Felt like the games were extremely reasonably priced. We were able to spend a good chunk of time playing the games v. other arcades we've been to where you can pay $100 and it will be gone in 20 minutes due to the $5 per game play. There were a lot of games here that were $1 and under even which allowed the kids to play for a good chunk of time as well as having a lot of variety in games. We also loved the spending of 5 tries and getting an extra credit for a lot of the prize games. Note: being a boardwalk arcade means it's not going to be the most clean.. but I feel that's expected across all the arcades so I didn't take a star away for that. read more

As expected it's pretty loud, which you expect. Excellent COVID-19 precautions with clean equipment and hand sanitizer available. My parents brought me here, my husband's parents brought him here, and now we're bringing our kid here. We remember when $10 used to last hours playing pinball and Ms. Pac-Man. Now it takes about $30 for half that time, but the kid really enjoys all the lights and sounds and games (even the ones that are rigged against you). Her favorite of late has been skeeball, a spinning cornhole game, and a rapid-fire ball game where you have to drop 50 balls into rotating buckets in a minute's time. It's an intense 60 seconds, but she manages to get quite a few tickets each time. My in laws spend most of their time at the poker games and my husband and I spend our quarters on the non-ticket baring games of our youth. It's a trip down memory lane, for sure. And even though it's not what it once was, our family still leaves Marty's Playland with smiles every time. read more

This place is an absolute scam. They set every crane here to the lowest setting and strength. This place is worse than gambling. I'd rather you hit a casino in Vegas, more luck there. read more

I had very good experiences in the past, not so much this time. All of the machines were broken or did not dispense tickets. I feel scammed and scared. We had wades of tickets and it said we only had 38, I counted myself at least 52. read more

My fiancé and I are huge arcade junkies. If there's one around, we can generally be found there. Play land is the arcade we gravitate to most frequently on ocean city visits. They have the best selection of games, and have a better ticket pay out than the others in the area. We have been saving our tickets up here for years and really enjoy the card system they use to keep track of tickets. The prizes here are mostly underwhelming, even for kids. read more

Pretty typical arcade where $10 won't get you many games and you would need a million tickets for a decent prize lol. It's a bit cramped in here but they've got some good games. They're open year round. Some of the games and ticket counting machines were broken. But they did have air hockey which is my favorite. And of course I won haha. Anyways, they also have a bottle of hand sanitizer at the entrance / exit but it was empty. read more

The one counter clerk was rude and took a Willy wanka golden ticket to keep us from getting the extra points when asked about the gestapo manager was ignorant and rude.... Nothing is more real (aside of the artery clogging fried food, red as a rock lobster sunburn and endless in season traffic) when doing a beach vacation or just visiting the beach then being able to visit a year round arcade. Marty's has got you covered with retro games, what would have been top of the line casino grade poker machines in 1990, some sweet knuckle bleeding air hockey and just about every possible electronic machine that spits out tickets under the sun. The nostalgia factor here is huge which is apparent even though it's winter and the wind chill is in the teens yet the placed is crazy busy. Our game of choice like many is Skee-Ball. Marty's has a nice row of classic machines made by Philadelphia Toboggan Company which are the creme de la creme of Skee-Ball machines. One huge downside to things here is...a lot of crap doesn't work. One of the ticket counting machines didn't work all weekend. One of the change machines was broken all weekend and another would only accept dollar bills. Let's not even start about the beloved Skee-Ball machines. Machine A would eat every other quarter, machine B would count 40's as 20's and most of the machines would not deliver all nine balls without having to take one of them and throw it back up the chute to knock the remaining balls down, etc, etc, etc. After you're done they've got a hell of a array of Chinese plastic prizes ranging from single digit ticket items all the way to things in the six figure range which I asked the one person working what the largest ticket total she had ever seen redeemed and she said it was over 100,000 by some older locals who come daily to hang out at the poker machines. #Sad Overall we had a good time and I'm glad we went but go knowing that you'll get ripped off and the one guy who is working to fix things is perpetually getting pulled five different ways fixing things so you'll wait and clearly he's annoyed when you bug him an 11th time about the same problem. read more

They have really cool, antique SkeeBall! A large amount of prizes for fairly reasonable prices. This is a great place to kill a few hours (and some dollars) while visiting the beach. They also have fans going, making it pretty cool inside if you're trying to avoid the heat. read more

The review is more for the great staff, but the arcade is wonderful too. One of the biggest beach arcades we've seen. Staff is friendly and helpful. They were constantly cleaning, fixing things, or assisting people. Big shout out to the young man working the prize counter on Wednesday around noon (said his name was Abu?) who was super patient with us while all the kids were trying to decide what prizes to get. Also the prize selection is great for young kids. I've never seen so many options for Melissa & Doug toys, which are quality educational options and not your typical arcade or cheap prizes that break or get unused after a while. read more

Marty's is the best arcade on the boardwalk. They have games form every era and a nice section of kids games at .25¢ and some $1.00 . They have vintage Skeeball and several antique claw digger machines. Maybe I am bias because I always have a good time there, or maybe I am right because I always have a good time there. As a kid Playland was always the fun place to go to play arcade games while the rest of the fam was doing shopping on the boardwalk. It is a staple of the OC Boardwalk although most of the games and rewards are old and outdated. However that being said there are hundreds of arcade games to choose from and none of those things would ever disappoint or bore a small kid. It's nothing insanely fun or something I ever looked forward to as a kid but it was still fun going in here and playing an arcade game every now and then. read more

Was conflicted. We selected this arcade over the one across the street, sportsland, because this one had more old timely classic games (some video poker, some skee ball, some wooden claw machines, some roll the ball into the card slot etc) the problem was a lot of them didn't work. The ones that did work were all the newer ones, which they also had across the street along with better prizes. So while we definitely had a good time (what kind of grump doesn't at an arcade) our reason for choosing this one over the other was invalidated and thus we might have been better off across the way. But i didn't have enough money for two so we'll never know. read more

If you or your children love arcades - this is a great place to visit. They have games from today and many games from when I was a kid (too long ago to mention years haha!). My children love getting to pick from all the available prizes after playing all the fun games. My favorite is still skeeball! Marty's has 6 or 7 lanes so never a wait! We went here weekend of 9/26/15. I am a avid fan of Skee Ball and it's still 25 cents. On the other hand Pac-Man and pinball machines were a dollar. REALLY? We went right next door to Funland and found them for 50 cents. I believe they have the reputation so people go there without checking out the competition. I agree with the other reviewer that the games could be a lot cleaner. However, the floors were clean and I was able to get assistance. read more
