This whacky store/museum is a must see when in the area. From snarky hoodies to beautiful seashells of all sizes to souvenirs to bizarre artifacts, this place is so fun. If you check in on Yelp, you'll get a tiny free shell or a piece of taffy. I bought this amazing tiger shell and postcards. I probably spent 90 minutes here looking at everything. I would have bought nautical decor they have like large glass floats had I not been in the middle of moving. Friendly employees added to the mirth.

Marsh's is a very quirky place, and is definitely worth a visit. Even if admission wasn't free, it would be worth paying a $5 for a $10. Despite Marsh's being billed as a museum, it's primarily a shop, but there is a lot of museum fodder around the periphery and tucked into corners. Their selection of sea shells is impressively vast. I had no idea what I was in for when I entered, but was surprised to see "Jake the alligator man". I'd seen this curiosity in documentaries over the years, just didn't realize it was located at Marsh's. I also was very impressed to see actual Orchestreons, bagatelles, and old-timey nickel peep show machines. I'd recommend a visit if you're in Long Beach. Definitely a unique and fun place to visit.

What a fun and unique place to visit! We had so much fun browsing the aisles looking at the everything from the relics, to the unexpected, and all the merch in between. Could be overwhelming if your are claustrophobic as we got there early in the morning and it was busy and when we walked passed again a few hours it looked packed! I can assume if you work here, you will never be bored. I absolutely recommend going here, multiple times.

Back in Mar 2022, I was on a road trip from Southern Cal to up north through San Francisco, CA, Portland, OR, and Discovery Bay, WA. I swung on by Long Beach, WA on my way back to Portland. Got a chance to shop at Marsh's Free Museum while I was waiting for my food from Captain's Bob Chowder. What a wonderful find! Honestly, I didn't know this store's name until after I got home and googled it for Yelp purposes LOL. Tons of old antiques and other neat stuff in here... bought myself a nice golden "Bee Happy" mug and a couple coasters "Love You To The Moon & Back" and "Let Your Faith Be Bigger Than Your Fear". Wished I got another "Bee Happy" mug so I can give it to the love of my life when I meet him LOL. Maybe I'll meet him somewhere or at Marsh's one fine day when I return to Long Beach, WA... LOL! Give Marsh's Free Museum a shop when you're in Long Beach, WA. It is truly free... no admission fee! It is indeed a museum. You can spend hours looking around in here... as for buying, that's another story LOL. Happy Looking and Shopping!

This place is so much fun! There is so much to look at not just to buy. There are old fortune machines and fun little games. Outside is the World's Largest Frying Pan! On the street close to Marsh's Free Museum and the World's Largest Chopsticks! .... Would only be better if they cooked off of the pan at least 1x a year.

GREAT place. It does deserve the caps. Lots of souvenirs and mystics of the world. A two headed cow, some weird aligator boy, and tons of great shirts. I got my fortune told my Madame Fortuna and it was spot on legit. Also, I found a nice couple of gifts for my sister's garden. A dried starfish and one of those Japanese floaty balls for nets. Highly recommend.

attention! Bring a giant bag of coins nickels dimes and quarters! What a cool spot! I knew I wanted to stop in here as soon as I drove by so while taking a lunch break I decided to try this and Captain Bob's chowder next door. Captain's Bob's was closed but Marsha's free museum was open. As soon as I walked in I was in awe. I wish that I had known I needed to take a bag full of change to play with all of the vending machine slash coin operated machines that they had next time I will definitely do it right. Lots to see and do definitely a spot to take the kids or a fun date night.

Jake the Alligator Man blew my mind, as did the other sideshow attractions and old time photographs adorning the walls.

This is a neat little pit stop from Long Beach, WA. There's a small museum that contains…read moreinformation about how harvesting cranberries was a difficult, inefficient process, until various machines and contraptions were made to make the process easier. The main method used today involves flooding the fields of the cranberry vines, so that the ripe cranberries float and can be collected for use in processing and making cranberry products. Each year at this museum they demonstrate this process during the festival. If the cranberries are destined to be sold fresh, then they have to be picked by hand as a "dry harvest". There is also a gift shop where various cranberry items are sold, including cranberry ice cream. The cranberry ice cream was more of a sherbet to me, although I'm used to the super premium ice creams so maybe I'm biased. It tasted exactly like cranberry with a hint of orange. It was good to try, but I'm probably not going to buy it again. Don't miss the self-guided tour of the fields in the back, where you can look at the cranberry vines.

What an interesting and fascinating find! Cranberries...and an entire museum dedicated to them?…read more Indeed, and the world's a better place for it. There are not a huge amount of things to do in Long Beach, and I came here as a backup thing to do since the kite museum was closed. I spent a LOT longer here than I would have expected to, as there is just so much to see and learn about. There are several cranberry bogs, replete with educational signage fully detailing what each is, what's being researched there, how the bogs are flooded for "wet harvesting", and that wet-harvested berries can only be used for juices, jellies, and sauces. I didn't know that all whole cranberries sold to consumers or for use in baked goods are hand-harvested. I also had no idea that such a huge variety of harvesting equipment existed, and that so many had come and gone after being proven to not be as good as other methods. Be sure to get a cup of the cranberry ice cream! It's delicious, and I really wish it was available closer to Vancouver. I highly recommend a visit to the cranberry museum if you're ever in Long Beach. It is educational, and fun!

Not to mention rentable yurts and cabins, (hot!) showers, (relatively) clean restroom facilities, and even a firewood delivery service, right to your campsite! Fort Stevens is also massive: miles of hikeable/bikeable trails, sandy beaches, a lake with a boat ramp, a shipwreck, a disc golf course, a military history museum (and gift shop), and several abandoned military installations and batteries to hike and explore. There's more to see and do here than can be experienced in a single camping trip, and after more than a half dozen visits to the park, I'm still discovering new secrets! Also, keep an eye on the various post boards around the park, in which special events, such as storybook readings, put on by the Friends of Fort Stevens, occur on many a summer night. As I mentioned earlier, this is camping only in the loosest sense of the word, in that you're sleeping outside (well, if you're not in an RV, yurt or cabin). The campsites are relatively small, and close together, but that is also part of the charm, particularly for children: they're all but guaranteed to make some new friends during your stay here, as there will be rugrats running around, skating, riding bikes, exploring, and likely yelling and screaming all around you, for as long as the daylight persists. Intimacy and privacy does not exist here. There are better places to camp in the Pacific Northwest, particularly for those who desire privacy, serenity, an escape from noise and the presence of others, and a place to commune with and be surrounded by nature (and nature only). Those places exist, but Fort Stevens is not one of them. Despite all that, I have a sentimental attachment to this place, thanks to childhood memories of camping here in my youth. Now, I'm hoping to impart similar memories on my children. Fort Stevens may not be *for* everyone, but it *has something* for everyone. If you can't see that, go get lost in the woods elsewhere.
