I have been going to Marshall's for over 20 years. They have worked on 5 of the cars that I have owned. I recently had to go in due to an emissions check engine error for a smoke test to confirm location of the error. Professional and transparent in the handling of the issue. Called to advise me of the error and cost of overall repairs. I first started going to them in my 30's when I lived down the street from them. I was referred to them by two older women in my complex. Cautious as most women are of mechanics I researched them and recall finding reviews by women online regarding their fair and honest treatment of women. Now that the business was taken over by Marshall's partner Pat. I can confirm that the business still runs with the same mindset as when Marshall's owned it. Travelling from Northern Ca. to Tucson, engine overheated, pulled off freeway to a gas station and diagnosed upper radiator hose failure. Searched for and found Marshall's on the internet, only 2 miles from my present stranded position. Safely drove there and parked and dropped the keys in drop box on Sunday morning. Talked with Patrick Monday morning. He listened to my diagnosis and said they would test to confirm it and if so, parts available to fix it were no issue and "Should have you back on the road by mid afternoon". I got the status call during breakfast confirming the hose failure and 3 repair options. I chose the recommended option. True to his word, I was headed to Tucson by 3:30. They gave me what I called "Travel Mercies"! These folks are the best ! Truly service the way it used to be. I can't say enough about their top notch service AND at a very reasonable price! I was the most annoying mom with my daughter living out of state and needing urgent car repair. I called at least 5 times and the very young lady that answered every time never made me feel annoying. When my daughter called her she asked "are you the one w the mom calling?" No shade at all just relating w my daughter, lol. I love this place, they diagnosed the issue at way cheaper than expected and in a very short amount of down time. Daughter said it was a whole family running everything and she felt in really good hands. That is priceless for me so far away knowing what great hands she was in. BEWARE! DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE. PART SWAPPER! On Nov 6th, 2025 I dropped my car off with Pat(owner) to install 2 new lightbulbs in my 2008 Acura TL. - a tedious job. After a couple of hours, Pat called to tell me over and over how hard of a job it was, and he wanted $180 to do the job. As this was half the price of the Tempe AZ Acura dealer, I agreed. I picked the car up, but was disappointed to find that while the original passenger side was fixed, the previously working driver's side was now not working. Determined to fix this (I'm an ex. trained mechanic and aerospace Engineer), I opened the hood after work the next day but was astounded to see that my previously new battery has been replaced by an oil covered, beat-up old Diehard battery. I called the Marshall shop, only to find Pat had gone home early. I drove to Oreilly's to purchase a new battery (the cheap Diehard battery had a dead cell, and my car LOST COMPLETE POWER TWICE under 1K RPM (the alternator kicks off under 1K). The new O'Reilly's battery priced-out at $240. My previous battery (~6-months old) cost $180 when Advanced Auto went thru liquidation in Western AZ. I spoke with Pat the morning of Nov 8th, and he pledged to ask his employees if they dad swapped my battery (as he claimed ignorance). This AM (Nov 10th) I spoke w/Pat and he stated he asked his employees and they all said they didn't swap out my battery (like I'd expect them to say they did). Pat claimed to 'conveniently'not have any security cameras monitoring the rear of his business when he said he worked on my car. Pat refused to refund me a penny. In the end, this job cost me $610 . ... to install 2 lightbulbs. This is DOUBLE what the dealer would have done the same for. .. Penny wise and pound foolish. Beware. Take a picture of the engine compartment before you let anyone lift your hood. As I told Pat, I took a picture before letting him lift my hood - and he still would not step up, be a man, and give me my battery back. I have no other choice than to file a Scottsdale Police report and call the BBB. In my 60-years, I've experienced this. Unprofessional and unethical behavior. read more

