I needed movers for some appliances and heavy furniture so I came to yelp and input everything I needed and started receiving quotes from different movers. Brandon from meticulous moverz was the only one who took the time to really listen to what I needed and gave me a proper quote. When I explained that I needed movers for some appliances, and heavy furniture only he took the time to find out how many people would be needed and how much time it would take and gave me an excellent rate! He was able to get everything done in two hours for $350. Whereas other movers told me it would take an estimated six hours and cost almost $700! Brandon is so professional and well mannered and has excellent communication. He let me know that it would be a two hour minimum with a 50% deposit payable upfront, he communicated estimated arrival time as well as let me know when he was on his way. We hired this company (specially Brandon) to help move our belongings to our new apartment. I do want to start by saying the team was very friendly and accommodating, especially when we ran into unexpected issues with our leasing office not giving us keys when previously agreed. They were patient and worked with us through that situation, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. Despite being told multiple times that the truck was "fully loaded," we returned to find several large items still left behind in our garage (see photo). These weren't small or easily manageable things -- they were exactly the type of items you hire movers to handle. At no point was it communicated that anything was being left. That's the biggest issue. If something doesn't fit or can't be taken, that needs to be clearly stated in the moment -- not discovered after the fact when we have already paid ($1100+) no longer have a way to transport it ourselves. What made the situation even more concerning was the complete lack of communication during the move. At one point, we lost track of them entirely (no response for nearly an hour)... as a result my partner ended up having to drive (12 minutes) back to the old apartment to find the truck leaving, then had to follow it for an extended period of time due to genuine concern about where our belongings were going. There were multiple wrong turns, and later the explanation given was that one phone had died and the other was in the back of the truck and couldn't be accessed. All of this happened while they had our garage door opener and full access to our home, which only added to the stress and concern. No customer should be put in a position where they feel they need to monitor movers to ensure their belongings are safe. We understand that moving days can be hectic and things don't always go perfectly, but clear communication and follow-through are the bare minimum -- and both were lacking here. While we appreciate their friendliness and flexibility, the job was not completed as expected, and the lack of transparency left a bad impression. If you use this company, I would strongly recommend confirming in person that everything is actually loaded before they leave. We won't be using them again. read more

We used Meticulous Movers for an interstate move. It didn't go well. We did a walk through and were quote $8500. I specifically had a conversation about how it would work for settling up and I said that I just didn't want to end up having a $5k surprise bill at the end. He chuckled and said thats not going to happen. Well, it ended up closer to $4k extra, but that wasn't even the big problem. We agreed that they would do most of the packing on Thursday, finish up Friday, if necessary and hit the road, drive Friday & Saturday, and get in Sunday and unpack. On the packing day, he showed up in a 20ft Uhaul. We were surprised that it would fit in there but were ready to defer to the experts. as the day went on, it was clear that they needed more packing help, and that it wouldn't all fit in, but he insisted it would fit. At the end of the day, the truck was full and he agreed to come back in the morning with a trailer. When he came back in the morning he proposed putting the rest of our stuff in a storage and bringing it to us in a month. We didn't think it was a reasonable solution given that we had hired him to get all our stuff to our new home in 2 days. He kept bringing up this idea again and again. He ended up needing a 26ft truck and a 6x12 trailer and it took a full extra day to get our stuff loaded. The next issue was that as they got further behind they became careless and several items were damaged in the move and a wall was damaged a decent amount. I understand that some damage is to be expected in a cross country move, but not because of obvious careless packing... Lastly, he hires local people off of Nextdoor in the cities he moves people to (we didn't realize this), so it wasn't people he knew and I was suddenly having to trust them with my stuff and one was clearly stoned. Still, it all could've been fine if at any point he just owned up to mistakes, but instead, he just got careless and got rude and dismissive toward my wife. I was enthusiastic about hiring a local company instead of a big mover, but in the end, it added extra stress to the move, items were unnecessarily damaged, and the move ended up costing much more than quoted. It sounds like it was a one off bad experience, but certainly was an unpleasant experience for us. read more

Tbh I was really happy at first. I was finally moving from a really crappy apartment that I had to temporarily move into for 6 months. This move was super hard cuz I had lots to move, or throw away. They were awesome initially. Helped me get the trash out to the garbage and all. I really appreciated them. I had separated my stuff COMPLETELY. I know it was a lot because basically I was clearing a whole other house out as well. I know for a fact I had certain boxes packed up, all put to one side and they were all stacked together. No boxes that were taped up were in the garbage side. Again, I had everything a completely Separated on two different sides of the house. What was going to the new house, and what was going to the dumpster. I dk how, but somehow 4-6 brand new, taped up and labeled boxes made it to the dumpster. Again, no packaged, closed up boxes were on the garbage side. So how these got to the dumpster? I dk. But in this was kitchen necessities like my $150 air fryer, waffle maker, lots of kitchen knives and utensils. I also am missing my laptop and my Prada sun glasses and accessories were also let out by the dumpster. The reason why I know this happened because my neighbors called me, saying there's perfectly good boxes all taped up by the dumpster and people were going through them. I told her I'm missing boxes and she was able to get back my air fryer, and waffle makers from the boxes. The other ones had already been rummaged through by people. I'm missing a lot of things that I personally packed. I know this move wasn't easy because it's just me, and they helped me move a lot, and up to 3 floor apartment. But no one's doing me a favor, I paid. I also paid them to put up my bed for me as well. I dk if any of this was with ill intent. But basically I'm down so many kitchen and home appliance stuff that went to the dumpster in perfect good boxes that I've spent so much money repurchasing things, more than it cost me to pay the movers. I was really hoping to use them again, as we are purchasing land and will be moving early February. But with the negligence of the boxes, I need to find a company who actually cares to get my stuff to me.
