First off the bathroom was extremely dirty and very unkept. On top of that, the store itself was unorganized with clothes scattered all over the floor. Never been to Ross. I liked all the selections Ross provides. I like the variety of brands. Billabong, Quick Silver and many more. Cashier was very informative. And pleasant. Other than homeless asking for money or people having a mental episode I would go back to Ross but in Dublin. Customers said Dublin has a better experience. read more

They harass customers in there and discriminating ppl walking in. Saw a black woman get discriminated and was not allowing cards at checkout from time to time only cash. Will mess with your sensor getting holes in your merchandise if you buy too small. Customer service not that great. The black woman paid cash like 100 dollars because she was treated badly refused to give her her cash back and they were arguing. That's against the law, customers have rights to their refunds . This was my second time visiting this store. The first time was back in September and it was much more organized and had more options than it did during my second visit. My second visit was yesterday and there were very few household items. I found a lot of things broken, sadly. I wish people would be more careful when they handle items at the store. They did have a lot of options for clothes, shoes, and beauty sections. I went looking for kitchen items and was not able to find a little white bowl or something similar. The staff was super nice, which is why I am giving this store 3 stars. There was a security guard at the entrance and he was super friendly!! To my surprise, there is the self-check-out option now. Witnessed a disgruntled shopper at the self checkout isle at around 12:20pm. She verbally demanded immediate service and satisfaction while all stations were busy. To deescalate the loud fuss, the white male worker at the cleck stand quickly assist the situation and offer immediate service without questions or hesitations. This makes the most hard to please shoppers want to come back. Bravo to the quick actions to someone who just wanted to be heard and serve . 5 stars to the guy! read more

What is the point of having a check self out when the workers take so long to come help when they are more than 2 people at self check out and no customers . Took forever to take off my sensor off 1 item . There were two lady at the machine both talking . They couldn't stop for 5 seconds to take off 1 sensor. I rarely come to this location, only decided to come since it was a close walk from my visit to Michael's. I will give the customer service an A today, the only lady at the register was doing her best to stay pleasant with the short tempered people who have no manners. But everything is either a mess, cluttered or super empty. Furniture stacked on top of each other, the shelves need some tending and why display hangers in random places. Hopefully this location is able to provide jobs so the store can look better. Despite the state of the store, there was a good flow of customers coming into this location. read more

After months of being closed due to COVID-19, Ross opened their doors back in June 2020. I've been a few times since it reopened and was happy to see the safety measures they've taken. They have bottles of hand sanitizer around the checkout/return counter for customers to use, 6 ft social distancing stickers for the wait line, arrows to show the flow of traffic down the aisles, employees wearing masks, and every 10-15 minutes an announcement to practice safe social distancing while in the store. Ross had some major sales when it opened back up, however, now there aren't any sales. The service is friendly and the security guards greet you in and out of the store. This location is not far from both the 580 and 880 freeway and it's next door to the Dollar Store for more affordable shopping! You can't go wrong with discount stores especially during these times. P.S. Senior Day is every Tuesday! Make sure to let the cashier know when you check out to receive a 10% discount. :) read more

Not sure if it was just because of the holidays but the ile's in this store are so small that two carts can't walk down the same ile you or the other person have to literally back all the way out to get through. This is a fab Ross with super tidy aisles, helpful staff and practical parking. I went on a Thursday morning and was one of the very few customers so the single cashier did not impact my shopping spree. For a fully loaded (with accessories that is) Barbie doll , gorgeous birthday bad and silk paper for a grand total of $13. I must say that this small shop from the outside is a bit of a tard is with everything a big Ross has to offer. Nice. Glad to see the taped arrows on the floor and open space to for patrons to casually shop. I wanted to specifically give a shoutout to the gentleman who rung me up today. Taller, slicked back-black hair. He apologized for the "wait" but honestly, it wasn't a bad wait AT ALL, and he was just so kind to all customers. He wasn't originally a cashier, but to help speed up the line, he opened a cash register. If you're an avid fan of discounted stores, you'll know that efficiency isn't always on the top of the list or excellent customer service (aka attitude problem), but he defied all odds! I've been to my fair share of Ross stores in my lifetime and this one has a lot of deals. It's one of the more neater locations, too. I come here for random kitchen utensils and candles. I am not sure if it will be limited stock moving forward with Covid-19 (maybe they might be trying to get rid of old inventory) before fully restocking, but it seems to be the case? I recommend to shop here with little expectations. Anywho, parking is tight, though it's a large lot. If you have a larger car, you might want to park a bit further away from Ross. Definitely the worst customer service, even for a ROSS. I walked in and went to the Returns and Exchanges counter to return a lamp and the woman at the counter told me that the line started "over there" and pointed to a sign where ZERO PEOPLE were standing in line. I waited for seven minutes watching her put clothes on hangers, talk to the Loss Prevention and other customers that were clearly her friends, and organize the previous returns behind the counter. The cashier at another register called all the customers, saying "Next purchase" making It very clear that my return was not their job. She continued to do her work, avoiding eye contact with me as I stood and waited. She then walked over to another cashier and said, "I'm off" and walked away. Terrible customer service!!!! Waited in line to return a purchase. I stood in the correct line (returns). However, the cashiers would call out 'next purchase' yet they can see I'm standing in the return line. About 5 customers with purchases were called to the cashiers. I finally said 'what about folks waiting to return? I waiting about 15-20mins before a cashier ask to help the folks with a return. At this point, the line grew for the returns. Every consecutive time I've gone into Ross with my kids, we always have an security officer following us around. I've talked to friends who've gone to that Ross, and family members too and they ok say that the security officers were following them. I'm an African American female with two kids, and I don't appreciate being generalized the moment I walk into a Ross store. It happens every single time and I've never ever stolen anything! This review is for the lovely lady that was working in the fitting room around 4:15-5pm. I don't remember but I believe her name was Clara or Claire. I was in a rush to get my clothes and get out of the store as fast as I could, but not without trying everything on first. Despite there being several customers there at first, she was really fast and efficient with helping everyone. However what really got me was how patient she was being with a another extremely rude shopper that was refusing to hang up his clothes. Even when he knocked over his own items, she was still polite and helped him pick everything up. The customer then apologized for their behavior and cooperated. The customer service at this store is great, and though the lines are long they move by really fast. Good job fitting room worker! read more

