He couldn't make it for the fitting but the store said they have his info. from the previous rental so I just provided with the receipt. They gave him the same size but different boots. The first hour it started bothering his ankles and sat out and didn't want to go back. It turned out, the binding strap was worn out and would not stay tight. Binding strap would loosen with any pressure from the boot. That's a major safety issue. So I ended up renting again at the resort. I told the store about it when I returned them but they didn't do anything about it. Lessons learned from my end. I thought the store would comp me for it since the boots weren't used but I got nothing.

When I called ahead, the employee I spoke with couldn't answer my questions without repeatedly asking a colleague. They charge about $45 to mount the bindings (discounted from $115), even though both the skis and bindings were purchased there. In my experience, most shops mount bindings for free when both items are bought from them. The skis also had to be sent out (understandable) but then I would be paying for a service and unable to ski for about a week or so. I went to Blue Mountain and found their services to be cheaper and faster. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable--unlike my experience at Buckman's. I'll be going there from now on.

Went on a Thurs afternoon around 3:30 - everyone there is helpful, greeting you as you enter, taking time to listen to what you're needs are and making suggestions based on your budget, etc. Bryce was great in selecting the skis, boots, giving us tips on the boot fit, helped us with the helmet, poles and goggles. We saved 10% - 20% on the items we had to purchase since renting the skis/boots. They adjusted the bindings while we picked our other items, so no need to come back for ski pick up. Lots of staff to help you, you can tell service is thier main priority. Family owned business and they care! Always have warm fuzzies after shopping there.

These guys know what they're talking about, they're helpful and they're honest. I went in looking to try some stuff on just for measurement sake and no interest in buying. The guy totally understood and was helpful and really didn't give a f*ck. It's super small, so inventory is limited. A row of skis, a row of boards and some good looking clothing. Prices were in like with retail, although did have some previous year models at a discounted price. I love that there was a fire going both inside the store and outside in a little chimenia - makes me feel like winter! They also have a tee-pee for some storage area, but still pretty cool if you ask me. It's a hike, but definitely a solid spot if you're looking for some gear and tune ups this winter season.
