If I could give 10 stars I would! Luis and Ruben are total rock stars!! They loaded up 2 storage units and unloaded everything into our 2 story house in 3.5 hours. Nothing was damaged, not even a scuff on the wall. These guys are so efficient and so polite. Excellent experience with this small family-run company. I was given a free quote with one of the owners walking through my house - which I think gave a more accurate quote than an online form. The bid was more competitive than several other companies I interviewed, and I really like that 1 of 2 owners supervise the crew on moving day. They pulled up on time, brought 4 movers, and loaded/unloaded a 2 story house to another 2 story within 6 hours. The crew was very courteous and respectful with all items and worked really hard. What was even more impressive was the only "damage" was a small scratch on a chair leg... which, for a large move like ours, is really quite impressive. When asked to move pieces of furniture, they did so with a positive attitude. I would use them again and refer them to all of my friends and family. read more

Good experience overall. We went from a 2 story condo to 2 story house, and everything went smoothly. They worked hard and never took a break. They brought the necessary moving material (dolleys, wheels, protective cloths, and straps). They asked questions when they weren't sure of placement, and asked about extra protection before they got started. The price was better than 4+ other mover quotes. Overall good experience. Hey yelpers, lend an ear! As we all know, the process of moving is usually a treacherous and terrifying endeavor. There's a great deal of responsibility and trust to consider when you're hiring someone to handle all of your worldly possessions. I've moved upwards of ten times in my life and up until this recent experience, I've found that any moving company I've hired has only made the challenge of moving seem like an even bigger undertaking. I have horror stories of many broken valuables (RIP to all of the kitchenware I've lost), no call no shows on the scheduled day of the big move (get a planner please), disgruntled and disrespectful movers trampling through my home, irreparable damage to the condition of my house. But my experience with Martinez movers was nothing like the ghosts of moving past--this company is hands down the best one I've used yet. I knew things were off to a good start when they contacted me to let me know they were on the way and arrived at the time we actually had scheduled. The crew showed up and had a Supervisor with them on site, which immediately made me feel like my move was going to be handled professionally and with good care. The crew leader walked with me around the house and did a verbal run through of everything I wanted them to load up onto their truck, which saved a whole lot of time and energy during the actual hauling in and out of boxes. They thoroughly explained reasonable policies and gave me the opportunity to ask any questions I had before getting down to the deed. What I found most noteworthy and easing about the walkthrough is that the crew leader expressed no hesitancy or resistance to anything we needed. Box up all of the backyard lights? No problem. Dismantle two gigantic beds and carry them down the slender staircase? We've got you covered. I felt like I could trust them right on the spot. Throughout the move process, I literally just sat on my front lawn for the four hours they carefully and systematically moved everything out of my house. They wrapped absolutely every item of furniture in thick blankets and plastic wrap, ensuring that there would be no damage to my possessions. When they got the item into the truck, the Supervisor was there helping direct where the items were going to go to ensure the maximum amount of space was achieved. And wow. Just wow. I was highly doubtful that any truck would fit all of the items in my home. We had refrigerators, washers and dryers, backyard furniture and plants, literally every piece of large furniture you could imagine going into that thing. And because of the methodical packing, that truck was safely stacked making sure no item was left behind. That's huge! In my darkest days, I've witnessed several moving companies who will fill the truck, charge you a trip charge to your new address, go back for a second load, and then charge you another trip charge all while collecting hourly fees. Not these guys. I asked my movers to move some of my furniture out to my lawn and again, happy to do it. I accidentally forgot to pack up the sheets on one of my beds, they put it in a box for me and made sure they made it onto the truck. Everything was "yes ma'am, of course." And even as they were lifting items that could rally the weight of a school bus, they genuinely looked like they were having a good time at work. No frustration or ill tempers, which always makes for an awkward situation when you're watching this whole process play out. When we got to the new house, they were thorough about checking to see which boxes we'd like in each room. All the while, the supervisor was still on site reminding them to handle the items with care. Not only were they respectful and knowledgeable about how to handle my belongings, but they were also efficient -- in the eight hours of work, they took only one ten minute break to eat lunch. Before they were done, they had me check the entire house to make sure that all the boxes were in the right places for me. They were very eager to help move any items that were placed accidentally incorrectly, and did not leave until everything was assembled and in its place. Another HUGE highlight is that throughout this process, not one of the four movers we had made me feel rushed or like they didn't have time to complete what I needed. So often in the past, moving companies have tried shuffling off to other appointments and have left me high and dry with half finished work and a heaping pile of frustration. When Martinez movers left, I felt taken care of and appreciative of these guys who worked so hard to make sure we were satisfied. And best for last? They were affordable on top of it all. No gauging or penny pinching. This is a family business that you can feel good supporting. And after unpacking 65 boxes and seeing that there were no items dented or broken, I'm happy to say that I will continue to give them my business any time I need an extra hand. read more

Communication with these guys are on point, I booked with them ahead of time and even through email, they were professional. Our moving day came and being about 2-3 hours out from our new place, timing was a little up in the air. We were informed they were running a little late once we gave them a 20 minute window of when we'd arrive. That was basically the only inconvenience. Once both movers showed up, they were on it! We moved from a 3 bedroom one story to a 3 bedroom two story and a lot of heavy items went upstairs. It felt like VIP service. All the furniture was carefully disassembled as needed and wrapped. At the new house it was reassembled and placed exactly where my wife wanted. I arrived as the move was being completed and was blown away by the results. And they didn't leave before moving a few pieces that my wife wanted rearranged and asking if everything was to our liking. And the cost? Way under the other bids we got. Others wanted $1300 to $1700 for the move but our total was just under $900! Excellent all around and would definitely recommend them. read more

Our movers we originally hired disappeared on us and were completely unresponsive for 4 days so we called Martinez movers and they were here within 1.5 hours of our calling to help us move. The team did an absolutely fantastic job! Some of the tasks were not easy as we have a 3 story home but they made the absolute best of it, even bringing their own truck to help us move things from the moving truck on the second floor to the bottom floor with our steep inclined driveway. They were so good about letting us know what damage had been done to our furniture and boxes by the other moving company we hired to load our truck. Making sure to point it out to us in the truck before they even moved it. The manager of the team was so amazing with our antique furniture. I wish they could have helped us load the truck too because I feel they would have done a better job but we were coming from out of state. read more
