I had a really good experience getting my gel polish, they looked great and lasted 2+ weeks. When i got the gel removed my nails have been extremely damaged. They hurt to the touch and it's really inconveniencing. I don't think the sensitivity will go away until my nails grow out completely since I got them removed a couple weeks ago. I stopped in here after shopping nearby. There is no shortage of nail salons in the Cov area, so finding "the one" will be a difficult feat. I was greeted by Joe who was very sweet and got me in immediately for my pedicure. The salon is large and had enough techs to accommodate patrons. Their selection of nail polish was vast, but I saw the only offered OPI, so Essie stans may not find this an option for them Luckily, I am not very particular, so this was fine. I was satisfied with the service, but couldn't help but compare it to my NYC salons. For the price tag, in NYC I would have gotten a full service pedicure for the price (and category) of a regular pedi. This used to be my preferred spa for a pedicure but no more. The last two pedicures, by two different techs, left my cuticles bleeding and this past week was the worst. Two days later along with the throbbing and application of antibiotic ointment, I've got a full-blown infection. Not what you want when you expect a pedicure. Been going here 8 yrs but the newish receptionist is so awful that I'm not going back. Tried for days to get an appointment with my favorite nail tech but finally agreed to go to someone else because the receptionist kept saying she was booked. Got there for my appointment and my favorite tech was just sitting there watching me go to someone else! She was there without a client for the entire hour I was there! I apologized and said I'd only seen another tech because the receptionist said she was booked. My favorite tech went and spoke with the receptionist and I could hear the bad attitude from across the room. When I went to pay I asked why I couldn't have been worked in with my normal tech and she rolled her eyes, picked up the book, slammed it on the counter and pointed to the apparent appointment. Then she said I had told her I was at work and couldn't get there until five o clock, which I did not. I was there at 4:30 for that appointment so??? I paid and went back to the tech to paint my nails. When I was finished I walked past the reception area and the second I stepped out the door the receptionist yelled "you have a nice day!". I took my daughters with me, we each had a wonderful experience and I would recommend making an appointment because it gets really busy! I had a gel manicure by Nikki, one of my daughters had a regular manicure by Lisa and my oldest got a full set done by Nisha. I'm not from around here and this place was suggested. It's about a 45 minute drive from where I'm staying in Kentwood. I've returned three times and each time I ask for Chloe. She's the best. I get the powder overlay and she does it very well. The second time was a bit thicker. But I'll just tell her to remember to go thin on me for next time. I came over the weekend and I got Tiffany as my nail tech. Right off the bat the worst attitude. She looked like she didn't want to be there. I simply asked her for a specific color with glitter on top and she straight out said "I don't want to do that" I was honestly in shock by the fact that she said it when I didn't even ask for anything crazy. I purchased a manicure here after reading the reviews. It seemed like the best place in Covington. The person who gave me a ma icure rushed through it and cut my finger when removing my cuticles. Only one spot was bleeding visibly, but when I washed my hands I felt many little cuts. I am very worried about infections. She was rough. Also, the polish job looks bad and I asked her to redo one nail. She did, but laughed about it. Not sure why. I didnt like that I was asked to pay and tip before my manicure was finished. Also, the receptionist was rude. I was still looking at the menu trying to decide if I wanted one of the pedicures as well, after signing in and she rudely said "please sit down. Sit down please. They were hurting me being violent when using the files and yelling at me orders to move my hands. Not nicely asking. They charged me 15$ for a design that they did poorly and they gave me the wrong design. I asked for a skull for Halloween and they gave me a jack the skeleton. I usually go to Pink and White Nails but they were packed, so I decided to go here for my pedi. It was the worst experience ever. The girl, that did my pedi, seemed like she was mad at the world. She was pushing, pulling, and moving my feet so rough. I just wanted it to be over. She did a terrible job on my polish. I could see through parts of it, and it looked like she didn't even bother polishing the right side of one of my toes. I will never go here again. When they finally turned my water on it was freezing cold. The jet began to suck in the plastic and almost popped the bag. For the most part, the services were acceptable but on my second visit, I was basically nickel and dimed to the point that a $40 visit wound up costing $70 after tipping the girl that did the work. I'd have no problem paying for a detailed paint job on my nails, but to be charged an additional $25 for a very basic design is unacceptable. (French manicure with a single additional line) One would expect that when there are additional costs over and above the base price, you'd get a warning. Not here. Greed cost them a regular customer.
