We came out there to vacation and enjoy the beach. My son and two of his friends saw the arcade and wanted to go in and play some games. Once they got in, they realized how expensive everything was--a $26 LEGO set would have cost nearly $500 worth of tickets to get. As they started looking around at the games, the lady behind the counter--who was white--kept watching my son and his friends, who are Asian. She suddenly ran over and told them there are cameras watching them. My son, who is 16, responded politely with "OK" and continued to look around. When he went over to the air hockey table, she rushed over, grabbed everything off the table, and locked it up. Then she proceeded to lock up all the games around where they were standing. At that point, my son realized he was being racially profiled. He felt extremely unwelcome and came back outside to me. It makes me sad that this arcade would treat kids like this--especially three teenagers simply wanting to check out some games. Just because they're kids and tourists doesn't mean they're up to no good. Of course they're going to want to play in an arcade. That's what it's there for. read more

My family goes to a lot of arcades. This is one of our very favorites. It has something for everyone. It's reasonably priced. It's CLEAN. It's open late. It has awesome laser tag. It has both older games and new. It's well kept. My husband loves that one of the games he played here in the 90's is still there, talk about nostaglia! We spent 3 days in a row hanging out here and the kids are asking to come back next summer. I'd call that a win! read more

This is the second time we've come to the Funland Family Fun Center. The first time was in 2018 and this time was even more fun for the kids! We love this place! Great location on the main Ave, tons of games to play for fun and for tickets and the place is incredibly clean. It's the cleanest arcade / fun center I've ever been in. Great selection of prizes, kind of weird there's no bathroom. A lot of the stuff is self serve, the kiosks to purchase and reload cards. Both Times we've visited have been in the spring so it's been desolate and cold so we have basically had the place to ourselves! If you have kids this place is great to stop at when you're in Long Beach. Games are fair priced, VR is a little steep but most other games are $1-$2 and worth the $70 we spent for 2 kids to play for an hour !! read more

Great place for a date! For around $20-$40 bucks you can have a ton of fun here. The arcade is spacious for how small it looks on the outside, and it's one of the cleanest arcades I've ever been to. The place was pretty empty since we came in on a Tuesday night, but the staff was super friendly and it felt like we had the place all to ourselves. For families- it didn't seem like there were as many games geared towards young kids, so just keep that in mind if you're bringing little ones. However, there was a large range of prizes for all ages and ticket amounts. Overall we spent about two hours here and had a fantastic time for very little money. We'll definitely be coming back when we visit Long Beach again. read more

Meh. All of the games only take a card that you have to buy for $1 and then add funds to at kiosks. Most games are $1-5 for each play. A bit steep, imo. However this is not what looses three stars for this review. The attendant was more than a little irritated and put out that we wanted to play laser tag. Once in the room, he began barking orders at us, was condescending, disrespectful and far more pompous than a family Funland attendant should ever be. Ordering us to "STAND IN THE BOX!!!!!", when there were no boxes to stand in. He clearly believes he above having to deal with the inconvenience of willing paying customers. Pretty sure we won't bother coming back after being treated as poorly as we were. read more

If you're going to go do the laser tag. The area was big and had a cool fog machine with good music. Our referee was a young man named Decan, he was awesome and had a great sense of humor. Great location with all of the tourist trade!!! Small, but decent arcade. Games seemed to be all in good order and offer a wide range of fun diversions. I am a die hard pinball nut (read: old school), so was disappointed in the lack of the classic pinball games. Sigh, 'tis hell getting old and outdated. Can be crowded on weekends and during the tourist rush, but that is to be expected. This location seems a wee bit smaller than the Seaside, OR location, but I may be wrong. read more

