I called for an estimate for re-roof Before my 28 year old roof starts leaking. Jason arrived 2…read moredays later at time promised. He assessed condition, gave me brochure for products they use and provided a fair estimate the next day. Their crew of 4 craftsmen arrived 10 days later completed the entire job (single story home) in only 8 hours spread over 2 days. The crew was very respectful of my property and completely cleaned up the job site. The owner (Jerry) even payed a visit at the end of the job which i thought was a very professional and classy thing to do. The other thing which is impressive is Protec roofing is based in Bakersfield and my home is in the Tehachapi mountains which is about 58 miles away. The roof looks OUTSTANDING ! Thanks Protec roofing.

I have always had this concern with anything that has a really long warranty... Will the company be…read morethere to service the warranty or is it all just a big scam. Well, I had a roof done about 9 years ago by a company that does not exist any longer. But that company was bought by Bakersfield Roofing. That roof has a leak, so I contacted the original company, which forwarded me to this one. It was a crazy stormy weekend, which is pretty rare in Bakersfield. I left a message that stated something about how I was surprised they were not working because of the crazy weather (it was a Saturday). They never call me back. So I follow up with them, and this is really what the review is about. When I call them again on Tuesday, the owner actually answers the phone. He tells me that he thinks my comments about working on the weekends is rude and that he is entitled to a vacation. That is how it started. I explain how he bought my warranty, and he says he doesn't think that is how it works. I told him I am sure it is how it works because I have seen lawsuits about it. He keeps making very aggressive comments at me, and when I try to respond (in a nice way, trying to get on the right foot), he cuts me off and says he is not going to argue with me. He did this like 5 times... Makes and inflammatory comment, I begin to respond, and then he cuts me off and says he is not going to argue. Then he started asking me if I did something to the roof, and I said, just go look at it. He finally does, which takes way longer than I would have expected. He did some kind of patch or sealing according to the tenant and is supposed to call me back and explain what is going on. He never does. I call him a week later and he made some excuse about HVAC people needing to seal things anytime they are up there (never heard that one before). Blah blah blah, he kept making weird excuses and speculating on what happened. I just want it fixed so it does not cause damage to my property. Bottom line is that even if his work is good and he is knowledgeable I would never work with a person that is this difficult to communicate with. At this point I think he still thinks he does not owe me any warranty service, so let's hope nothing else happens. Adding this after his response: This is exactly the response I would have expected from Jerry. I don't have a problem ordering or paying for work. I have a problem with vendors that are rude, call me names, and like to start blaming everything else before they even get to the job. You can tell from his response that Jerry doesn't understand that my issue is that he is rude, difficult, and unprofessional.

Since I bought my house I've been doing home improvement projects a bit at a time. One project on…read moremy list was replacing the old windows with some new, nice energy efficient windows. I called SoCal and had them come out and give me a quote. The salesman was fantastic, he was very clear and gave a great demo of the glass options available for the windows. We ended up going with the Anlin Catalina series and couldn't be happier. SoCal Energy stayed in contact with me about the progress of getting the windows in and they did the install a day earlier than originally though. The team was on time and got right to work, they replaced all 7 windows and my sliding patio door in a few hours and the work was great. My wife and I are very happy with the windows and patio door, the quality of the glass is great and the frames look really nice. I'd highly recommend SoCal Energy to anyone looking to upgrade their windows or doors.

This was the most miserable consumer interaction I have ever experienced. I was seeking window…read morereplacement. Was given a fair estimate however the sliding glass door/windows were measured incorrectly and the new windows were manufactured too small. The installers discovered this upon installation and left my old aluminum windows in place and installed the new windows within them. The new slider was two inches shorter and two inches narrower. They filled The discrepancy with foam and attempted to cover their error with a cheap plastic trim that did not match the window. In addition, I had ceramic tile installed in front of the slider based on their assurance that the tile would not be touched. The first thing they did upon installation was cut the tile. At the end of the day the slider was left with the old windows and the foam exposed and no caulk or grout in the space created by cutting the tile. The company also did not pull a permit as required by my city. When I complained I was told it was not 'rocket science' and that even my son could install the trim, etc and basically finish the job. They further refused to rectify the situation stating it would cost them too much money! A horrible experience I am still dealing with. I would not recommend them.
