We have been going to Martellucci's for over 25 years. Their pizza in one of three best in the area, especially the Thin Crust Sicilian. The sauce is fresh and perfectly blended (not like many Italian restaurants that depend on sobbing their sauce with garlic so people think the food is good???). I will never order from Martelucci's again if they are going to sell a large pizza that is this small. This is like 12"-13" in diameter and a large pizza is typically at least 16" in diameter. Tastes good but if it can't feed my small family what is the point. How disappointing! First off I ordered on door dash, and the pizzeria did not acknowledge the order for 40 minutes, and until after the driver arrived. Then the driver had to wait for the whole cooking time. It arrived piping hot thanks to the driver. The most institutional flavorless pizza followed. One step away from a cracker crust. Like it came from a stadium or school cafeteria. This is the 7th pizzeria I've tried since moving to Bethlehem. I'm not a regular here as I've only had two experiences with their food, but each was sort of noteworthy so here goes. The first time, friends of ours who swear by this place insisted that we order take out from here as they do at least once a week and overall I could see why. We got various sandwiches along with a pepperoni & onion pizza and overall everything was really great. It was a weeknight and the person who made the call was told 30-35 minutes but in reality everything wasn't ready until closer to 45-50 minutes which he said is actually par for the course here. The next time maybe a month later on a Friday night I made the call and was told 45 minutes except this time the food took closer to an hour until it was ready. It's also worth noting that if you come here to pick food up and if it's not ready there really is no good place to hang out as you're right by the register/pizza making area, it's hot as hell along with being a very high traffic area. Again the food was perfectly fine but the wait was ridiculous as the time given bore no resemblance to the actual time it took for the food to be ready. I mean for me, we live on the other side of town from this place and there are a literal ton of similar places between here and there all peddling the exact same stuff. Would I go out of my way for their stuff? Maybe if they delivered but since they don't I can't see myself ordering from here often as while the food is good it's a heck of a wait until it's ready. read more

Just had a first and last experience..wanted to try them for the first time. After trying to call 8 times...no one answered. One rang so long the call disconnected. I really wanted to give them a try. So we tried one more time an hour later..only to be spoken to rudely..and dropped presumably on the counter top after being asked to hold a minute. Meanwhile I hear this women being just as rude to customers picking up orders and paying. Complaining about all the things she still had to do. More rudeness to customers and I think fellow employees as well. Arguing with a customer who asked for specific instructions on a pick up... Yes foolishly I waited this long because I really wanted to try their menu items. What's next...well..they rudely hung up the phone on me! Meanwhile..it was also a 10 minute opportunity to not answer any more order calls. Steer clear...if you really want to give them the benefit of the doubt.. and they don't answer the phone when you call..hang up and move on. To preface, I really wanted to like the Sicilian pizza at Martellucci Pizza, especially given all the 5 star reviews. I'm new to the Lehigh Valley, and haven't yet found a decent pizza. Unfortunately Martellucci's is not an exception. My review is limited to the thin crust Sicilian pizza, which I tried on 3 separate occasions (2 take-out; 1 eat-in). Reviewers say: "Delicious pizza!", "... real star ...", "... perfect." , " ... just awesome." , " ... magical." I say: You must be joking. Try this little test: can you hold the pizza slice horizontal by its crust? Absolutely not. It flops down and tears like damp cardboard, and the meager toppings tumble right off. There is no real flavor to either the crust or ingredients. And how insulting that they used frozen vegetables as topping on a vegetarian pizza. This contributes, I believe, to the dampness, glueyness of the crust. The pizza chef seems like a nice enough guy, but clearly he doesn't know good pizza either since he continues to make a really sub-par pizza. 3 strikes -- you're out. I shall never return here. Reviewers, should some of you ever try pizza in practically any average pizza parlor in New York City (or many other cities), you've got a real treat coming. From reading the reviews I was excited to eat here and knew that on a Friday night we should call and make reservations. So we called and were told that they had a table available right away. We told them we'd be there in 15 minutes and when we arrived (in 14 minutes) the place was packed, there were already 2 parties waiting for tables and they didn't save us a table. We mentioned we had reservations and they didn't bother to apologize or acknowledge us in any way and from the way the staff barked at each other it was obvious that we were going to wait for who knows how long. After waiting for another 10 minutes we left. No loss. I would give zero stars if possible. The parking lot is TINY and hard to access. The atmosphere is cozy, the seating areas are extremely cramped. There is one small bathroom, the entrance is crowded by seated customers. read more

This is the place for one of the best pizzas in Bethlehem - or even the whole Lehigh Valley. Love the owners and wait staff. On Friday-Saturday nights of high school football season, avoid this place (unless you're in high school, then it's the place to be.) The thin crust Sicilian is perfect. I don't know how to describe it but the crust has a taste and texture that's different from the other pizzerias in the area. If you feel a cold coming on, you must have the chicken and rice soup that is homemade by mama in the kitchen, it's the best. There are two points that I feel work very well in this venue's favor. The first, and biggest, is the pizza. This is quite possibly some of the best pizza I have ever had. It's very full of flavor and just the right size. The second point in their favor that I experienced was the atmosphere. While it feels very much like it hasn't been updated since the 1970's, it's very cozy. It definitely feels like a good family spot. Nice local joint. My husband and I popped in here for our first night in our new neighborhood after our whole block lost power. The waitress was super friendly and made us feel right at home. We both got cheesesteak hoagies. Not the best I've ever had, but definitely tasty. Our fries where nice and fresh - the perfect combo of crunchy and mushy. It is a casual restaurant for eat in or take out only. They take reservations which are highly recommended by the waitstaff on Fridays. A good find! As a 35+ year resident of Bethlehem, I have been eating Martellucci's since I was ten years old. I can say that there is not a pizza in the area that is like those served at Martellucci's. The unique crust is soft and chewy, but crispy on the outside, creating a highly desirable contrast, and the pies are as consistent as you will find in the Valley. They also happen to boast one the best value deals in the area. 2 Large Pies and 25 wings for $32.50. Perfect for that Friday/Saturday takeout for the fam! read more

There is nothing good about this pizza. There isn't a whole that's bad about it, either. It's all around pretty bland and not worth eating twice. Putting the pepperoni under the cheese is neat. That's my one plus. The sauce was boring. The crust was flimsy, a pizza needs a little crunch. The vegetable pizza was terrible. I'm not sure if any of the veggies on my pizza were cooked. The were hard, and once again, flavorless. How do you do that? Veggies have flavor. Tomato sauce has flavor. How can you make such a bland pizza? Look. I grew up in California. I know bad pizza. Delicious pizza!! My husband and I came here for lunch. We ordered a large cheese pizza. The pizza has a great crisp to the bottom and a nice spongy texture. I wouldn't call the crust chewy, it tastes fresh. The sauce isn't too sweet and the cheese has a nice blended flavor. The restaurant is small and busy for lunch. Also recently tried some pasta and was disappointed. Will try again but the pizza is so darn good, probably no reason to do anything else. First time in for pizza and was pleasantly surprised. Different than many. Crispy crust that is not thick and not too thin. Tangy sweet sauce, good with both the Hawaiian and pepperoni pizzas we ate.
