Seem to be nice people, but my experience was VERY frustrating and not worth the $. Maru came over to give quote and do cleaning of our house. I was not having her do entire house which is 3 bed 2.5 baths. We talked about her cleaning only 1 bedroom, 2.5 baths, living room, an open plan kitchen with TV room and laundry area. They were not to do any shelved areas (shelves throughout the house and a large cabinet shelf that runs the length of hallway, plus our bar area). Area to clean is less than 1,400 sq ft. She gave me quote of $650. I about lost it!!! She said it was for "deep cleaning". Granted we had a German Shepherd that recently passed away and very minimal hairs still in small area of bedroom, but there were NO areas of filth! She ran her purple glove on a dresser, and told me "see? Filthy". Well that was Bull. I had actually cleaned the dresser top 2 days before. Not a drop of dust or dirt on her finger. We talked more, then she said "okay I will do your house for $450. But it will take time. I will have to be here until like 6 or 7". I said that would be fine. Fernando came in to help Maru start cleaning. That was at 2:00 pm. At 4:50, they are leaving out the front door yelling "bye family we are going now". I came in from outside. The kitchen, TV area, and half bath were not done! I asked why they had not completed the job. She said because they had to move all the rugs (they moved 1 rug and 1 small mat. I moved all the others!) She told me for her to finish what we originally agreed on it would be $750 ($100 more than her first price-gauging amount of $650!!!). I told her she could just leave. She kept trying to tell me everything was so bad there was much she had to do- BS. They did not do any dusting/cleaning of two small lamps in bedroom, there was dust at top edge of hanging picture, the closet mirrors were streaked. To justify not cleaning the other half of the house,, she claimed they spent time cleaning the ceiling exhaust fan lights in 2 bathrooms. I had told her NOT do to do those- that my husband and I would take them down to clean. She kept trying to justify charging $450 for 3 hours of work in only half of the house. in other words, $150 an hour!!! Finally she agreed to clean the kitchen, TV area and half bath for the originally agreed $450. They did not agree to do laundry area (whatever). It took them 1 more hour. No oven or toaster oven cleaning, nothing special. They did not even clean the glass on the stove hood. Brought that to her attention- "oh do you want me to do that?" Well, duh! Maru apologized for the misunderstandings but told me it was my fault because she could barely hear what I was saying. I completely disagree because each time I spoke with her I would be looking straight at her, and she would nod and say "ok" or "yes,yes", and several times repeated what I had said. The very last thing we talked about was final price She agreed to the $450 (in other words, which is more than$110 per hour for 2 people, or $55 an hour for each). They did a great job overall, hence the 2 stars, but unfortunately it was very expensive and we discovered deep scratches on both of our shower doors afterwards. Mistakes happen and that is okay - we could have peacefully come to a mutual agreement. However, when we reached out to Maru's Maids, they did not take any accountability and instead were quite antagonistic. We paid a significant amount for the cleaning and now we have to pay out of pocket to repair the shower doors too. After two months of being houseless, a service by Maru's Maids was the greatest homecoming. Our apartment complex had a mold outbreak that uprooted our lives and resulted in us living off the land for over 60 days. Since I wasn't the biggest fan of couch surfing, we were pretty excited to receive the greenlight to return to our unit, especially since we were given a full makeover provided by Maru's Maids. I'll preface this review by sharing that I've grown into quite a clean freak in my adulthood. While I'm no expert, I'm a stress cleaner and have an eye for the smallest details. Maru's Maids went above and beyond and had all those details covered. Floorboards? Check. Ventilation? Check. Ceiling fans? Couch cushions? Check Check. Cabinets? Check. The inside of our dishwasher? Double check. Maru does it all. They even reorganized/folded some of the items we had left out in our bedrooms. Maru brought a group of three to tackle two units. I recently had some tenants that moved out and they left the place in really a filthy mess. I spoke with Maru, and she came to assess the situation before providing me with a fair quote. I went with the deep cleaning. Her team arrived on time the next day and spent 6.5 hours scrubbing everything from the bathroom filters, all of the cabinets, microwave, walls, over, and dishwasher. She could not steam vac, but since I had one in my possession, her team gladly assisted me in steam vacuuming the carpet. I will 100% use them again and highly recommend them. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would! Summary: diligent hard sweet workers, go above and beyond, sparkling clean, my house is cleaner than when I first moved in. I found Maru on Yelp and she was one of the first to reply so speedily and so friendly. She worked with my schedule to come out and gave us a free estimate. I requested a deep clean because I was pregnant with my 2nd baby while wrangling a rowdy toddler, and unable to clean. She said "you don't lift a finger, I'll clean and organize it all!" What surprised me is that she organized everything! With other cleaners, they usually clean around your stuff, but she actually put things away nicely for me and our house has never looked better. Her, Fernando and her other male teammate even cleaned the high up vents in our house along with the fans in the shower. I was impressed at the attention to detail. They got the impossible hard water stains and gunk out of our bathroom that has been there for years. They spent 5.5 