Marty's really came through in a pinch today. Between their covid-19 protocol, which was top notch! I needed inner tubes for my bike... I called ahead to see if they were even open, they directed me to make a 1:1 appointment on their website. I arrived, the front door was locked, I was greeted and let in. They were quick, efficient and kept proper social distance. I cannot thank them enough for fixing my bike up so I can enjoy the outdoors during this crazy time. THANKS MARTY'S!!! I had a question about an issues I had with my bike. So I brought it in for them to look at and I got the vibe that if I didn't buy the bike from them they were reluctant on helping or offering an alternative so I went to another shop and they were extremely helpful and explained a remedy I can do on my own that would prolong having to replace the part. Although Marty's is only a couple miles from my home i'll probably never shop there. read more

Marty's has been working on my bikes for many years. When I decided to get a smart trainer I looked around the internet and was surprised to find Marty's sold the Wahoo trainer for the same price as the mail order shops. I couldn't be happier with my experience at Marty's over the weekend. I visited the Hackettstown store with my wife and 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 year old daughters. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. I was able to buy a brand new bike for my older daughter and a used bike for my younger daughter. The salesperson didn't try to push me into the new bike for my younger daughter because the used one available was very high quality. The quality of the bicycles we bought for them blew away what we could have gotten at a big box store, and it really didn't cost much more. They also have a buyback program for bicycles which helps with young kids. Don't waste your time at a big box store. This is the place to go! read more

I bought a fantastic top 'o the line Powerfly E-bike, with a couple of very nice extras. It really flies pretty good just the way it is! After visiting the Randolph and Hackettstown locations yesterday, I felt compelled to write a review based on the difference of service I received at the htown shop. My little guy is turning three so I took him to Marty's (Hackettstown) to get sized and fitted for his first big boy bike. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door by a young salesperson named Mile. He engaged with my little buddy and made him feel important- something I found very thoughtful as a childhood professional. I had done some research so I had questions about products and whether we would need a 12 or 16 inch bike. There was enough room upstairs for Dylan to test ride and pedal around while I talked to Mike. He was also very knowledgable about adult bikes and thule racks. Hackettstown only had the specialized hardrock 12 inch; Randolph has the trek jet as well as the hardrock. We went to the Randolph location later in the day and were not as well attended to. The salesman did not even acknowledge the child nor did he give me any information on the difference in models when I had previously looked up those facts. Very displeased with the service. Felt like he didn't take us seriously because we were only buying a child's bike. It may be considerably less than the adult bikes but I could have easily gone to a big name store and spent less than half of what I did on the specialized. The big problem was the way he just blew the child off. It's his first big boy bike! It's a big deal you could at least engage him or smile. When we were rung up there wasn't even a thank you for your business. Unfortunately, we purchased in Randolph bc we weren't going to make it back to Hackettstown in time. I called Hackettstown today and thanked them for all their time and service. Definitely NOT going to the Randolph location again for any bike needs. Go to htown for better service and knowledgable salespersons. read more

Terrible service...the staff kept trying to upsell everything,i bought a bike and rode it twice and the gear shifter broke,i brought it into the store and they told me it wouldnt be covered so i left with the bike and brought it to another dealer id rather give them the $ then the thieves at martys...also from my understanding their new "fitness" classes suck as do the instructors. read more

Definitely one of the best bike shops I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. I recently traveled to the Hackettstown area for business. I was only going to be in the area for two days but wanted to experience some New Jersey's best road riding. Right away I noticed how helpful and informative the staff at Marty's is. The mechanics took my boxed bike and built it for me while I waited. They took care of me right away since I had such limited time. While my bike was being built the sales staff was great to talk to and they pointed me to some incredible road riding. They told me about their favorite rides and roads and I was very impressed. I will absolutely be stopping back at Marty's the next time I am in the area!! read more

Great service - got my bike ready for winter at a reasonable price. I ride all year and the staff has the knowledge and know how to stock and sell the right accessories for serious riders like myself. Have bought Trek bikes and have always had great success with them in the past. I Moved to a new area and I bought a 2018 Trek bike from this shop, and the gears did not function properly on the first day I took it out. Brought it back the same day. The bike shop owner blamed in on the cable stretching. The cable can be expected to stretch within 2-4 weeks of riding it, but all the gears should be working, staying engaged and not rubbing on the day you purchase it!!!! Trek headquarters says 99.9% of the time it is not the shifters or equipment malfunction , but assembly at the shop. The bike shop has had my new bike for 3 weeks, and not so much as a phone call to say they fixed the problem! They have no money back guarantee, only a 30 day swap policy.... I chose to swap for a 2017 upgraded model which was $100 less than the new 2018 model. They did not offer any comps for their incompetency or delay, did not support saving money to buy a 2017 model either. Equivalent to a car salesman with the rhetoric and BS shoveled out. Would not give me full value for the bike even though I only rode the bike once because of THEIR screw-up. I would never buy a bike or send my bike in for repair at this bike shop!! I know of other bike shops where I have trust of quality workmanship, and am willing to travel an hour or more out of my way for this sort of service! Wish I had know this before I purchased from Marty's. I have been cycling for 23 years and have invested a lot of money into my cycling equipment. read more
