BEST BANANA PUDDING!!! Ok everyone, gather round because my mind is blown, and you need to hear this. And if you live near a Marty's, you'll thank me later. So, last night, my friend was looking for a REAL chicken sandwich. Like, she didn't want a recycled chicken sandwich, she wanted somethin real! So she came across Marty's on Postmates. She showed me the picture they had of their chicken sandwich and wondered if it actually looked that way in person AND if it actually tasted good. So, she ordered the chicken sandwich, plus some salt & vinegar fries, PLUS.....some banana pudding. The food arrived and she is fully thrilled with the chicken sandwich. I didn't taste it, but it looked amazing! I did get to taste those salt & vinegar fries, and they SLAPPED.....me across the face! You could tell they're actual handcut fries, and that vinegar flavor was everything! Now...we waited a while, but eventually end up bustin' open that banana pudding. We both had a spoon. She got up in it first, and because I know her and her expressions, I knew this was a serious (good) matter. I couldn't wait, so I got up in it and my life is now forever changed. That banana pudding tastes like pure LOVE! It tasted like somebody's grandma was in that kitchen, making this banana pudding. It's so well balanced, not too sweet, but just right. There are wafers in it that become kinda cakey after sitting and it is simply perfection. I've had a lot of banana pudding....this is THEE banana pudding that you NEED! I thought about that banana pudding all night, and probably dreamed about it. So today, I walked over to Marty's, raved over it to their staff, who informed me that it is in fact a family recipe, and I ordered another. The staff were so sweet, and I plan to go back to sit in and try their chicken sandwich. The banana pudding has me in a chokehold. I cannot get enough. You need to get some!

Went to visit a friend that loves this place, we dropped in to grab some food. I ordered the mushroom burger. I love seeded buns, so that was a plus, big onion fan, I ordered extra sautéed onions. I felt the burger lacked moisture and could have had a bit more flavor, comes with Swiss cheese which I enjoy, my least favorite part was the Dijon mustard, should have requested no mustard. Tried the fries, which I thought were very good. Authentic and fresh cut fries is always a win. Also sampled my friends milkshake, which was extra rich, creamy and delicious. The staff was super pleasant, friendly with smiles on their face. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The classic diner vibe is always a yes in my book. Spacious booths and all seemed very clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Want to go back and try more items, including the Oreo cheesecake :)

Was staying at the Best Western and decided to take a chance on Marty's. I was not disappointed the cheeseburger was really good and I forgot to say no mayo and was please they didn't dump a massive amount on the sandwich. If I'm ever in the area of a Marty's I'm def grabbing a burger.

Honestly I love Marty's and I'm not the biggest burger fan. I usually don't eat burgers often. But lately I find myself ordering Marty's often for a yummy burger and an order of fries. I have tried their truffle fries too and they are my favorite but this time around I switched it up and decided to get their original fries. I like their homemade sauce and their spicy sauce it's a great addition to my burger or to dip my French fries in. I haven't dined in, I have ordered delivery around 3-4 times already from here. 10/10 recommendation

First time ordering from here on UberEats. I got the BBQ burger, subbed jalapeños for spicy pickled peppers, salt and vinegar fries, a chocolate milk shake and side of cheese sauce. The burger might have been the best burger I've ever eaten. The fries came a little soggy but they were still very tasty And I was able to crisp them up in the air fryer. The salt and vinegar flavor wasn't overpowering and the cheese sauce was great for dipping the fries in. The milkshake was your standard chocolate milkshake. All in all, a good find for take out!

Hands down the best burger in Jersey City. I've been here over twenty times. Perfect smash Patties. Well seasoned. And even the chicken sandwich is juicy and delicious. Highly recommend. Street parking sucks around there but it's worth the trip.

++++ Vegetarian Review of a Burger Place++++ I can't say anything thing about their meat since I'll never have it. I can say I know people that like it and I know people that do not like it. I love that they have an impossible burger on the menu and that you can get substitute it on any burger. I've had the Impossible Burger off their menu and thought it was okay. The Swiss Shroom Dijon burger with an impossible patty on the other hand is fantastic (sauteed onions and mushrooms, dijon mustard). I have had their regular fries and liked them... but their salt and vinegar fries are a revelation. The flavor was perfect, not too strong but you definately get the salt and vinegar flavor. Plus their french frie packaging is ingenius because it has holes built-in so your fries don't get soggy; it should be illegal to sell fries any other way.

This is my 3rd time coming here. First two visits the food was amazing. Today...idk... maybe different cooks. No se. But... this is insane. I ask for the usual jalapeño burger and i definitely got an jalapeño burger!! The burger had more jalapeños than the bun. Lord...let's talk about the fries they were overcooked to a crispy burnt fry. Not even the gravy helping it. ‍ all the jalapeños you can see it on the tray, that I had to take out. Might as well given me the jalapeño on the side.

Amazing burger. I ordered it in door dash. I got a double cheeseburger with mushrooms. Really big, lots of juicy meat. Perfectly cooked with a crispy sear. This is what I want when I want a burger. The shake was good too, a strong and sweet chocolate flavor and it wasn't too thick.

Food is fresh made to order and comes out piping hot! We ordered on the tablet and all of our food came out in about 5-10 minutes (12pm on Thursday). Did I mention the bathroom is spectacularly clean? The restaurant is pretty chill and relaxing and we enjoyed eating in. Staff was great to us, I'd definitely come again if I was in town again!

