He mentioned the the roof in in good condition and it'll still last another 5years or more. Rain water had gone under the shingles and damaged the plywood overtime. A few hours afterwards, his subcontractor replaced the damaged water line with a pex line and efficiently fixed our water leak problem in the attic space. We had contacted 4 businesses in town for bids. 1 said they couldn't touch a kitchen for less than $50,000. 1 never showed up to the appointment for estimates. 1 was 3 hours late and then bid us very general figures and wouldnt get specific. DA construction was the only company that broke things down line by line, had reasonable pricing, and a personable project manager. We ended up going through this process to get the loan and needed lots of signatures and stuff from the company. Our project manager was always really polite and never complained even when our lending agent dropped the ball and created delays, extra paperwork, etc that effected our project. We ended up deciding on a kitchen remodel, a closet remodel, a new sliding door to the master, and a few other very minor tweaks (adding a few outlets, etc). I had a vision that was pretty good, but we worked together to brainstorm a few of the design solutions that I'm absolutely loving! We were working with a fairly tight budget and I'm also really hands on when it comes to DIY (I like to do some of my own house stuff! It's part of the fun) so we installed the floors, painted the walls, bound the appliances we wanted, and did most of the baseboard ourselves. DA did everything else and I love the way it turned out. There were a few delays and minor bumps along the way, but our project manager ALWAYS made sure we were happy with the end result. Overall it was a good experience! Hired this company to remodel our bathroom. Guy named Chad came over to take a look at our old…read morebathroom. My wife and I discussed with him the type of bathrrom that we want. He took measutrements and a couple days later came up with a quote and contract that we had to sign. Company asked for a 1k deposit and work began. At this point we have yet to receive a copy of the signed contract so I contacted the company and spoke with Porter who furnished me a copy via email for expediency per my request (hard to go through the emailed contract, however, as opposed to a hard copy). To make the story short, construction of the new bathroom was done at their estimated completion date. To our surprise, however, there was no glass enclosure. When Chad came over for the walk through and to collect the balance payment, we asked why glass enclosure was omitted. He said that's how some bathrooms are constructed, but it's not what we wanted per our initial encounter. For one thing, the old one that was torn down had glass enclosure. He replied, "Well, we satisfied the contract". We ended up paying over 31k that we thought was inclusive of the glass enclosure, but ended up hiring another company to install it. I'm partially to blame for not examining the contract closely (lesson learned), but then I'm not familiar with construction lingo. Makes me wonder why contract was not delivered promptly. There seems a lack of transparency on their part.
