I shop at Martin's for their weekly ad specials. I am always surprised at their very high pricing. Do some people buy items without looking at the price?? I was recently impressed with their pre-made sandwiches in an oval refrigerated case at the SR23 location. The pricing was very good. The sandwiches looked great. I bought one. The cost of their doughnuts is odd. Nobody charges $1.29 a doughnut at grocery stores, not even in Scottsdale, AZ. I will buy 1 or 2 doughnuts. Never would buy a dozen. That's $15.50 for a dozen doughnuts. Maybe they give a 50 cent discount for a dozen. An example of their pricing. $4 for 4 ozs of alfalfa sprouts. That's $16 a pound for a veggie. Their smoked whitefish is $19 a pound. (I buy it on clearance.) There is a meat market where it is $10. I keep coming back for the sale prices. Their cashiers are good. Martin's is typically really great, but after peak hours they do a poor job keeping the food in the deli fresh.

I always appreciate the selection and quality I find at Martins in Heritage Square, but I would especially like to compliment the helpful, polite and engaging staff. There is always someone to help find what I need. Several times I've noticed that the checkers go out of their way to have a pleasant chat. Today, a young man and I discussed our favorite Star Wars films! A few times before, a young woman gave me a recipe that her Gran taught her! Wow, I wish we had Martin's in Louisville!! They have an amazing selection of produce, freshly prepared entrees and sandwiches, meat and seafood. Deli cases were clean and neat. Lots of choices. We were traveling and only had a small cooler which limited my purchases! They have lots of seating inside the store to enjoy a meal and a Starbucks too. Bourbon prices were pretty good and they even had the Maker's Mark Cbs bottle. A gem of a store! read more

We've been getting here our groceries for years. Customer service is outstanding every time we've been there. They always greet you with a smile. Produce fresh and always available, a wonderful selection of wines, beer and liquors. Dairy-the same. I'll only drink Martin's milk.. Even during the worst of the pandemic they were able to keep the essentials available. The deli is my favorite place. So many things to choose from. Their fried chicken is awesome.There's a salad bar,an olive bar...I could go on but Id be here all day. They get 5 stars because they really try to make the customer feel first, they have everything I need and they make shopping less of a chore. read more

This is my in-law's go to grocery store. The store itself is decent. The prices are competitive and the store itself is pretty clean. I'm not sure if I like that the store's produce area is set up in one long winding aisle. Basically it makes you walk through the whole produce area, plus if there are a lot of people, it could be quite a bottleneck. The other thing that is impressive is that they ask you if you'd like someone to help you take your groceries out to your car. We don't have that in Texas. Good on you, Martin's! read more

I am constantly wondering why we don't have groceries like this in IL? Probably because people in IL can't keep anything this clean. I love Martin's for the in-house food court, the ready-to-eat section, the Starbucks that gets your order right and the sheer vastness of selection available. I also find it a bit scary when you drive by one that has a pharmacy, a deli and a pet store all in the same strip, but this one does not. read more

first their app ad was day behind so I shopped on dead sales. found this out when I checked out and none of sale prices rang up showed cashier the ad as it shows up and she said expired yesterday too bad. tried to talk to customer service desk but one person was engaged in personal conversation with fellow employee and other was busy messing with various drawers. not Evan an acknowledgement that I was waiting. 5 minutes I decided I had been ignored enough. since new ownership the customer service has gone done hill and the prices make it now one of most expensive groceries to shop read more

