This company is still charging me a monthly $309 recurring charge 9 weeks after I stopped the service. I call each month and they apologize and say they will fix it, and yet they NEVER do. Four phone calls so far. Originally, the site promised delivery MWF to my father, but then they called and said they could only do T/Th, but would double up on the meals. That does NOT help a 90 year old who can't work a microwave. So I cancelled the service and I guess they just don't know how to cancel the charges. It's very expensive for what you get as a vegetarian. Beware! Once you set up recurring charge, you will NEVER get out of it. read more

Please be very cautious when engaging with this company. The food is borderline to delicious. When leaving bags at your door have them ring your door to pick up. The drivers are not trustworthy. They will look around your front porch area and see what they can take. I have on camera them taking items that didn't belong to them and unless I called police and company I would not have go it returned. Small value item, but this is not a company that I would want to deliver any food that would be put on my table. Management had laxed attituded in regard to her employee taking and opening something that didn't belong to her. How do I know that my food isn't opened next time? This is a violation. It started fine,the first delivery (2 days)of meals were ok, not great. The second delivery (3 days meals)leaves lot to be desired. Especially the last two days, their chefs should be fired. Since that was all I had to eat I ate it but hated every bite.The last days meal was the worst. After eating all day I felt terrible, stomach not acting well,started having the runs. So the I called about maybe continuing but discussed their pricing, Their 5 day program for 4 weeks. I asked why was their delivery charge so high over $260 that comes out for 8 deliveries $32 each delivery. That seemed to me outrageous since they were charging $19 for dinner and $13 for lunch. I could order from most restaurants for the same price and taste a hell of a lot better with free or $5.99 delivery. I discussed that with the person on the phone, questioning this and in the middle of the conversation she hung up on me. I have to say I am really impressed with this company. Taking care of a senior from miles away is not easy, and with so any medical restrictions, finding what they can and will is hard. I am so happy I found them. They manage to have a huge variety of tasty food and their customer service people are courteous and more important patient. Very impressed with the presentation/delivery/taste of the food. My 94-year old mother was no longer able to shop for and plan a meal so we were very lucky to have found Martha's Senior Gourmet service to help her live on her own a little longer in her beloved house. Unfortunately she has reached a point where even heating up a meal has become an impossible task (and she wouldn't let the caregivers heat it up either because it was "her" kitchen - sigh) so she had to move to an Assisted Living facility. Terrific company, David (the owner/manager) is great. Martha's had been strongly recommended to me by the staff at SF Kaiser after my Dad was hospitalized with an extremely high blood sugar level. After the deliveries started, my Dad stabilized pretty quickly. He also loved the food, and ate both the lunch and dinners 6 days a week. There was a lot of creativity with the meals, which included cuisine form around the world--Italian, Indian, Chinese, Mediterranean/Middle Eastern, and others. I also appreciated the ease and flexibility that I was able to make adjustments to my Dad's meal schedule, per David and his staff being always being courteous and professional on the phone. My mom, 84 years old, had to switch to a ultra low sodium diet due to congestive heart failure. I live out of state and to ensure that this change to her diet was followed left me searching the internet for help. I found Martha's Gourmet. My mom loves the food and is always commenting on the "neat" packaging. The level of detail that the chef goes to is amazing. Nothing is forgotten down to the little sprig of parsley on top. It makes my mom feel special and that she's not missing out by eating these meals. When I visit I make a point to share one of these meals with her and they are good! After receiving meals for about 3 months I asked my mom if there was any change that I needed to make and she mentioned that one of the meals was a meat dish that was very tasty but difficult for her to chew. I called Martha's Gourmet the next morning and asked if that one meal could be replaced with another. This was done immediately with no hassle at all. Besides having a great product, great packaging (with ice packets), great delivery the business side of this compare is very efficient, easy to work with and very kind.
