I ordered from Mealsdotkom every single week for months starting back in 2019 and into 2020 and 2021. I liked that it was a local, family owned company. I eventually got tired of the same food every week but we occasionally ordered here and there - most recently for May 4th. Unfortunately someone packed the wrong food into the bag with my name - annoying but resolved with a few phone calls and texts back and forth. We were told to put the incorrect food outside for pickup and they delivered our "correct" order. Chris Navarro, I sure hope you got fresh food since strangers unpacked your food and touched it before they realized it wasn't theirs. Now the reason for this negative review? They were out of brown rice so said they would send along a sub and refund the brown rice. Tell me why I haven't gotten this refund and have to chase it with no reply when the refund wasn't even something I asked for. I tried their LB Food Scene Week burger and OMG. I'm not usually into smash burgers, but this one was perfection. All of the flavors blended perfectly and added to the overall experience. For the most part, their meals are tasty and enjoyable! I love how MDK changes the menu every month so that you never get bored of the food choices. I prefer their fish, chicken, and beef options and I typically order the bulk protein so that I use it with whatever carb & vegetables I have at home. I love the bulk protein as it saves me alot of time from meal prepping. Any of the ground meat options I tried so far is either too salty or does not go well with the rice or noodle I have. Aside from that, pickup is extremely easy. You can either pick it up directly at their kitchen or at one of their partner locations. Also, two of my favorites are the Korean Sizzling Sliced Steak and the Khmer Char Steak. I like that there's a rolling scale that you can choose how much protein you prefer. Hands down the best meal prep service in this area. The quality of food, the taste, and the affordable price really can't be beat! I started ordering from MDK around back in October 2018. I don't even have an automated subscription (which is a plus as other meal prep services try to lock you in), yet I have literally been ordering every single week since I started with them. I can honestly say that because of their food I am down about 15lbs since October 2018. It's May now and I'm a firm believer of losing weight slow and steady as it's the only way I know I'll keep it off. Also, I used to be the biggest ground turkey hater in the world. To me Ground Turkey always tasted like Rubber and would always go straight into the trash every time I'd attempt to cook it. Along came this business that has now saved my diet... I'm on my second attempt at keto to lose another 80lbs after sucessfully losing 40lbs a year ago. I started Jan 6 and said I would do 3 months take a break for a week or two and go back to keto. I did great but spent too much money on days I didn't want to meal prep and ended up spendinging $15-20 or more on a salad, or a piece of protein and veggies getting take out. Sometimes I would just improvise and eat something that was still keto but out of a box with preservatives... I decided to try Mealsdotkom based on a suggestion by my Chiropractor at Nu Image in LB as was explaining to him some of the difficulty in shopping for groceries separate from my family with 2 small kids and how little time I had to meal prep. I have never ordered from a service like this before but have tried a mail delivery frozen and packaged/canned meal delivery (yuck!) I ordered for the first time 1 week ago with a 10 pack keto preselected meals for $100 but added the extra $20 for 8oz of protein instead of the normal 5oz as I am trying to keep muscle on while in ketosis. OMG that korean sliced beef was sooo good, the beef larb was delicious, the chicken satay was moist and the peanut sauce was delicious.... even the 2 meals I wasnt the biggest fan of with salmon and zucchini/ squash and the pepper chicken with bell peppers and cauliflower rice were ok but more based on how much I dislike zucchini and bell peppers lol, the quality was good. That said, the convenience of everything being there to just warm up when ready to eat was great. Even on day 5 the food was good and I am very finicky about eating anything precooked in my refrigerator for more than 2-3 days. First week down, and I am down 7Ibs after being off keto for a week and gaining back only 1. I reordered for week 2, and added some Hulu shrimp for the kids and wife to try. I am now excited to try each meal they send and they rotate all year long from what I understand. I can't stress how demoralizing it is (especially with the CV-19 pandemic) to have to sacrifice your diet because you can't find what you need at the store after working so hard to lose weight or to settle on eating something that just doesn't taste good or leaves you feeling icky. I highly recommend this meal prep service and plan on continuing to use them after I get off of keto and start incorporating good carbs back in. Oh and I picked up the order at the location in HB on Sunday, called when I got there and the food came right out by a great employee with a mask and gloves who put the food in the rear seat to maintain that social distancing.