There was only one other family dining, and the space stayed empty the entire time. The service was genuinely great. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and a really cute, cozy space. I especially loved the Christmas décor and overall vibe--it felt warm and inviting. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the prices. The house salad was $13 and honestly one of the most basic, smallest, and most boring salads I've ever had--very underwhelming for the cost. We also ordered quesadillas, a cheeseburger with fries, and grilled cheese with tomato soup. My son enjoyed the burger and fries, and the quesadillas were flavorful, generously filled with chicken and veggies, and came with sour cream, pico, and guac. The tomato soup was tasty, while the grilled cheese was just okay. One small but appreciated detail: canned soda. Cold, crisp, and not flat which is always a win. Lunch for 3 came in just under $100, which felt high given what we received. One frustration was being seated in a tight corner right next to the kitchen even though the dining room was completely empty. We were so close I could literally see into the kitchen and count items on the shelves. On top of that, the hostess repeatedly walked by calling out "corner," which became distracting and honestly a bit irritating. Overall, I liked the vibe, but the food-to-price ratio missed the mark for me. It wasn't bad--just alright.

Since my last visit, I had only ventured there once for a drink, but it had been far from a first choice. I loved that they had live music and a casual vibe, but my past culinary experience had been a letdown. However, I was very pleasantly surprised on my recent excursion. We grabbed seats at the rustic bar and enjoyed friendly service and pints of Kane Head High, my favorite beer. The crisp, refreshing brew went well with my cup of Chicken Noodle Soup. While that might sound like an odd "snack", I selected it because it was one of the few appetizers on the menu that was not fried. The broth seemed to interestingly be made of tomatoes and potentially other vegetables. It was packed with large, spiral noodles, shredded chicken, and fresh spinach. It was an interesting rendition for sure, but it was also very tasty, despite the fact that it was rather greasy. I was also bummed that it did not have more chicken and that it had not been served with any crackers. Oh well! Overall, it at least had left me with a much better impression than my last trip had.

We were there as happy hour ended, so perhaps it was a happy hour thing, but was left with the impression they were a tiny pour establishment. Had heard that their crispy cauliflower nuggets were a specialty, so gave them a try. Very pleasant. Light breading, good crunch, great flavor. Recommend, and would be surprised if we ever came and didn't order. Split a house salad. Good and plenty to share. Just a bit inconvenient to try to split at the table on to small plates. No fresh utensils between courses. Wait person just moved the forks and knifes off the plates back onto the table as they removed the empty plates. Something I've always found off putting and cheap at what otherwise seems a nice restaurant. Wife got the steak frites, which was clearly the best dinner choice. Nice sized piece of well charred hangar steak with a good pile of wonderfully crispy fries. I got the sausage fusilli calabrese. Some chunks of really tasty house made sausage. The pasta appeared to be house made as well; long strands though without the usual fusilli curliness. Honestly, they tasted fine, but looked very much like a bowl of pasta earthworms. If the pasta shape is adjusted, I might recommend or order again. A nice comfortable place with a few opportunities for improvement.

The space was not large, but they really made the most of it, offering a decent number of tables with reasonable space between them. My friend and I were quickly seated and immediately greeted by a charming server that opened our bottle of wine (it's BYO) and offered us still or sparkling water. I had read in other reviews that you had to pay for water, so I was not surprised by the $6 bottle of Saratoga that wound up on our bill. In addition to our engaging server and the happening atmosphere, the food was similarly incredible. We decided to order a load of things to share, so that we could try a greater variety. We started with two appetizers that were seasonal Spring additions to the menu. The Hamachi Crudo included five thickly-sliced, tender pieces of Japanese yellowtail sitting in a broth of rhubarb aguachile and topped with white strawberries and basil seeds. It was an unique blend that we would not have expected to work, but boy was it delicious! The sweet toppings infused a load of flavor into an otherwise mild fish. We also enjoyed the Fava-mole, a creamy puree of fava beans studded with balls of hand-pulled mozzarella and pea tendrils, all drizzled with zesty ramp oil. I had not been sure what to expect from the dish, but it offered fresh, bright garden flavors. We also decided to share a pasta course and an entree. The Fettuccini was tossed with spring truffles and maitakes in a light, yet heavily aromatic, wild mushroom cream sauce. It was one of the best dishes I had had in quite some time. Then, as we were waiting on our seafood entree, we received a second pasta, courtesy of the Chef. I had mentioned that I had heard rave reviews about Flour from a server at Heirloom Kitchen, a top NJ restaurant. Apparently, our waiter had let the Chef know about that glowing praise, and the kitchen further verified that positivity with the generous gesture. In fact, they wound up sending out the Linguine with white clam sauce, razor clams, and wild ramps, the other dish about which I had been most curious anyway. Well, it was another winner! It was garlicky, herbaceous, and rich with flavors of the sea. Speaking of seafood, we next received the Branzino 'Bahn mi', a perfectly cooked piece of Mediterranean sea bass with Vietnamese sausage and pickled vegetables. The branzino's crispy skin and flaky, moist interior were excellent, and we loved all of the other smoky and briny flavors on the plate. After all of that excellent food, we would have loved to try one of their appealing desserts, but we were just too full. Between the ambiance, welcoming vibe, and delicious cuisine, our Flour experience was simply divine! It has now became one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I cannot wait to try their pizza at some point as well.

We ended the night with the s'mores dessert, which was rich and chocolatey. Also, the fact that the restaurant is BYOB is a huge plus! The only downside was that I lost an item during our visit. I had a really hard time finding their contact information online, so I had to go back in person to ask about it, which was a bit annoying.
