I've always enjoyed shopping at Marshall's HomeGood because they offer a great selection, and I can usually find something new and interesting each time I stop in. That said, I'm seriously reconsidering coming back because of how pushy the store manager is about applying for their credit card. I've said "no" multiple times--politely--but he continues to bring it up nearly every time I check out. It's VERY uncomfortable and honestly feels like I'm being harassed. A customer's "no" should be enough. I'm here to shop, not to be pressured. What used to be a quick, enjoyable stop has become something I now dread because I don't want to deal with having to say no multiple times. I hope this issue is addressed soon because the store itself is great--but the experience is starting to outweigh the convenience. read more

a bird flew into the store. no employees were trying to get it out so several customers were attempting to help it. we almost had it out of the store and I picked up a small sign to try to steer it out of the store. an employee came over and griped at me for using the merchandise. I told her I just wanted to shoo it towards the door which was 10 feet away. she again was worried about the merchandise. I asked her if she had any other ideas and she just looked at me with a blank stare. we left 10 minutes later and 4 employees were just standing there talking about the bird. no one did anything for 30 minutes while the customers were working on it. we left very frustrated. they were so incompetent. read more

I have been to this Marshalls a few times before and realized after today's visit, I never reviewed it. I LOVE browsing Marshall's/TJMAXX and Homegoods. I feel like you can't beat the value of this store compared to paying full price elsewhere. This particular store is quite large and is a combined Marshalls and Homegoods. Despite a great selection of items, today's visit we came out empty handed, (which is unusual.) Haha. We still liked to look around. I am kind of glad we didn't find anything to buy because the line was HUGE. Basically the line was 1.5x the length of the store width wide. Meh. Thurgood and Fire are two totally different marshalls. But this is neither of those... it's a clothing store. This is an excellent Marshalls way down in Webster that isn't usually too busy, and as you can see, Barbie usually looks pretty spectacular when she's here, as you would imagine. We love coming here for shopping and often do. As I said before, though - I moved West already, but I might move Wester and go to Webster. If so, I'll have to inform the Fire Marshalls. Or at least the employees at this Marshalls. Last time I was here, I didn't find anything I really wanted inside this Marshalls and it's kind of big - but kind of had a small men's active wear selection which was a little surprising. There's lots of these stores around Houston so I probably prefer some of the others. read more

i want to preface this by saying marshall's & tj maxx are my favorite stores. today however the line was over an hour long (not kidding). and they were literally playing trap mix christmas music like bass blasted or something and it was HORRIBLE. it sounded like doomsday experimental hypnosis music inside the fitting rooms. whoever is in charge of the playlist needs to be stopped immediately. read more

It is basically a costly thrift store, you can get much better goods in other stores in a lower price with discount. The return policy is very weird, the item should be resealable, and it should be decided by their manager, who appears pretty novice. Do not go in this store, it is a scam. read more

I feel like Marshalls is always a kind of hit or miss. It's one of those places you gotta go into knowing you need to spend a chunk of time digging through clothing racks and shelves. I've been impressed with the variety of beauty/skincare products and pet supplies here. I've bought some higher end makeup like Stila glitter and Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadow palettes as well as dog toys for a decent discount (especially since my dogs destroy all toys, so the less expensive the better haha). I skip on looking through the clothing department because it's overwhelming and a lot of times pretty messy or just out of season. If you're killing time around the mall, I'd definitely say it's worth stopping in just to check out the home goods alone. this is a store that usually I go first when I need anything. I wanted a trash can. they have plenty in different styles and prices. I chose the expensive one because I needed it to last. less than 2 months later it broke down, they refused to return it if I don't have a receip. who keeps rceipts for that long. Shopping at Marshalls is one of those things you have to be in the mood for because you're going to do a lot of digging. They have an absolute ton of stuff. A huge clothing section for women, teens, men, and children (although the womens and teens sections are definitely the biggest), they have tons of shoes, luggage and purses and other accessories, and a Home Goods section with just about anything and everything you probably don't need for your home. Rarely do I go into Marhsalls and automatically see the exact thing I need. I always have to do a little digging. You can find some great and unique things at Marshalls and typically for a great price as well. Their section of artwork and mirrors is really fantastic. They have just about every style you can image including lots of original signed pieces on canvas or in frames. You also can't beat their price on artwork. Also, if you're looking for bathroom accessories like soap dispensers definitely check out Marhsalls before you fork out double the price at Bed, Bath, and Beyond or Target. read more

