Stay FAR away from this garage. A mechanic at this garage clearly has anger issues and verbally threatened me. I had never used this garage before this incident. They happened to appear on Google as open on a Saturday, and the garage I normally use is closed on Saturdays. I just dropped my car off for an inspection (literally--hours before writing this review). They said the car should be ready to pick up within the hour. I didn't anticipate any issues with inspection, but you never know if there's something wrong that would cause it to fail. That being said, I'm fairly knowledgeable with basic car maintenance and can tell when I'm being scammed. I received a call less than an hour later, with the mechanic (whose name I didn't catch, he appeared to be the only mechanic working at the time, latino guy in his 30's) saying that there were a number of issues with the car, ranging from suspension, to power steering, to who knows what else, and that they weren't "even going to try to do an inspection until we get that car on a lift." This set off a bunch of red flags. I'm not a mechanic, but fairly certain none of these things were true. I said on the phone, "no thanks, I'll just come and pick up the car." I swing by about 30 minutes later to pick up the car. When picking up the keys, the mechanic gave me the riot act. "The car needs this, and this, and your pump is going, and your belt is going to snap..." etc. Since, ostensibly, he "didn't get the car on a lift," I'm not sure how he was able to diagnose all of these problems. I said, "OK, thanks," took the keys, and left the office. The mechanic proceeded to also leave the office and follow me out to the car. He said, "I think you're f**king disrespecting me, walking out of the office like that." I said, "no, sorry, I said thanks." He said, "You know, I could've f**king scraped that inspection sticker off of your car, don't walk away from me when I'm talking to you." I said, "I'm going to put this on Google and other review sites, you're being threatening." I then got in my car, and he proceeded to open the back door of the car and yell, "you're f**king disrespecting me, I'm going to kick your a**." I said, "please close the door or I'm going to call the cops." He closed the door and I drove away. I don't think I'm going to file a police report because I'm not sure what good that is going to do here, but I IMPLORE you to avoid this garage AT ALL COSTS. I sincerely believe that this mechanic may end up hurting someone. read more

This place has the worst service I've ever seen from any company. (Not returning phone calls, yelling and hanging up on you when they do answer). The value will leave you broke, this buisness did not disclose charges that were accruing and are clearly here to scam you. We lost thousands. Do not come here, and if your car gets towed here, pay whatever it takes to get it out of there as soon as possible. read more

Don't ever come here my car got towed to there impound and I was charged $600 to retrieve my car after it sat there for only 4 hours

Please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Seriously! First part- My windshield wipers where not working, I figured it was an easy fix and drove in to have them checked. I was told by the "mechanic" that I needed a new motor for it. Ok, I need the wipers to work, so yes, fix it. I was charged over $325.00 for this work. It literally took them less than an hour to "fix" it. Fast forward 4 days later, its a light snow I go to turn on the wipers--nothing. I call them, I drive over to them and explain what's going on. I wait 40 minutes and then I'm told that I need a transmission for the wipers. I'm sorry, you fixed them less than a week ago, what are you talking about? well, the transmission is different from what we replaced. I just had them to put my car back together and hightailed it out of there. my actual mechanic them said it was all one cohesive unit that should have been replaced at the same time. I didn't stress it anymore and wrote them off. Fast forward to yesterday... Deep sighs. My car literally slowed to a crawl fifty feet from this hell hole. I had NO CHOICE but to leave my car here. I was on my way to work and it was still relatively early in the morning, they were still closed. I reluctantly left to work in a cab. When my husband called to get information, he was told that they installed a used battery and it was 45.00 and that it also needs an alternator, he was quoted $950.00. We decided to have the insurance company pick up the car and take it to our mechanic. we paid Martines 155.00 for having looked at the car. The aforementioned battery wasn't ours to keep although he charged us for it. The car was picked up and taken to our mechanic. for the same thing, new battery and alternator, we were charged $426.00 Please avoid this place they are in the business of ripping off people that are just trying to survive. read more

A little over one yr later and the same problem. They were SUPPOSED to hv fixed the overheating issue but just spent amother $221.00 to fix. Repair shop tells & shows me the terrible work the last shop didn for a repair. Spliced wires coming undone. Black electrical tape peeling away. Whicj lead to a short in the radiator wiring. DONT EVER COME HERE THEY ARE CROOKS AND SCAMMERS!!Unfortunately 1 star is being too kind to these thieves. A few months back my husband took our cars to get fixed here now at first I warned my husband about the bad reviews but he continue to give the old man the benefit of the doubt that he wasn't a cheat but I guess he learned his lesson with that one. He bought in his Honda Accord to have his catalytic converter changed and now in the past they have always given us the old parts back but this time he didn't and about an hour later after the catalytic code came back and that was the last time we decided to ever go back there. And now recently I was in a front rear collision and I asked the office on scene that I didn't want my car towed and that I was going to call my insurance but they ended calling these thieves. Martine tow guy never asked me where I wanted my car towed at all and when I arrived to their shop the old man refused to give me a price refused to release my car and refused to have my car towed by someone else and also refused to tow my car home. martines service center will rip off and they will continue to so As long as they remain open read more

The way these people do business should be illegal. They have quite a set-up, being the tow service on call for the state police in the Middletown area. When my car broke down on Route 17 last year, the police called them and even though I wanted to wait for my husband to see if he could get the car started, I was told that I would be charged the towing fee because they made the one mile trip out to my location. They would not tow my car to my house or my mechanic, which were both about 5 miles away - but would ONLY tow to their own garage. Then they charged me a daily fee for "storing" my car - even though I came back just a couple of hours later to pick it up and tow it home ourselves. They locked the car behind a chained, fenced-in area and refused to give us access until we paid the ridiculous towing fee and daily storage fee. The car had broken down by the exit ramp to 211 (which they are right next to). I learned two things that day. Don't ever let the police call for a tow truck - and NEVER use Martine's Service Center for anything. read more
