on my card. (5) So, then of course I have to take out another card to pay. Which ironically I had gone to 3 other shops prior and had 0 problems paying with my first card. There's definately something wrong with Walmart card readers. All in all, I ended up spending over an hour trying to buy a jug of oil. I'm anxiously checking my bank account to make sure I didn't get scammed. Reminder to myself, it will in fact be more of a headache to go into Walmart. read more

Walmart moved into this space after Target left. I mostly avoid W. For various reasons. The latest one being it's so crowded there's no social distancing. Didn't want to catch COVID nor the flu. Had to come here recently to buy some Flu meds. Decided to come late in the afternoon on a Sunday as sports drains businesses of patrons during that time span. Was planning to get in & out quickly. 'Cuz scouting my get-away on the fly, taking pics wasn't a priority. Customer service was great though workers seem stressed & shell shocked. Had to flag down a worker to open the med. cabinet as all were "locked" until liberated by a worker to my custody . Same meds then "locked" in a plastic "box" till it reached a payment station. Cashier unlocked meds & placed them in my custody upon payment of $4.98 a bottle. Every item had a different $$ figure to be released from custody. If you are following, I have been spending more and more time in SL, slowly going south towards Hayward. Another reason I like this Walmart is because it is near and convenient to the other businesses I frequent when back in The Bay. FoodMaxx, Lucky, Safeway, etc. Better instock conditions, better parking, and still has all the departments that I need. I even did curbside pick up once, for the first time which was quick and easy. Atmosphere - See above. They have the following departments - Garden Center, Pharmacy, Grocery, Photo, Liquor, Subway, Delucas (pizza), etc. Open 7 days a week from 6am to 11pm. Plenty of parking. Well, I like to park further and walk as there are too many bad drivers and bad parkers. Plus I do not want any cart dings. Service - Self service. But the self service check out is fully staffed and monitored. Price - Inexpensive. I do not check prices with this brand. Walked up to the register this morning at my local Walmart. senior female employee who needed to sit in a chair while cashiering. she would carry a conversation with her coworker nearby. There was no greeting not even the total amount due. I couldn't believe it cause I was raised to respect my elders and this senior female, elderly employee, her conversation was too important with her coworker at the time to even speak. Eventually I swipe my gift card and waiting on her in and literally she just stares at me. I waited to see if she was going to say anything she didn't so I said I'm waiting on you. I think that a customer's experience at a store has AS MUCH to do with THEM, as it does with the store. Someone complained about merchandise being locked behind glass cases. Why is that? Because customers come in and STEAL! Doesn't a store have the right to protect its inventory?? Or should it roll out the red carpet for the thieves? I think NOT! ‍ I have had to wait for the store associate come unlock the glass cases, too. Yes, it IS inconvenient, but evidently it is NECESSARY! An employee told to wait even though there were plenty of registers open. He told me that it was no longer a self check out it's scan and go, which means a Walmart employee needs to scan your items then you pay. For many people Walmart is not just a choice it is a necessity. Saving a few dollars here and there is the name of the game. In general I'm not crazy about the crowds, but to save $5- $10 dollars I will bite my bottom lip and tolerate the large crowds. I haven't been here in awhile. This isn't a welcoming location. And never really has been. There were employees everywhere including the front door and no one spoke when I came in, and no one spoke when I left. The checker did say hello before they talked to their co worker as they checked me out, no biggie. It was weird as I saw at least 20 + Walmart employees for the 10-15 minutes I shopped. Things are all over the place and at times space is limited when trying to pass other customers in here, but there are a lot of good items here. This location is cluttered with items/employees and maybe the employees only job is to watch people and prevent theft, but I don't think most shoppers are here to steal so maybe say hello, smile, ask if the customer needs help finding anything. Not here though. On the way in I passed armed agents (Not security guards)and on the way out I passed armed agents. Bullet proof vest and rifles. It didn't make me feel safe personally. Today I shopped at Walmart in San Leandro on Hesperian Blvd.. I shop there once a week. I usually buy fancy feast cat food and various other things. I spend about $125 a week. The last few times I had to bring to the checkers attention that the shelf says .87 cents and it rings up for .88. It's only 1 cent. But when you are buying 96 cans that's nearly $ 1.00. So it's the principal. Change the price on the shelf if you are going to raise the price. Today Teresa the checker made a big fuss. She didn't know how to do it. Other checkers did it quickly no problem. So I asked for a manager to accomplish the override. That was nearly impossible to achieve . Finally after being pulled out of line ,ridiculed and abused by Teresa. She called me names and said things about me right in front of me. Horrible treatment. I was patient and kind. I figured she hates her job. I just wanted the price adjusted. The manager finally came made the adjustment and did not apologize. Really on New Years Eve. It was at 7:30 am so the store wasn't busy. I don't know why I'm shocked. I'm a Walmart plus member and I try to use scan and go when I'm not buying something that's priced wrong. Just so I don't interact with Walmart rude checkers. I was not able to get out to shop for groceries but they made it 100% easy with Walmart Plus and I was able to get my items on the promised date which was today (ordered on New Years Day) All items I ordered were accounted for and saved lots of money versus shopping at other stores locally. The store itself isn't the issue. They have any and everything you could need. From school supplies, lingerie and makeup, to groceries, dvds and fishing gear. They even have a pharmacy. The main issue is the staffing. It's very hot and cold. You have very few who go above and beyond. The others can't even tell you where the televisions are. Another problem is that the t-shirts, underwear, makeup, fingernail polish and other items are now locked up. You have to push a button to prompt an associate to come open it for you. Sometimes the buttons are broken or the associates working in that department DON'T have a key. Walmart has become a hassle. read more