Marshall's is one of those places that I check out every so often for hidden gems. I usually stick to the Home Goods section for unique and affordable decor pieces. As expected, it's hit or miss with what you'll find so there is a bit of hunting and pecking involved any time you shop here, and while that's not ideal for me I don't mind it when I'm in the mood. It's also not uncommon to see damaged items or things that are haphazardly placed on shelves. Checkout lines are usually super long. All in all it's not my cup of tea, but worth the experience for the occasional great find. read more

This store is actually a Marshalls + Homegoods. Homegoods is my favorite store but this one in particular was the cleanest and most organized I've ever seen. From start to finish, we received excellent service. Right when we walked in, a lady sanitized our shopping cart for us. The team members were helpful. The line was very long at the register but since multiple cashiers were there, it only took about 10 minutes. I am beyond livid with the customer service at this location! I can see why they have so many negative reviews. Let me start off with, I love shopping at Marshall's.. I love the items they have and I just flat out enjoy going there. So much so that I have a credit card with them! But my experience tonight was enough to make me want to call corporate on these rude women working here. I picked up a dress from the clearance section in the ladies department, it had a clearance tag and everything! It said it was $20 and it was cute so I figured I'd get it. It was the only one there, and it happened to be my size. After I finish my shopping and go to check out the cashier, Juana, proceeds to REMOVE the clearance tag on the dress and ring it up without saying anything to me as to why she just did that! I tell her that was in the clearance section and had the tag so why did she just remove the tag and ring it up at $50 (clearance said $20)? She says "this tag doesn't belong to this dress, this tag says Ladies" I tell her that's exactly where I found it was in Ladies IN the clearance section WITH a clearance tag. She proceeds to argue with me and I ask to speak with a manager while she rings up the rest of my stuff (none of which besides the dress were clearance). The manager, Sherry, comes up and looks at the dress and tells me "yeah this isn't clearance, we just got this shirt in yesterday" Um, what?? For one, it's not even a shirt.. it's a dress, it's funny how you miraculously remember that you just got it in yesterday yet you can't even remember what type of article of clothing it is.. So I tell her the same story I just gave Juana, that I found it in the clearance section with a clearance tag and it was the ONLY one. She then tells me, "yeah we only got one in our shipment yesterday". Oh, how freaking convenient! So you're telling me you just so happened to get only ONE dress (shirt according to Sherry) in AND it just so happened to be in clearance with a clearance tag on it?? It was a summer dress, why would they be getting a summer dress in during the month of December when the majority of their current inventory is winter?? I went ahead and purchased the dress at the $50 price tag even though this is COMPLETE false-advertising and they should not be arguing with the customer!!!!!!! Sherry was EXTREMELY rude and unhelpful, but that wasn't even the worst part of it. As I'm walking away, the cashier next to Juana tells Juana "what a b****" in Spanish. I happen to understand her because I'm half hispanic. So that was the icing on the cake, I will be calling corporate tomorrow. Bad store management. I had found a small 24" wide dresser gold painted with mirrors that I really thought looked cute. But there were a few places were the paint was chipped, the inside also had some chipped places. $200 for it was just too much. I asked one of the associates if there might be a discount for it, he said very kindly let me ask my manager. A few minutes later he came back with the store manager, I asked him the same question. I showed him the paint chips missing it before I could go into the inside he said, "That can be touched up with a pen. I'll discount $5 for the cost of the pen but I won't go lower. That is a $500 dresser. He looked incredulous that I would even ask." Mind you if you don't want to give a discount there are politer ways to say it. Most of the whole store is grossly overpriced, I found items that were same price or more that I could find at regular stores. The isles and items are messy and disorganized, be ready to bump in to some things. So if you think you can go to this specific store and find discounted items don't bother. Love this Marshall's Homegoods location!! Try to come every other week on Fridays. Today I just ran in to look at the rugs. My house was flooded and I'm looking to replace them. I found one I think is perfect for my bedroom. A very nice man got it down for me and pointed out a dirty spot on one edge. Because of the way the rug will go, it will be hidden by the bed. I bought it! And then I shopped and walked out with a couple of Rae Dunn pieces, Easter decor, and clothes for my grandson. They had so much stuff to look at!! Every register was open so there was only a short wait. The cashier was friendly and she called for Ethan to help carry my rug out. He got it in my car with a smile and a thank you and I was on my way! Love this store!!!!! read more