While on a recent vacation we traveled to MI to visit family and look at areas to retire to . We visited the local store near St. Joseph MI. I fell in love with the store !!! The fruit and veggie selection was amazing ! I am sure music played as I walked through in amazement of how clean organized and stocked the department was( I would know I am a fruit veggie guru) . Prices were great! My only regret, not buying more of the delicious MI wines !! Loved this store , I have only given a 5 as a review score once before ! Wish we had them in KY!!!!! This supermarket rocks. It's striking to me that I've written quite a number of reviews of restaurants and markets but haven't thought to do so for this place, which I've gone to, no kidding, almost every day of the week for several years. My frequency of going there lets me make some observations with certainty: this place is always clean; the staff is always efficient and helpful; the lines are almost never long at check-out (are you listening, Meijer?); the produce is excellent and, when they can do so, locally sourced; and much more. It must be a good place to work, because the turnover of the staff is remarkably low. And I've come to know several people quite well--for example, Sue, who works the fish department, is a gem. More good stuff: their pork is all natural rather than brined/injected; the in-house Bit of Swiss bakery, based in Stevensville, MI, makes the best breads available locally, although I will allow that the breads at Bamber's and also that Italian stall in the Farmer's Market (Oh Mamma's) are competitive, but a narrower selection; and some third thing will occur to me soon to round this out. The only disadvantages for me: the prices on "ethnic" produce are not ideal, and you can save a chunk of money by, for example, getting your bok choy, bean sprouts and ginger at any Asian grocer, or your tomatillos at any Latin market. (That said, I won't buy garlic at Asian markets because they use those bagged Chinese garlic heads, which I don't fully trust for freshness or health controls--Maritn's sells CA garlic, generally.) Likewise, certain meat cuts favored in ethnic cuisines are pricier here (the default price at Martin's for beef shanks is $3-4 per pound, while you'll pay more like $2 per pound at a Latin market like El Paraiso). I have shopped year ever since they opened, and have never encountered attitude. For the people complaining about few checkouts open-it's very easy to use one of the 4 self checkouts! As for the lack of elite noodles-this is a first world issue-for heavens sake! Millions have NO food at all-you will not die w/o Harrington noodles! Everything is overpriced here and it is not even a high end grocery store. It is truly a Wholefoods wanna be. Skip this place. There are lots of unhealthy options at the food bar. Martins was once a very good store, but now they are overpriced while trying to claim they are in line with other stores. They were just bought out by Spartan Nash, and I hope that Spartan breaks up the nepotism that runs rampant in this company. Nearly everyone in positions of management is related to someone either in their corporate office or in some other long time management position with Martins. So you are not getting the best employee for the job, but you are getting the best son daughter or nephew for the job. Don't believe me? It was an awesome and easy experience to order flowers for mother and have them delivered the same day! Sara was very helpful and made it a very pleasant experience. I will definitely use this service again. I have had the opportunity to be in the Granger Martin's store and was absolutely blown away with their deli department. Last Sat night, I was in Martin's when the tornado sirens went off. They very quickly announced that a tornado had been spotted at the nearby airport and said that we should all go to the "safe" room in the store. The nearest safe room was the cold storage locker for the produce. We were offered coats when we went in and several staffers stayed with us keeping track of the storm with their smartphones. Ok so being 33 years old I stopped in to buy a couple bottles of wine for my Step-fathers birthday. My fiance's ID was stolen the night before, and was in the store with me. I presented my ID to the cashier amd she didn't have her ID so they refused to sell to me. I gaurentee you they sell alcohol to mom's and dad's you have little kids with them while buying other groceries as well. I will never set foot back in this establishment again. This store is always unfriendly. I returned some bad watermelon today that was purchased in the deli for lunch. It was old and mushy and when I returned it the lady at customer service didn't even offer an apology and apparently they also no longer have a 200% guarantee on their produce. Came to the side door deli for a quick bite. Bleccchhh!!! The roastisserie chicken breast was so dry and rubbery it was inedible. I purchased a small container of Mac n cheese for my little one who took one bite and said " it was a little bad" and wouldn't eat anymore. My friend had the Italian wrap and said it was good. So I guess the sandwiches are better than the hot deli food. I would not recommend the deli chicken. read more

I don't normally shop this store but I did on 7/23. I had surgery on my ankle so I was on crutches and in a cast. Your staff went out of their way to help me get a cart, kept my crutches while I shopped, helped me when I checked out and then again to get outside, get groceries loaded, and have the cart returned. I was so impressed with their customer service and help I asked their names. Please let Aaron (sp?) in the customer service area and Tiffany and Mary S. Very good salad bar I eat at frequently, and the deserts and breads from A Taste of Swiss are very good as well. My only complaint is if you want to eat in the deli good luck finding a table that isn't sticky or covered with crumbs ... take the food home and eat it there read more

This is a nice location, built near nice shops and restaurants. The only time I ever come here is to get a quick lunch with the fresh sushi that they have daily or to do some of my studying. Also, they have a pretty wide selection for wine. read more

So far my experience at this location has been decent. Clean enough prices are much higher but they have higher end more specialty foods that are harder to find other places. Employees could be more welcoming and helpful but I have come to realize that customer service in this area (even Granger) is not a top priority. I recently heard Martins has been bought out by Grand Rapids Michigan company which I am hopeful that customer service will improve. Businesses in GR tend to be better at customer service not because they care about you as a person but because they know what it takes to keep people coming back so they can make that buck. read more

We're from the Northeast where we judge fast and we can be harsh. Martins, even by our standards, is well done, prices reasonable, EZ access and parking, food seems fresh, and people are way too nice. They are helpful because that's how they are, not because someone told them to be. (Wow, that would be hard to get used to.) Decent overall, and they have several food bars, clean bathrooms, a Starbucks, lots of bakery products and a fairly extensive area of salads and hot foods. Much bigger than a Stew Leonard's, but just as nice and more expansive. We happily stop in several times when we visit relatives. read more
