So when our crawl space needed some work Jay with TriStar was one of the people I called to get an estimate from. Not only was he very responsive in coming out and giving an estimate, but his estimate was less than another well-known contractor I talked to. When I decided to wait for months before deciding to do the work, Jay was very professional about it and his original estimate still applied four months later. Once I hired him, the work went very smoothly. Jay is really easy to communicate with and he clearly communicated to me about what would be done and when, and stuck to it! The work was done well, on time and on budget. When there was a freak problem (a nail somehow got driven up from the crawl space through the hardwood floor in our living room), I texted Jay about it...he texted me back immediately and had someone at the house a couple days later to repair the issue, no questions asked. I can't even tell where the nail was now! I've heard horror stories about bad contractors who aren't reliable or responsible and are hard to get ahold of and communicate with...TriStar is the complete opposite of that. I liked them so much, I wanted to expand my quote to include some plumbing and electrical work. This is when things took a turn for the worse. I needed a quote to give to my title company so they could cut a check for closing. I called MCH EVERY DAY for almost two weeks. I spoke to the front office, I spoke to one of the owners. I sent them an inspection report so they didn't even need to go to the house site. I NEVER got a quote. I ended up going with GNC plumbing who quoted me TWICE as much as the original MCH quote but immediately got back to me and got the work done in a quick and timely fashion. I would not recommend this company, despite the fact that some of their employees are great. They had an opportunity to make a really nice amount of money off my closing costs/title company and missed out due to sheer unprofessionalism. They made getting work done on my new home extremely stressful.

Professional, timely, extremely polite and very skilled at what he does. Couldn't be more happy with the entire service, from Lowes, Renovations Plus and Jesse I. himself. I'm an HVACR guy, and even though water heaters aren't my forte I do understand that you need to know what you're doing when installing these newer ones. Jesse knows what he is doing, the install was done beautifully. As for the invoice (the cost of the AO Smith and the work), it was very reasonable. I do not feel like I was ripped off. Like I said, I'm an HVACR tech, so I understand how appliances and labor in these fields are priced. And what I paid was worth what I received. Our remodel was just finishing up as their project was starting and I strongly believe some of what is said below is wildly fabricated. Josh was nothing short of a consummate professional on our job. Did everything go perfect? No - does it ever on a major home renovation project? But Josh made sure every single issue was taken care of. Including when an electrician royally screwed up our wiring. Josh lost a lot of time and money having it redone and didn't even try to up-charge me for the difference despite the lost time, materials and re-do of the job by a new electrician. Even months after the job was done - he has come back to fix minor issues that pop up (grout fixes, etc) and has never charged us one extra penny. I have recommended Hastings to several friends and neighbors - including a friend who has them doing a full second story addition on their house right now and is very happy and our neighbor who runs a major house flipping company (tv show) and he has hired them on to help him as well.