hours at our place working nonstop. They were very mindful and respectful of our property too. This really put an ease on our minds as I nest and prepare for my next baby. Even my husband, who has had bad experience with a prior cleaner at our house and was ready for another subpar clean with a broken item, was very impressed when he got home. I hired Maru to do a deep clean of my apartment after things got out of hand (we've all been there, right?) I was blown away by how amazing things looked after they left! Second time I used Maru Maids they were three hours late which I let slide because I had an event the next day. The third time I used Maru Maids they did not show up at all and I text them to find out where they were and they said they will get here 2 hours later than scheduled because they're busy. Dishonest. Expensive. Mediocre. I hired and paid these cleaners, and now I'm regretting it. I want to give credit where credit is due so let's start with the good. They arrived on time. They brought 4 people as they promised. They cleaned what they were supposed to clean for the most part. Here's the bad. We were looking for cleaners to do frequent cleanings. We wanted the usual once-a-month cleaning of our 3-bedroom home. We also wanted another 5 daily cleanings each week where they clean just our kitchen. We know it is a tall order, and we were willing to pay to make it worth their time. We called around and while everyone would do the monthly cleanings, they would not do the daily. They were upfront about it. We finally found Maru who agreed over the phone to do the monthly and daily. Just to be sure, she and her partner came over to our place to see what needed to be cleaned. We negotiated a bit on the pricing before all of us came to an agreement. I was ok with the monthly and daily cleaning fees, altogether giving them over $700/month. But there was a catch. We had to do an initial deep cleaning with them and they wanted to charge us $380 for our 3-bedroom home. If you don't know, that is EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. We got estimates from several cleaners, and their quotes for deep cleaning were around $200-$250 for our sized home. We asked if we could use another cleaner's deep cleaning service first but they said no. We negotiated it down to $300, which is still overpriced, but we decided to do it anyways because they were the only ones we've found so far who would do the daily cleanings. So we agreed to it with the understanding that there would be monthly and daily cleaning sessions in the future. The deep cleaning day arrives and they come with 4 people total. Maru and her partner came and they seemed experienced. The other two, not so much. One seemed very young, and I'm not even sure if legally allowed to work. At one point, I noticed that they knocked over a tab of ant poison I had placed on the kitchen counter. It was the liquid variety and you could see the droplets on the hardwood floor. I asked if they could make sure to clean that area specifically as they were getting ready to mop the kitchen floor. There were other areas they missed cleaning. I don't expect perfection, but for a overpriced deep cleaning with 4 people, I assumed the place would be pretty close. When they finished and began walking out the door, I noticed the ANT POISON HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED UP, which means they did not do a great job of mopping the kitchen. I wasn't thrilled about this because I have a 9-month-old baby just learning to crawl and this is easily something that she could touch with her hands, and inevitably put in her mouth. Add to this the fact that I pointed out the spot to them beforehand and they still neglected it. Makes me wonder how good of a job they'd do if I weren't around. Anyways, at the end of the job, we tried to figure how the next time they would come for the daily cleaning. We agreed that they would come 2 days later in the afternoon. The day before the daily cleaning, Maru texted us to tell us that [due to her schedule and travel distance, she would not be able to do the daily cleanings] AS SHE HAD PROMISED. But what changed? The location of our home certainly didn't. Our kitchen was the same size as far as I could tell. They came over twice, traveled the distance, inspected our home, and agreed to the terms. We agreed to their overpriced deep cleaning (which was mediocre as far as regular cleanings go and subpar as far as deep cleanings go) only because they agreed to do the daily cleanings. Otherwise, we would have gone with one of the less expensive cleaners. If Maru didn't want to do the daily cleanings and was upfront about it like all the other cleaners, I would have respected that. But instead, I feel she tricked us into getting an overpriced deep cleaning with full intention of backing out on the deal afterwards I know there are a lot of good reviews for her business (hopefully they're real reviewers), so I really hope it works out for you if you decide to go with her. But I would suggest you get the terms of the agreement in writing and possibly supervise them to make sure they clean up the ant poison before your child puts it in their mouth. read more

I am blown away by the job Maru and her team did in my rental condo. Maru came out the same day for an estimate and was very flexible with working around my schedule. My previous tenant did a terrible job with cleaning so when I tell you Maru had her work cut out for her, I mean it. This is my third time calling Maru for my home cleaning. In the first time she came with 4 people, since the second time, she came with 2 people. Maru always comes on time. Maru and her team always do a good job and sometimes exceed my expectations. One example is that I asked her to wipe the first floor in my refrigerator while she also wiped other floors. Granted, the surfaces they cleaned are not dustless, but considering their price, it's acceptable as I don't mind to do a final polish by myself.