I need to start out with, we go to Long Beach every year and this year was no exception! The place is always clean, well staffed, and has modern and up to date games for the kids (ranging from 12-16 in my family)! Our main purpose os to play a multi Family game of Laser Tag and every year they treat us great and ensure we have a wonderful time! This year we left a couple sweatshirts there and I called them and they knew exactly where they were and Daniel was awesome in ensuring they'd send them back right away and that this happens often and they are used to it! We are very appreciative that it happens often enough that this is no biggie to them, but want to recognize that when an item left behind of "sentimental" value is left and they are quick to put me at ease and get the ball rolling that it means a lot! This place is fun for the whole family! They have a really good selection of high end video games to play as well as some old classics. There is a Spiderman pinball machine, Mrs. Pacman, Gradius as well as Time Crisis 3, The Fast and the Furious, Star Wars Trilogy and Guitar Hero. They have an indoor shooting gallery, a video game version of Deal or No Deal, Interactive games on huge touch screen monitors including Fruit Ninja. A new game named Dark Escape 4D that has a 3D screen and immerses you into the gameplay along with one of the newest arcade video games on the market named Lost Land Adventure. Add those to a 4 player air hockey table, a regular air hockey table, skee ball, basketball games, milk bottle ball toss, shoot down the clown, a horse racing game similar to skee ball, and lots of games where you can test your skill/try your luck to win either tokens or tickets. When you arrive, you need to go and purchase a Funland card. This card keeps track of all of the money that you load onto it so there is no need to fiddle around with 1's and 5's at some quarter/token dispenser or walk around with pounds of quarters in your pockets only to drop them when you are trying to continue on the game you just died on. Just swipe your card at each game and you're on your way to the high score. If you win tickets at any of the games, they will be automatically loaded onto your card for you to spend at the prize counter whenever you choose. They also offer you a bonus amount of credits for each level of money that you load onto your card so say that you want to add $20.00 to your game card. They automatically give you a free $5.00 credit. The more you add, the bigger the bonus and a really awesome thing is that these cards never expire. Come back in a few hours after enjoying other local attractions or come back the next day. Come back next weekend or even a year from now and the money and ticket balances will still be on your card ready to be used. As a guy who grew up in the 80's and 90's, I spent a lot of time hanging out in video arcades and even though I have a great appreciation for home video gaming consoles, I still love getting into an arcade with all of the lights and sounds and excitement that goes with it. My husband and I are 80's arcade fans... so we love this one!!! We come in every so often as we are full time Peninsula residents. This place is the cleanest arcade we have EVER been in!!! Even the cotton candy machine does not leave traces... great job Funland!! Your staff is great to! The game variety is top notch many games for every age! This is a great place to stop in and take the kids when the weather is cruddy out, which is just about every time we visit Long Beach. It's not the largest arcade but, I have definitely seen smaller. Since we had younger kids with us, we had to stop by this place. The highlight for me: $.50 games of air hockey (played two games with my husband and tied). I also played skee-ball, Deal or No Deal, and Monopoly pinball. Some of the games were reasonably priced, others under-priced, and others over-priced. Over 50 games so you may need to take more then one visit to play them all. You can get tickets depending on how well you play the games and use your tickets to purchase toys, candy and other fun merchandise behind the counter. Entertaining place to bring the kids. We spent $100 on fun cards my daughter won the jackpot on 3 different games and it did not register on her card. When pointing this out to the staff they were really rude and argued as if we were lying. I told them to go review the security footage and then come tell me I'm lying. I usually go into places like this with low expectations and assuming half the games will be out of order. This establishment exceeded those expectations tremendously! They have a really large selection of games and I think I saw maybe 1 out of order sign. And unlike a lot of arcade venues, it was really clean! Sorry, I work too hard for my money to have it ripped off so quickly. I gave two preteen grandchildren $15 each to play with, and it was gone within 20 minutes. They each came away with a plastic ball that probably cost $.29. They seemed to enjoy themselves, such as it was, but I can think of much better entertainment for your $$. read more

My kids give Funland 4 stars based on the selection of games and overall fun experience. My only complaint is that the cards your purchase to pay for the games doesn't always work. Sometimes it said we had zero balance when we really still had $10. We had to swipe it many times on some machines in order to work. We visited this past Friday, July 6th. I had 4 teenagers and they each had a card and were playing games. My 19yr old was intrigued with a game that had cool prizes like a Kindle, I-pod, Xbox console, etc. At $2 per turn, she was on her 5th turn when she successfully dropped the crane into the given hole to win the Xbox console. Imagine her surprise when the prize was NOT awarded. The owner was summoned and he stated he would need to test the machine to ensure she was being truthful. After he opened the machine and dropped the crane into the given hole....nothing happened. He tried a 2nd time and as it began to drop....he forcefully pushed the crane into the hole and a loud popping sound occurred and the prize dropped. He stated the machine was jammed and that it now worked. He refused to award the prize!! What this owner showed to my 4 teenagers is DISHONESTY! He tested the machine multiple times vs. the one time AND forced the cylinder on the 2nd and 3rd turn. Why am I sharing ALL this information??? Because my daughter WON the prize. We even wanted them to view any monitors that were present. My next step...Better Business Bureau and possibly the local law enforcement office as he refused to further communicate with us and made my daughter feel like she did something wrong for reporting the malfunction of the machine. Visit again? NO!! It left a bad feeling with us for the remainder of our visit. How does a parent try to justify a grown mans' dishonesty??? read more