I love home decor and here I can decorate my home and make it look like it belongs in a Crate and Barrel magazine or a Pier One commercial but I pay a dealers price. Yes I like to save money and I like nice things that I don't have to give up an eye and leg for and what better place to go to get a good deal than Marshall's . Like a previous review I wrote about another Marshall's I find so many goodies here. Hair products, shoes, clothing and kitchen supplies. You can always find little knick knacks to give as gifts. Their clearance section is off the chain...(sometimes). But I have actually purchased some wonderful products and look forward to my visits there all the time. I can't say much about service here because its basically self serve. You go in, look for what you want and pay. Easy. read more

This place is terrible. There was a very long line (15 to 20 people) and only 2 cashiers. There were 2 employees having a personal conversation up at the front checkout where everyone could see that they weren't doing anything and they didn't open up anymore cashiers. Also, at another counter there were 2 other employees restocking who could have easily been temporarily reassigned to checkout. What happened to this place???? They cleaned it up and moved stuff around (which is good), but now selections are much smaller, especially clothing. Clothing is expensive now, and the juniors section is next to nothing, or repeats of same exact shirt/pants. Hopefully they will restock this place and this is temporary, because this and Ross are my favorite stores to dig around through and find treasures! read more

I love Marshals and shop there all the time and spend a lot of money. I had to return an item and accidentally brought the wrong Marshals receipt with me. The cashier was so rude to me for not having the receipt. She treated me like I had stole the item and purposely took forever to issue my store credit. It took 20 mins to take care of the issue and she was rude the entire time. I will not go back I will give the Garth road location my business in the future. read more

Horrible experience..I just left and I am so upset. I bought a shelf here on clearance couple of weeks ago. It was a little rough looking, but I figured, oh well, that's because it's a clearance item, and I could paint it if need be. The shelf ended up being a little bigger than what i needed. I couldn't find the receipt so I figured I could just exchange it for something smaller or just get store credit. I went back to the store to exvhange the shelf. The cashier who helped me had to call someone for approval, and when that someone showed up, she refused to help me. So I dragged this heavy thing into the store, waited in line for about 20 minutes, and then had this rude lady tell me, "it looks used, so I can't take it back." I told her it looked used because it was a clearance item, it is exactly the way I bought it. She said without a receipt she couldn't verify that. I asked her what difference does the receipt make ....the shelf looks the way it looks regardless. I wasn't asking for cash back or anything, only an exchange or store credit. Nope. I have shopped here a lot and spent a lot of money (and time waiting in their long lines) but I will NEVER shop at this store again. Ridiculous! !!!! I am giving one star because the cashier was sweet and asked me if I needed help out with the shelf. read more

Very sweet and helpful cashier Persia made this place tolerable. However, the 2 ladies in the dressing room were horrendous! They hassled me about bringing hangers to them on the way IN and OUT. One lady even ordered me to go retrieve the hangers! Instead of picking fights with the customers over whether they properly hang clothes why don't you stop being lazy and DO YOUR JOB? What are they paying these ladies for? Their attitudes were deplorable. I love Marshall's and have shopped at literally hundreds of Homegoods stores across the country. Never have I encountered such disrespectful behavior. I told the manager and even pointed out one of the ladies to her but I doubt she'll even confront them. Never coming back here. Besides the slow cashiers they tried charging me more for shoes. I literally took the shoe off the display because it was my size. It said $24.99. I'm checking out and she keeps insisting they're $38. O.o Two managers, three cashiers, and literally showing the manager the display and boxes underneath and they still won't give me the correct price! It took almost half an hour! $13 is important to me but fucking pennies to you Marshall's. Get your act together because that's just shitty as hell customer service and policy.
