Noah walking my 5 y/o cattle dog, Stella, with 10+ other dogs calmly within minutes absolutely blew…read moremy mind. Stella has had intense reactions to other new dogs (on or off leash) since she was 2. I sought professional help a few times over the last 3 years but the advice was always, "avoid other dogs." Over time, we both were anxious and uncertain when anticipating a dog interaction. I felt hopeless and unable to help my dog (and myself) having a hard time in those situations. UNTIL...I found Noah! His confidence, patience, knowledge, care, and leadership made me feel at ease entrusting him with my fur girl. The Mutt Mentor is doing some amazing work, it's unlike any walks I'd seen or could have imagined. Beyond getting exercise, these walks are beneficial for any type of dog; they get to interact with other dogs in a safe structured environment and learn to be calm and listen with real life elements (cars, bikes, squirrels, etc.). I highly recommend and encourage any dog owner to reap the benefits the Mutt Mentor has to offer!

Within 45 minutes Angela was able to take this dog on her first walk outside. Both the vet and I were in tears of joy. Angela's attention to detail in how a dog is responding to any stimulation is incredible. Her dedication and love for dogs is undeniable. Her ability to break down behaviors and teach us about her techniques is easy to follow and very logical. She has a natural talent with dogs!!

We had maintained a nice foundation but felt it was appropriate based on a myriad of factors. We were placed with Emily and our experience was excellent. We knew Emily from many of our group trainings but had yet to do extensive one on one with her. Emily's approach is honest, consistent, soft (but firm) and very relatable. She was communicative in every way and made us feel safe. Given we had already done one camp we felt comfortable with the facility but each trainer brings their own nuance. Emily was clear and concise with each weekly update- she was really positive and had a ton of healthy feedback. Training is a huge investment of time and money.... Something we don't take lightly, but we have felt it was incredibly worth it both times. The continued support offered is 10/10, the communication is consistent and the general vibe is that everyone really wants to be there, including all the pups. Our dog has been home one full week, and we feel really good about the tools we've been given for continued success.

We had built somewhat of a foundation for her at home but there were still things she needed to learn and work on. The team was very patient and helpful with all of our questions and we sent her around 6 months old for the 4 week puppy program. Wow, it has made such a difference! She has learned so much and they give you all the tools and advice to be successful at home to reinforce training. Additionally, after the program they provide weekly group sessions to continue the training and keep consistent. You can tell everyone involved in the program is passionate about what they do and really care about the dogs that come to their program. If you are considering training for your pup look no further! Thank you so much to the whole team for all the work they have put in with Capri!

So far, we have had a consultation and a training session and we look forward to more sessions and taking the group classes when they start up soon. Brian is kind hearted, cares deeply about dogs, and has been great to work with. During the consultation, he helped set up life sized stuffed dogs to see how our dog would interact with other dogs in a safe way and helped us to pick up on cues from our dog to better understand and support our dog as she adjusts to a new home and environment. Brian provided emails with materials and homework assignments. We sought a trainer that could help with focus, pulling less on the leash, and jumping up as well as help with socialization. He has been amazing and we are grateful for all of his support. We look forward to the group classes and highly recommend Brian for anyone looking for support with training their dog. He even helps train service dogs, which I think is so awesome!

She has been instrumental in guiding us through a family crisis of an anxious dog struggling with us having a child. If we did not have Good Dawg Training at this time, I don't know what we would do. Good Dawg Training comes expertly recommended by the top behavioral doctor at the UC DAVIS behavioral science department. Good Dawg Training is 1 of only 3 trainers trusted by UC DAVIS in the entire North Bay Area. If you have a new puppy or an older dog like us, do not hesitate to book here. We made the mistake of putting our puppy in a local training program where she stayed there for 1 week- we found out later they use negative punishment and it only made our dogs anxiety worse. I highly recommend avoiding this route of a group training program like this and working with Colette individually.
