Marty's is that budget-friendly dive bar that just gets it. No frills, no hype. Just a solid, fun spot to hang out. They've got pool tables (with an overhead camera, which is actually kinda sick), darts, and even Connect 4 if you're feeling competitive. It's the kind of place where you can post up with friends, talk trash over a game, and not stress about overpriced drinks. The crowd is what really makes it. Super eclectic mix of young, older, biker vibes, or trendy types...all blending together in this low-key, no-judgment environment. Just good people having a good time. We stopped in Marty's when we were looking for somewhere to grab a drink. What a nice place to visit. People in here are great. Very friendly. We enjoyed the drinks and the bar tender was great. Mixed some great drinks!! We did not try any food but I am sure it is good too. The place is nice and clean easy to get into and park. Pool table for fun. Darts too. We like that. The second I walked in, I was treated like part of the crew. Sunshine is an absolute rockstar behind the bar -- if not for her, I probably would've kept searching for another scene. I knew it was gonna be a dive bar from the reviews. Went on a Tuesday around 4:45 cause I had an appt nearby at 5:30. The girl bartender was super nice and friendly. Looked like a bunch of regulars were there too. Drinks were only 4.00???? That's crazy but a nice surprise. Maybe it was happy hour, who knows. I love this bar! I am a bartender at other bars but this is my go to bar of choice when I'm not working. I love all of the employees here, and the customers are super cool as well. The prices are the most reasonable in town and the girls pour great drinks. read more

Love Marty's! Been coming here for a few years and this is one of my favorite spots! They have a happy hour which is really cheap. The drink prices here even without happy hour are a steal! I can't believe they keep them as low as they can especially with the crazy inflation prices! They have 3 dartboards, a pool table and lots of other games to play. There is always a lot of people here to play with, a busy but very chill crowd here, juke box and other things. Honestly fun little dive bar. I will say, not very safe for women in small groups because of the older (and handsy) crowd. Definitely a place to go with a larger group or with a boyfriend if you don't want to be approached by old guys. Drinks are strong and cheap, but if you're thirsty, it'll do. Bartenders are quick, but in my experience, always drunk on the job. No other gripes besides the sloppy old men on the prowl. read more

I been coming here for a little more than a year on and off & every time my husband and I go we are happy to see Leslie .. she's such a beautiful soul .. We always have conversations & feel welcomed .. The drinks are awesome with awesome prices as well .. still getting to know the rest of the staff but Leslie is our favorite ! From my experience Friday's and Saturday's are pretty busy & loud but still a good place to go & have a few drinks ! sometimes we see a bar close to us where we are & we say nahh let's just go visit Leslie .. History

Established in 1966.

Established by the Foley family, Martys is a neighborhood bar where the owners and their family were actively involved in the bar and surrounding community for over 40 years. The parents have passed away and their daughter Jill tragically died of cancer at the end of 2010, prompting a sale of the bar in February, 2011. The new owners have embraced the history and traditions of Martys while trying to add amenities that the clientele will enjoy. We were happy to have Jill's sister come in and let us know Marty would have approved of all the upgrades.

Meet the Business Owner: Stuart R.

I am a CPA/Realtor by trade but a businessman at heart. I have majority control with 3 minority partners. We previously owned Pineapple Hill Bar & Grill and Martys Bar & Grill, both in Tustin. Martys has been fun because it has grown so dramatically since we acquired it. One thing we started was free games, versus the usual mentality of "games cost money". By making it free more people play which means more opportunities to meet new people. And it sets you apart, which I think all businesses should strive for.

Hank's isn't always open when you need them but when they are the drinks are stiff, the company is fascinating and oddly comforting. Given it's Hollywood, I was expecting things to be pricy but we were amazed that cocktails (albeit well cocktails) were only $9 with some more complex drinks a bit higher - my friend said 8 drinks plus tax came out to be $92 which is not bad at all compared to many cocktail spots, though prices match the quality as you're not here for craft cocktails, but rather decent drinks to get you buzzed for the night. There's no menu. I settled with a dirty Shirley temple and my friend got me a Cinnamon Toast Crunch shot. I also tried the green apple martini too. Drinks were good but not excellent, but I can't complain about it much given the price!

This is odd. Somehow I was trying to enhance Marty's yelp site, and I just got dumped on top of all the reviews. AND I'M THE OWNER!! It would be unethical of me to take advantage of this situation..... But if Trump can be President, then what the hell!! Seriously though, Martys is just a good value. We purposely keep drinks cheaper than anyone else, have a décor that places us as the Taj Mahal of Dive Bars, cheap or free games and quality staff and clientele. My pool table guy recently informed me we are the only bar in Orange that does not charge at least a dollar for pool. And we only charge 50 cents! I have found people need something to do while sitting at the bar, and I prefer they at least have a pool game to watch. Then when people start lining up on the chalk board to play next, their names appear and everyone soon knows the names of everyone involved. Always good karma. We do the same with shuffle board and Jenga, which are free. read more

When did dive bars become trendy? It's so not. I came here with the suggestion from my girlfriend that likes dive bar that drinks were cheap and I would have a good time. I just couldn't stand all of the perv old dudes looking at my tits. Sure they bought me drinks, but guys do that anyway. Atleast you can flirt with a good looking one that'll actually buy you something and you can feel good about yourself. It smells like smoke in there. This past Friday night, the bar was not busy, yet Jacqueline, the bartender, repeatedly ignored us. After our first drinks, we tried to order a second round and flagged her down several times, but she showed no interest in helping us. Her behavior came across as dismissive, rude, and completely uncalled for. I had not been back to The Swinging Door in a long time because of a similar experience, but I previously chalked it up to the bar being busy that night. Unfortunately, this visit confirmed that poor customer service continues to be an issue. No one goes to a bar on a Friday night expecting to be ignored or treated poorly by the bartender. Lesson learned. I sincerely hope management retrains its bartending staff and reminds them that being attentive and kind to customers is a basic part of the job.