I have been ordering products from Walmart for 11+ years. Average order every 5 weeks ranges from $125 - $175. I live in SF so making a 75 mile round trip drive to Walmart in the East Bay is not in the cards. For the last 4 or 5 months, I've been having delivery problems, but only when Walmart uses OnTrac. I'm fortunate to live in a property that is surrounded by a 6' privacy fence and I live on the first floor or at street level. All the courier has to do is read the %$@ sign that I post on my gate and deliver the packages over the gate where they land in my small front yard. Nope, OnTrac courier walks up the staircase and leaves the package(s) out in the open to tempt the porch thieves and grant them free access to grab what they can. Aparently, Walmart must have gotten to On Trac because my most recent order was delivered over the gate! Success at last. Now my rant is with what was NOT inside the package that was delivered, which has nothing to do with OnTrac, but falls directly on Walmart. This past Sunday, I called Walmart to report that the printer ink was not in the box that was just delivered. Walmart rep tells me that it will take 48 hours to investigate. Today, I called Walmart again to find out what is going on? I need the ink and I don't want a refund! Today, the rep didn't come right out and say this, but it was obvious NOTHING was inititiated from when I first reported the missing ink. She said she's sorry, but it will take an additional 48 hours to investigate. What? This particular brand of XL ink was on sale for $24, which saved me about $26. The fact I am now out of ink doesn't help either. I am really p/o'd that Walmart does not stand behind their service to provide what the customer has ordered and paid for. Thanks Yelp for letting me rant. Gotta go find me some ink now! Email I received from a 'customer service rep today 10 9 24: "Thank you for contacting us regarding your order xxxxxxx. I see that all items are showing delivered by the carrier to the address on file. Yes, it is ghetto. However, the employees have their act together when fulfilling Walmart.com orders. I had placed orders at the Richmond Hilltop and the Pittsburg locations, only to have them fall through. This place had my item in stock, had its inventory logs updated, had my order ready within an hour of me placing it online, and most of all, has competent employees. It was my first time picking up a Walmart.com order, so I didn't know where to go or what to do when I entered. The guard directed me to the kiosk, I scanned in my order number, and an employee brought everything out. First, he double checked my order to make sure that everything was there. Then, he opened the bags to show me that everything was there. Then, he cautioned me on one of the items, which was small, to make sure that I didn't lose it on the way out. A very conscientious young man. I wish that I had gotten his name so that I could tell his manager what a careful job he did. The pickup experience from here was as it should be. Hardly any wait, no running around the store trying to track down an employee to get help, item was in stock and delivered as promised. A rare find anyways, and even rarer in the age of Covid. In contrast, went to pick up lunch at a hole in the wall afterward. They didn't pick up the phone (called five times) and took almost an hour to make my food-- and some people who arrived after me got served before. I purchased some holiday gifts on the Walmart website on Black Friday. Instead of requesting shipping, I wanted to pick up my order from my local Walmart (on Davis St). Unfortunately, I was directed to pick up my order from this Walmart. 5 days later, I received an email stating that my order was ready, and that the best time to come by would be between noon and 4:00 PM (presumably this would be a slower time). I arrived at 2:00 PM, found a kiosk inside the store where the online orders were to be picked up, entered my order number... and the kiosk said my order was not available. WTF!!! It took me over 20 minutes to find a staff to help me. By the time I found someone who scanned the barcode on my email and track down my order, there were 10 people in line for the same kiosk. And all of them had the same complaint as me, that the kiosk contracted their emails. But there were only 2 people assigned to work with the online order folks. TBH, I felt sorry for the Walmart workers. 2:00 PM on a December Wednesday wasn't slow; there were so many customers in the store! And most of the workers didn't know much about the online ordering issue. My question for corporate Walmart: why introduce a new technology that was obviously buggy during the busiest holiday season? In the end, I saved money on the gifts I bought. But I regret selecting pickup;I should have risked having the items shipped to my house. I personally want to know whose dumb idea was it to force customers to allow an associate to scan a customer's items at a SELF SERVICE CHECK OUT KIOSK!! This defeats the whole purpose of what a self- service check out stand is for. I shouldn't have to wait for an associate to do something that not only do I already know HOW to do on my own but PREFER to do on my own! I was a cashier for many years and even worked for Walmart in another state many years ago and I don't need any help. First of all, this Walmart is a zoo. With any zoo, you expect to find animal poop. So if you're strolling around and see poop that's not being cleaned up, you're getting a good deal. This is walmart so a good deal is what they are all about and they just gave you free admission to a human zoo, poop and all! Staff at this Walmart were the worst. I asked an employee to get an item for me. She said she didn't know. Then I asked her can you find someone else to help me then, she responded by saying "sorry I cannot help you with that" and just continued with whatever she was doing. I asked two more staff, also said they didn't know. Finally I was able to find a staff member find ANOTHER staff member to help me.
