The #8 Vineyard Transit bus picks up across the street and from there you can go anywhere on the island. Lot of neat planes flying around, and biplane rides are available in season if you didn't bring your own. Word to pilots who haven't been here before: since there is no official taxiway diagram, print out a copy of the google maps image for taxi assistance. There are three runways and a bunch of taxiways, and with the tall grass it is not hard to get lost once you're on the ground. When arriving or departing VFR, give MVY tower a call and they'll authorize transit through their Class D airspace. Also, avgas is easy and reasonably priced, considering they're on an island.

The line through TSA was super short when I got here for a flight. The agents were all super friendly. No lounges, just a lot of benches. It can go from super empty in here to super packed really quickly. Boarding and landing is outside in the elements. Good thing I came when the weather was dry. There are shuttle buses to downtown via the Nantucket Regional Transit Authority. It was free when I visited. Taxis and rideshare (lyft and uber) also available. Car rental through Hertz and Windmill close-by. Operated seasonally (spring through early fall). Airlines include: American, Jetblue, Delta, Cape Air.

After a long travel day, dragging luggage that distance is definitely not ideal, so be prepared for a serious walk if you're renting a vehicle. Also... no Starbucks? Absolutely wild. For an airport, that honestly feels unbelievable. Sometimes travelers just want something familiar, quick, and dependable before or after a flight, and not having one was definitely noticed. The airport itself is currently under construction in some areas, but that had nothing to do with the rental car location or the lack of a Starbucks. Those were simply the biggest inconveniences of the experience for me personally. Other than that, the airport experience was decent enough, but definitely wear comfortable shoes and plan accordingly if you're renting a car.

It has frequently been renovated and always was nice but right now it is difficult to tell what's happening because there is so much construction going on all at once. This is resulted in crowding at the gates and into major inconveniences like the only bathrooms being at gate12 so if you're at gate one or two it's quite a walk to get there. Today's adventure started early in the morning because I had a flight at 8 AM so we arrived around six. I had a rental car and absolutely no idea how to get to the place to drop it off. The signage is poor at best after a few misfires, I finally found it and then begins my morning exercise. It is far from the rental cars to the terminal so the walk is quite formidable. They do have moving sidewalks which helps, but it just seems like an inefficient system for an airport of this size. The efficiency of the airport is excellent. One of the best TSA I've ever dealt with. Quick efficient and friendly. I use CLEAR plus and it literally took seconds to get through. But with an early flight, it would be nice to have some breakfast and the choices are dismal. There's a Dunkin' Donuts with a line that pretty much includes everybody waiting for a flight. There are two restaurants which are empty and there's no doubt in my mind that that is because of high prices unlimited food choices. Two eggs $24, chicken and waffles. $24. They're stuck on that steep number for not much of a breakfast. Would love some breakfast choices. We will see when the construction is over. All in all the efficiency of the airport, both at arrival and departure is excellent. That is why despite the problems while construction is going on and the long haul to get the rental car and return it it is still a four star experience. With a couple of tweaks, it could be five stars.

I think they could have a little something more than a couple of vending machines like maybe a snack shop or a Mcdonald's, although with the quick speed of how people come in and out of the airport, it seems they might not even need that. Lots of new outdoor furniture which could be pretty cool when it warms up to have a drink out there and watch the planes land and take off. The menu was good.... pretty diverse for all taste buds. I had the great hill ribeye at $26. It was good. I asked for medium but it was well done. Still good. Small portion tho and was very fatty despite being pretty burnt on ends. The cool thing is you get soup or salad with an entree and two sides. That makes the 26 bucks worth it. Kale soup was AMAZING. The bread served was those crappy rolls and they were cold. But once in my soup tasted great ;) The other guest with me had the Cobb salad. The chicken portion was small and it had a lots of salad on a little plate. Given they are new all the little things that I thought they improved on seem to be part just opening. Hopeful with time they become five stars! My suggestion increase your protein portions, get better bread, and your customers to cut into steak when you bring it out.

Pretty small airport with pretty easy access. $5 each for parking and landing for out of state…read moreaircraft. Runway 34 is fairly short and lots if birds around. FBO didn't seem to be always manned due to their other operations; they officially close at 4 local. If using 34, the turnoff for parking comes quickly, so expect you'll have to turn around on the runway; make sure you make the appropriate radio call!

I came in and asked for a fuel truck, for a top-off. He said, "ohhhh, we can't do THAT now. We are busy" I said, oh, ok... well, when you have a chance. His response, "I don't when that will be," me, starting to get pretty annoyed "well, when you get free, just top it off!" He says, "oh, we need to know exactly how much fuel you want, we can't just 'top it off'. I said, wow, you've got to be kidding me, we'll just go somewhere else. He said, "maybe you should" We left, went to another airport to top it off and came home. We've never experienced such rudeness and outright TERRIBLE customer service as here in Cape Air at PVC - and I've traveled the world as a professional pilot for many years.

Ours was full with eight people and rather bumpy -- although mild apparently! It's only 20 mins to Boston. Can't beat it!