I will never visit this location again! This Ross is in my neighborhood and I stop by occasionally to pick home goods or miscellaneous items I may need. This week I walked in and greeted the loss prevention staff as they greet most people that walk in. I went to the mens underwear section and noticed one of the loss prevention guys lurking. I greeted him and kindly went about my way shopping. I noticed another loss prevention guy following me and I became uncomfortable in my shopping. I felt they were overaggressive as they watched everything I did my entire visit. I have never stolen a thing in my adult life and felt really saddened that I was treated like a criminal. As I checked out of line I noticed them profile another gentleman. They looked like a bunch of overaggressive untrained amateurs. I strongly recommend management conduct, or provide implicit bias training for all loss prevention staff immediately. I will NOT be spending another dollar in this place. Bigger than most Rosses with a larger space and more goods. If Ross does carry it, it mostly likely exists here. And despite the foot traffic it gets on the outskirts of Bay Faire Mall, it's rather tidy when I shop here. Plus, the hunt for the bargain is always a personal thrill of mine. I love a good find for a great price. And usually I walk out of here with just that. Today, I needed some bathroom basics. I was having guests come over and wanted an extra over-the-door towel holder, a new shower liner, and a new tube mat (the current one wasn't suctioning well to the tub's floor). After like 15 minutes of searching, I found a liner fo 3.99, a towel holder for 3.99, a new tub mat for 4.99, and a cute statue to put on my vanity top for decoration for 3.99. With tax, I walked away with barely $20 dollar spent and everything was perfectly what I need. Of course, as all Ross stores are purposely understaffed, the wait to get check out is what brought down the stars from 4 to 3. They have the cash registers; I just wish the company actually invested in more employees. read more

I stopped by this ROSS to grab a couple of things for my daughter. As we walked about the store, we came across 2 items of interest. We approached the dressing room and waited for the attendant. As the attendant approached the area, she rudely spoke to another younger attendant, which wasn't nice, but I moved on. As I waited to be acknowledged, I was leaning on the hanger ROSS used to set your things on to count them as one enters the fitting room. The attendant, Yolanda, walked over to me, frowns her face, and rudely waved her hand while slightly brushing my elbow while she's telling me to move off of the pole. There was a MUCH better way to do that! Do not touch me. As she counted our items, she handed my daughter a number 3 tag instead of a 2 tag. I then inquired about the tag to ensure that we were receiving the correct tag because I didn't want problems when we exited the fitting room. Yolanda went on and on about how she's been working there long enough to know what was going and when I spoke with her about her tone and coming across aggressive and rude, she started rolling her neck, getting loud, being utterly disrespectful. Yolanda went in about how she wasn't being rude but she was just letting me know, blah, blah, blah... then, I said, lady, you're rude! I'm telling your manager. She said good- I think you should go tell them. I am huge in customer service and today's experience was HORRENDOUS! I spoke with the manager but have no faith that she's going to pursue action, so I will be informing their corporate office. Just like any other business, there are certain things to purchase at Ross and certain things to avoid. This place is great for the lotions, face masks, and the occasional decent shoe. However, you do have to be wary of the cheaply made items in clothing, shoes, and handbags. I come here for the affordable tunics, jeans in my size, and occasional All-Star Converse finds. Once in a while I'll find some odd-ball good stuff, too. For example, they have a good selection of dog beds, toys, harnesses, and nick knacks. No one else in the whole store? Also, when I gave her the change I bought that thing last time, I asked her to give me the whole 1 dollar. No！No! Recieved a number of items from Ross at our baby shower, some of which were duplicates of other items and needed to be returned. Luckily, our friend was thoughtful enough to include receipts in order to make the return process easier...unluckily, this location decided to take it upon themselves to make things difficult. They refused to allow the return of an item despite it having all tags AND matching the description of the item listed on the receipt just because it didnt have their price sticker anywhere on it. How can you deny a return when the customer has a RECEIPT?? It made absolutely no sense and the manager just shrugged it off. So, we went to the Davis street location the following day and they facilitated the return with no questions asked. The hesperian staff is ignorant of their own corporate rules. They need to be retrained in how to handle returns and exchanges. read more

This location is Very poorly managed. Posted hours say that it is open until 10:30 p.m. which are also the hours posted on Yelp. They closed their doors and had the security gates closed when I arrived at 10:15 p.m. tonight. If they are going to post hours, then they should stick to the schedule. First, it's a Ross, so it's not high end by any stretch but you can find decent bargains. What makes the experience annoying is one of their security guards who yells at folks "welcome to Ross" or variations on departing and incoming greetings so loud it is off putting and can be heard every 10 to 15 seconds from all corners of the store. I have actually left the store or skipped going in just to avoid this woman. She once wandered the store and kept "greeting" me at top volume. You JUST saw me on the next aisle over!
