Went there to get a pedicure. I had been there a couple times before. However, today was very different. It started out great, it was very slow only two customers in the salon and three nail technician just sitting in wait. I was escorted to a foot bowl and the technician started on my $40 pedicure at about 12:30. Just as the technician was about to polish my toes, two men and four women walk in for pedicures. My technician left me to start pedicures on two people then did an eyebrow wax on another lady that walked in. Meanwhile, I'm still sitting in my chair with the toe separators between my toes. As the technician walked passed me several times, she never acknowledged me. It's now about 2:45. Feeling neglected, I got up, paid the cashier $40 and left. I do not plan on patronizing Marvelous Nails again. Since I'm not one to make a scene, and I didn't want to say something I would regret later, I felt it was best that I leave with my dignity in tact. Cindy and her staff are always so welcoming and nice. I always feel like the salon is clean and well maintained. The prices are reasonable. I've never felt rushed there, which is a bonus. While not quite as luxurious as a spa or full-on salon, it's definitely a step above your typical walk-in nail salon. read more

I stopped in for a clean and clip pedicure while visiting mom who is also a customer here at Marvelous. The salon is clean, comfortable and the staff is courteous. Tina did my pedicure and I can say without reservation that it this was one of the best if not the best pedicure that I've ever had. She was thorough, careful, knew what she was doing and did a wonderful job. I bought up to the deluxe pedicure. read more

Love love love this place! So relaxing. The people that work here do a great job of pampering you. And it's not too expensive. Good selection of nail colors to chose from or bring your own they don't mind. They don't charge extra if you want to spice it up and do multi colors either. They give great rub downs during the pedis & manis. My fave place to get my nails done in the burg! read more

Best pedicure I've ever had! I've gotten quite a few pedicures here and each has been great. It's usually pretty crowded if you go after work, but if you make an appointment you don't have to worry about any wait. Not sure how it is earlier in the day. The salon is very clean and comfortable, and every pedicure I've gotten there has lasted at LEAST a month without chipping - usually it grows out before it chips at all! The salon is also very reasonably priced, with discounts on weekdays (I think 10%). I highly recommend Marvelous Nail Salon! read more

This is my favorite nail salon over any I've been to in Williamsburg or the Richmond area. The staff is very friendly and the salon is very clean. I have never been disappointed with any service I have gotten there whether it is a full set, a regular manicure, or a pedicure. My mother and I have been going here for years and I drive all the way from Richmond to get my nails done here when I can because this is my favorite place! read more

Very clean place and takes great precautions for sanitation. Staff could make better eye contact but otherwise they do a great job! Did not feel rushed at all, despite reading other reviews that complain about this. However, it was a Sunday...this may not be the case on busier days. Would come back again. read more

I've been here a couple of times, once for a pedicure and that was fine. Today I went in to get my nails done, the woman who did them didn't ask me how I liked them at all. She rushed through them and was very unfriendly. She spoke to me twice both only to sell me another service... they seem to take anyone regardless of time and that makes the work and atmosphere suffer. read more

They are your average nail salon. They are good if you want just plain color but don't get fancy. It's a waste of money. I got a French manicure and the white did not cover the whole nail and my nails were not filed evenly. They might be better when they are not busy but I could have done a better job myself and will next time. read more

So disappointed. I made appointments for my mother, sister and myself to pamper ourselves. Being new to this area, I had done my research. Cindy came highly recommended for a new full set, so I booked my mother with her. The man on the phone also took my sisters name and mine, I assumed to write down appointments for us also. The next day, we walked in 5 minutes prior to our appointment time, and when I stated we had appointments, was told to "pick a color." So, we did, and then my mother and I were seated in pedi chairs, and my sister was left standing in the lobby. The salon was busy, 1pm on a Monday, and the confusion and chaos was the last thing we wanted out of this experience. No one knew where to put us, or who was supposed to take care (and I use that term loosely) of whom. WE HAD APPOINTMENTS. We were treated like walk-ins. I asked, as my mother was receiving her pedicure, which technician was Cindy. She was pointed out (while she was doing a pedicure) and I said, "Hi Cindy! This is my mother Anna. She has an appointment with you for a full set at 1." Cindy was polite, and smiled, but gave no response to us. The gentleman who seemed to be in charge, answering phones, pointing and directing, and probably the one who took the appointments, seemed fully consumed with finding the most inappropriate music channel on TV possible. Seriously. The demographic in the salon (paying customers) was roughly between 50 and 80 year-old ladies. His idea of entertainment for us was Hip Hop videos with barely clothed individuals grinding away on each other...on a Monday, while we are supposed to be relaxed and feeling pampered. THREE HOURS LATER...we are finished. We are now late for our next appointment, not relaxed OR feeling pampered, and my sister has her lovely choice of blue gel on her white shirt, I have fuschia polish on my white pants, and my mother has Opi Red on her capris! Nice souvenirs. We will never return to this salon. They have absolutely no idea how to run a business, much less a business that is supposed to provide personal care. It is quite obvious they do not care about anything but the money. Take my advice, go somewhere (anywhere) else. read more

I went to marvelous nail with a friend that was visiting from out of town because one of my coworkers had recommended it. We both asked for mani pedis and they told us to have a seat. I was twenty minutes into my pedicure and they hadn't even started on my friend. By the way they had plenty of staff but seemed to be too busy laughing it up together. Finally someone started on my friend. An hour later they had finished my pedicure and apparently completely forgot about the fact that I had requested manicure. When they saw me getting frustrated they started laughing again. They were so distracted with that that they actually painted my friends feet with two different polish colors. All in all this was a horrendous experience and I will never be going back. read more

If they had a minus star, I'd give them that. My appointment was 12:30. I am on the books. The person that greets me, quotes my name from the appointment book. Not sure why they have it. It is apparent they do not use it. The person that greets me tells me to go pick a polish. I do. I sit. I wait another 10 minutes, with another woman who came in with me. I'm told to go sit in pedi chair 13. I do. The bowl is dry. So I have traded one chair for another.... I wait another 10 min. The 2 women across from me have water in their bowl. They ask how much longer. They have been there for some time. When they lift their feet out of the water, their toes are wrinkled. They are told by the greeter "In a minute" ... There is another woman before them, that they are JUST getting to. So my dry bowl and I are forth at 1pm..... The person working on the lady next to me tries to give some explanation. Which I appreciate, because the greeter, who knows what time my "appointment" is ( because I'm in the book) NEVER says one thing. Based on the conversation of the regulars, the owner Cindy is on vacation. She may want to leave someone with a better understanding of time in charge next time. There are 5 million 2 hundred forty four thousand nail spots in a 10 mile radius of Marvelous. I am not going to waste my time AND pay you for your service. I left. I left your shop very disgusted and will never return. Apparently the eyebrow wax stick is not replaced after every customer. It was only thrown out after I specifically asked. So unhygienicly gross. And it's just a cheapo wooden stick. But you chose to save a few cents which has cost your a customer. What else at your shop is not clean? I would give a zero for star ratings if I could. read more

They are a great and affordable salon in an area full of overpriced spas that sell a lot of ambiance! I go regularly for their chair pedicure - as much for the foot massage, as for the terrific pedicure. They often run specials on Monday-Wednesday, so call and ask, if your schedule is flexible. They welcome walk-ins too, which is great! read more

Service - waited for over 40 min then a lady came in and asked if there was a way to be done in an hour. They sat me in the seat as if I where next and took her. I sat there for another 15 min and decide to grab my bag to leave and that's when the guy ran over to me. Totally disregarded me as a valued customer. read more
