Martin's is a local favorite. Food is tastes good, prices are good and service is great. It's a great date night location, dinner with some friends or lunch with coworkers. It used to be considered a hole in the wall but it's anything but that. They have a section for late night live performances and a nice patio with inside dining too. My favorite dish are the steak bites. Seasoned well and cooked to your liking, you can't go wrong with this plus you get two sides!

My nephew comes over from Australia and visits some times. We have started a mission to find the best Po Boys everywhere we visit in the South. We have been working in down town Jackson Mississippi and are proud to crown Martin's the title of the best catfish sandwich in the capital district. The loaf was oven fresh and crusty, the catfish local and farm raised from the delta, lettuce crisp, tomato ripe and hard, the tartare sauce tangy. Catfish Po Boys are based on simplicity. Get the basics right and you will impress. Martin's does just that. If it's a nice fall day in down town Jackson, the patio and Po Boy is a great lunch choice. We found the Martin's experience to be the best.

Decent Old Fashion. It'll get you to where you need to be

Great food and service. Cannot complain about anything here. Will be doubling back to this spot when I'm back in the 'Sip

The fried clams are good but I could have drank the comeback sauce !! I ordered more it's that good.

This is a bar restaurant we sat inside on a hit Sunday afternoon, there was outdoor seating for cooler days. My husband had the steak gyros. I had deep fat fried Oysters, ok very crispy breading. The onion rings were delicious probably because the comeback sauce is one of the best I have had in Mississippi! We got to set ourselves and got a very efficient and friendly waitress.

Food is always great but service can be a little slow at times because it's always busy. The outside seating area is a nice addition

We started eating here probably 30 years ago when it was the OG. Mike always got the crawfish enchiladas and I got the habanero cream sauce pasta with grilled shrimp. He got fried shrimp tonight. The shrimp were jumbo and fried perfect. The "depot" fries are frozen crinkle cut. He subbed the Mac and cheese for the okra. It's more of a less sauce old fashioned Mac and cheese. I got my old habanero cream sauce pasta. It was served in the tiniest of bowls but the amount of food was good. Why not serve it in a normal sized dish? I would rather have the 4 jumbo shrimp they used to serve back in the day rather than the smallish medium shrimp. The sauce was thicker than I prefer but flavor was decent. I'll try something different next time. The cocktails were delicious. Again, the service and speed of things was incredible for a party of 17. My biggest negative was the music is ridiculously loud. Serving food to 17 people with that music was diabolical and we could not even visit. The group was great but the volume needs to be turned down. Def recommend for a large group but be prepared for music that is concert volume.

We checked out Yelp…read moreand headed for Rooster's at 2906 N State St. We ordered country fried steak with coleslaw and green beans, and a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. We also got an unsweetened tea, Diet Coke and homemade banana pudding. Everything was absolutely delicious. The country fried steak was crispy on the outside and hot on the inside and had plenty of gravy on top. Also, the gravy was exactly the right consistency. The coleslaw was excellent and the green beans were hot as well, and both were seasoned well. The unsweetened tea was very tasty and fresh. The burger was cooked to medium as requested. The bacon and cheese were great toppings as was the crisp lettuce and what tasted like local tomatoes. One of the best things about the burger was the homemade white bun--(also served with the country steak). It tasted like buns my mom used to make. The onion rings were hot and crispy, with a wonderful crunchy fried batter. Delicious! We haven't tried the pudding yet, but we'll update our review tonight when we try it out! Thank you to the hardworking and friendly service staff, cooks and owner. We will definitely be back in the future!

Rooster's is absolutely awesome. I had the burger and onion rings and both were damn good. The burger was simple, cooked right, and exactly what a burger should be. The onion rings were thin, crispy, and really good. My daughter got the chicken tenders and they were massive. I mean actually massive. More importantly, they were delicious. The fries were hand cut and just as good. Service was friendly, the place had a cool neighborhood feel, and it filled up fast. Parking is definitely at a premium, so get there early if you can or be prepared to wait a little. This is one of those places we probably would not have found if everything had gone according to plan, and now I'm really glad it didn't. So thank you to whoever forgot to pay the water bill at Pig & Pint. Just kidding. Thank you to whatever public works person accidentally broke the main water supply and sent us down the road. Because Rooster's is legit, and we'll absolutely be back.

We were greeted shortly by our waiter Caden. Our waiter was extremely polite and very attentive. I can only speak in the items I personally tried the watermelon jalapeño margarita was a 7.5/10. There wasn't a strong watermelon flavor and there really wasn't a kick from the jalapeño. The bartender wasn't definitely not shy with the liquor but it wasn't over powering. The shrimp and crab ceviche was probably a 8/10 ( could've been a 9/10 but it had cucumbers in it). It had a tad bit too much lime juice or lime taste. The shrimp and crab dip was delicious! 9/10. Fresh chips as well. I really enjoyed the pickled red onion addition was really good. Overall Saltine has a great menu selection, warm and welcoming vibe.

That was delicious. Also got the lobster and crawfish dip ok and one can never go wrong with calamari which was also good. For dinner, I had the salmon and grits and kale. It was ok because not quite what I was expecting - I was expecting spicy and it was too sweet for me but might be my fault for not fully reading the description and being focused on the Cajun seared aspect of it. It was still good though. Nothing superb but filling and loved the crunchy kale on top. Really liked that they were open on a Monday and they were fast. At one point, too fast because one of my co- diner's dinner came too soon while still eating their salad. For dessert, we got the cinnamon roll cheesecake and shared it. I only had one bite because it was too rich for me but it was very tasty and good. Unfortunately, we didn't get the oysters which is THE item to get here but it was otherwise a good visit.

Tired of the usual fried chicken and fish options that dominate Mississippi, I asked for a recommendation. She suggested the BLT with grilled chicken and fries, which I happily ordered. Though there was a small crowd, everyone was kind, and I never felt rushed. Valerie checked in on me during my meal, ensuring everything was to my liking.