I cannot say enough, good things about this business! It's refreshing to be treated like a human no matter what car you drive! Everyone here is honest about pricing and does quality work very efficiently. From routine oil changes to any frustrating one off instances that happens with your car- All of the employees are very communicative- especially todd and Patrick. I've brought my 2009 Honda in for multiples things and everything has been diagnosed and taken care of within a day- even in the July heat! I wish this standard of service was upheld at every autobody shop and dealership, but it is what makes Marshalls stand out . read more

As a single woman , I highly recommend this shop , who just this week fit in a pre-purchase inspection for me and got it done in mere hours ! I highly recommend this business ! I think this place is awesome. I'm a pretty good 'do it yourselfer' when it comes to repairing cars. A couple times I've been stumped and took it to Marshalls and it's no big deal for their experienced technicians. I tend to not trust auto repair places, but I'm telling everybody I know to take their car to Marshalls. I took my car there once with a problem that they couldn't solve. They ran a bunch of tests and never could determine the problem. It turned out to be a very specialized problem that the dealer had to diagnose. All that work and they didn't charge me a dime because they couldn't diagnose my problem. Love honest businesses that take care of their customers. read more

John and the rest of the staff did an excellent job of fixing my car! What started as a simple alternator replacement became a bigger issue with the driver's window switch going out. After a couple of replacement switches, due to supplier mistakes, they got it done correctly. They were always super helpful and did a great job of keeping me updated and getting my car fixed. Marshall's is simply an all-around exceptional service center. I have brought them no less than 10 cars of varying makes, models and vintages over the past 4 years -- everything from domestic, Japanese, and German as old as 1972 to as new as 2003 -- and I use them exclusively for all my PPI's (pre-purchase inspections). They don't necessarily specialize in any of these super specific cars I seem to bring them, but they have enough knowledge and skill to know how to solve the problems they *can* fix -- and most importantly -- when to tell me to take my ride to a specialty shop. As a small independent shop, these guys are as good as it gets. We've taken our SUV here two or three times in the last two years, and these guys always deliver. On time, near or at the quoted amount, and with professionalism. They also have given advice that meant a short-term loss of business (replacing a battery) because they knew it was wiser and smoother for them and us. Didn't fix problem after new condenser - because other problems too -- when I took it back for them to check because hardly blowing air and not cold - never even looked under the hood - just told me bs that it was the air cabin filter. Took it someplace else - they found the clog in one area from the condenser going out, and another leak to the back seat a/c. $900 and a few more days of hassle not having a vehicle!! read more

I started my car this morning and a bunch of warning lights were flashing. I know very little about cars so my first thought was to go to Marshalls because I always have my work done there. I got there and they were not open but some one that works there drove in to do something in the office. He went out of his way to help me. I appreciated the help from this Good Samaritan. He found the problem was nothing serious and found the problem. Now that is what I call 5 star service. I thank that person so much for taking the time to help a 79 year old who needed help. We just recently moved from WA and I struggle to find shops I trust. I was very candid that I didn't want to take my car to the dealer because they will just nickel and dime you. My 2014 Chrysler minivan had a bad noise coming from under the hood. Leo understood I was a new customer looking for a trustworthy shop and assured me they would do their best at a reasonable price. Not only did they find a very cracked flex plate, but they got a bunch of other stuff done around my transmission to avoid future labor costs. I am very happy and fortunate they found the problem and fixed it in a short amount of time. We will be bringing both of our vehicles and future vehicles in for service. My sister has been going to Marshalls for years and asked me about a maintenance issue. I was looking over my sisters receipts and noticed Marshalls Service Center has been recommending and doing 3000 mile oil changes when current day oils/vehicles only need it at most every 5000 miles. The manufacturer of this vehicle calls for changes at 7500. This is very dishonest of Marshalls to mislead customers for their own profit. Also, on the receipts, Marshalls is "recommending" additional routine maintenance services that according to the manufacturers schedule, aren't due for 10's of thousands of miles more! The vehicle is used under normal conditions, not a severe service condition like towing. And I've checked these fluids they "recommend" having changed and they are fine. read more
