I was pleasantly surprised by Marty's. I hadn't been to their Fort Lee location, but i was waiting for it to open up in the Heights for a few months now. The cheeseburger was so tasty. Sesame seed buns are a personal favorite of mine. The spicy chicken sandwich was extra crispy and had a medium kick to it. I'd recommend it even for those who don't like too much spice. The disco fries / poutine style reminded me of Montreal. The cheese curds were presented on the side already slightly melting in the gravy. This way the fries were able to stay crispy and not get too soggy. The Mac and Cheese is a great option as a kid's meal: the portion size felt like a lot as a side, but it's just the right size if you are looking for a filling snack. AMAZING FOOD AND SHAKES I am a huge hot dog fanatic. I thought no place could ever top Boulevard Drinks located in the square when it came to hot dogs.... But Marty's has definitely took the thrown in my opinion! Today I was able to try a hot dog with a side of cheese, truffle fries, old bay fries, a chicken sandwich, and a strawberry shake. I've ordered their burgers for delivery a few times and have always enjoyed them. Love the choices and they're fast and warm when they arrive. Recently stopped in for the first time. Checked out this place in Aug'22. I remember getting a single cheeseburger and my friend got an impossible burger. I remember their fries were really good though! The best thing about the place according to me is the vibe. The staff did seem friendly to me and were patient enough as I was deciding my order. I would state that The Heights has a decent burger place, but these people can definitely improve more on their product and make it competitive for other burger places in the area. Yeah... no. They offer a vegan burger and vegan cheese but NO vegan bun. Also, most buns are vegan. You really do have to go out of your way.... They offered to put it in a lettuce wrap but no? I want bread? I was hoping it was at least worth the $16 I paid but after two bites, and my boyfriend sampling it, this burger ended up in the trash. Probably fine for meat eaters but vegans beware. I ended up Ubereatsing from Bareburger. EDIT: Since the business owner responded, they literally advertise food as vegan (see photo for "vegan cheese"), but go off I guess. Nowhere on the Martys website does it say their buns have egg, which I am allergic to. Not a preference as the owner rudely called it, but even if it were a preference, I should get food that I like if I'm eating it, right? If I hadn't made the note, they would have served it to me. And yeah, a lettuce wrap is quite pathetic. For $16!!! Also interesting they have fresh food but proudly buy a packaged brand and provided the info for it below? Nah. At first I thought Marty's was okay for non vegans too, but now I think the ownership is just a mess. Mind you, the Impossible burger was also bad. No seasoning, and the mushrooms were cold. I sampled it immediately too. The owner did DM me and ask what was unclear. So here it is. Label your allergens. Say you bread has egg in it on the menu. Not doing this is quite frankly irresponsible of a business. MOST burger bread does not have egg. I would have saved myself $16 and had a better evening. I have no interest in exchanging words with this business owner. I hope you use this review to grow and label your menu properly if your ~preference~ is to still not supply allergen friendly food. All I am saying is label your allergens, I did not like the food, and I cannot recommend it to anyone. That is all. Visited recently to see what the hype was about and found out... the burgers were AMAZING. I got a single patty and it's hard to describe. I think the best way would be it's BIG flavor and bold, but without the jaw breaking bite of those ginormous burgers that you can't tackle bc it's like 5 inches tall. There's a lot of flavor here and the staff was nice. The booths are cute, love the simple but modern decor. The one downside would be the fries. Ordered Old Bay fries. The fries were delicious but they did a heavy heavy coat of Old Bay so it was too salty for me. I'd prefer to do a lighter coat or do it myself. They were still super tasty. The burgers are very good. They are not overly greasy like the burgers that come from similar places, like 5 guys. Ordering is done through an app, quick and efficient. Was generally going in every 2 weeks or so. Unfortunately not anymore, too many mistakes on my orders has ended that. Toppings I want might not be there, toppings I do want might not. Specialty fries came out wrong each time. Salt and vinegar fries were absolutely saturated to the point I couldn't eat them and was sweating from the over seasoning.
