Does anyone know what happened to their office? Did they close down or relocate?! I'm so sad to have found their office closed down. I also did not receive a notice or call.

Hi - been a patient for over 30 years when Dr Weitzman was first in Oceanside, later Sports Arena In SD, before settling in Sorrento Valley. Best optometrist ever, and Scott and Deborah amazing. Dr Ambrose is also a fine optometrist and very nice… Read more

This is my first review for Dr. Nahl, and a bit late since I actually saw her several weeks ago. I…read morewas scheduled for Cataract surgery on one eye and then Laser surgery for the other eye (post Cataract) the week after. In regard to the first meet and pre-surgery appointment, I have mostly all good things to report. The main issue (and reason for 3 stars) is due to confusion. I'll explain. My son and I arrived on time and chose to use the car Valet Service due to my physical limitations and time factor. We were told they close at 5pm (this is 2pm) so make sure to pick up the car beforehand. We figured no problem, should only take 2-1/2 hours at most for pre-op testing. Unfortunately, once we got in, the paperwork to complete took around 30 minutes itself (the writing was so small and hard to read), so I'm sure that put me behind others. Shortly after, I was taken in for the testing. I had a very nice, quiet, gentle man assisting me. I have never had problems with eye testing in the past (having done this surgery before), however, it was confusing at times. He really did not explain what he was going to do or what he was testing for so I just tried to follow his verbal directions which were often hard to hear. He'd say (in a barely audible tone), "blink, don't blink". Then not say anything and repeat it over and over and over. Sometimes he wouldn't say "don't blink" so I was never sure if he was repeating it bc I didn't do it right or simply bc that's how many times he needed to do it. By the time the 3rd or 4th test came up, my back was killing me from all the awkward sitting with my face planted uncomfortably in the eye machine. I began to voice how much pain I was in, having walked in with a cane and obvious mobility problems, and asked how much longer this would take. He muttered something about a test that wasn't really necessary but something this particular Dr wanted him to do. We kept doing the test repeatedly, with the "blink, don't blink" issue. My eyes were so strained and tired by that time, having done all these other tests, that it was hard for me to suddenly stop blinking unexpectedly each time, so we kept repeating it over and over. He would mutter something to the effect that the scanner was not "picking up the right range" . I kept apologizing bc I thought it was my fault that he had to repeat it so often. Finally, after all the testing, we had to wait over 30 minutes for Dr. Nahl to talk to me. And boy did she talk! She bragged a lot and kept looking at and repeating my issues and how she was going the extra mile for me. When I stated that we had been there for awhile and my back was really hurting (which she responded to with condensation), she explained that the last test didn't need to be done and in fact, there was something wrong with the scanner itself and that's why he kept repeating it. I was stunned and bit frustrated bc here I was apologizing for being such a lame patient and unable to "stop blinking" - and it wasn't me afterall. All that said, we did not leave that office until 5:15! And it was like a torture session! I even mentioned the valet parking issue several times, expressing concern about them closing at 5pm and how we would get to our car. They weren't the least bit concerned. But sure enough, it was an ordeal getting outside and then getting to our car - which they had parked several blocks away! There was no way in my physical condition that I could walk that far, so I had to wait another 40 minutes on a cold, wintery nite to finally get our car and go home in major traffic! (Thx happily to the parking security guard who had to drive my son over in his cart) Here's the best part.....! After weeks of planning, a 3 hr OV/testing and a couple of phone calls to verify everything, one week before surgery, I get a call and msg that says 'gee we're really sorry, but apparently Dr. Nahl isn't part of your insurance plan afterall, so we have to cancel the surgeries and we'll just let you know when she does accept your insurance'. Whaaatt!!!??? You have got to be kidding me! I don't care how good she thinks she is, I don't want her to do my surgery anymore - that was the final straw - and that's not even everything I could add to this review about my experience. Anywho, do what you want with this information, but I personally lost my respect for her and her office staff.

There are lots of Opthamologists to choose from in San Diego and I know I made the right choice. I…read morenever had to wait longer than 5 minutes in the waiting area and was never rushed. I felt well taken care of, every step of the way! Dr.Nahl chooses staff that reflect her: very attentive and intelligent. Quality care that is uniquely personal. I elected to do the monovision surgery and I am being treated for dry eye as well. The price covers several after care appointments.

All 3 times, the staff were amazing and helpful. Everything was explained to me in detail and they made sure I was comfortable. I had very bad vision but was at ease with the surgery considering how the folks are at Gordon Schanzlin. The surgery itself was probably only 5 mins, but a lot was done to make sure I was calm and ready for it. When I was a bit nervous during surgery, they helped distract me momentarily so we could continue seamlessly. I was given clear instructions for aftercare and i had zero complications. I even drove myself to my follow up like they said id be able to! When I needed receipts to help with FSA / insurance reimbursements, I called in and was assisted upfront. I never had any issues with the office side of things either! 3 months later, i still have 20/20 vision and 0 issues. I'm very happy with my treatment and would highly recommend Dr Echegoyen and the Gordon Schanzlin Institute.

I was initially given expired eye drops before surgery, which I reported. After surgery, I developed an eye infection, and when I was given a new bottle on 03/30/2026, it was set to expire on 04/04/2026--just days later. When I called, I was told it's "okay" to use expired drops, which is very concerning. For a clinic like NVISION Eye Centers, this level of carelessness with medications is unacceptable. I would not recommend this clinic based on my experience.

I'm 6 months removed from my LASIK procedure and I wanted to update my review to give more of what…read morehappened from the day of the surgery on. Day of the Surgery: The actual procedure was done in a very short period of time. I felt pressure on my eye socket, but nothing else. You just stare at some lights and each eye is done in a matter of 20-30 seconds. Once you're done, they give you protective goggles and send you off with whoever is driving you. You get meds to help you sleep and relax your eyes for the rest of the day. When I woke up from this, I could already see much better. Next Day: I woke up and was astonished at how good my vision was. I have books across the room from my bed and I could read all the titles from where I was laying. Pre-surgery I couldn't even tell there was writing where the titles were. I had my check up at NVision, which I drove myself to and the rest of the day was great. Day 3: This day, my eyes hurt like hell. I took drops a lot and tried to keep my eyes closed a lot. The rest of the week, the pain decreased and went away and my vision continued to improve. I was never more excited when I didn't have to wear the goggles to bed anymore haha Over the next several weeks and months, my eyesight was much crisper than it had ever been when I wore contacts. Colors were more vibrant and I could read street signs much farther away. My eyes needed drops at the beginning and end of days as they were frequently dry and to this day I still have minor halos around lights at night, but damn this eyesight is a dream. If you are eligible for Contura, I would definitely spend the extra money and do it. It made a big difference for me.

I was absolutely petrified to go through with eye surgery, and am generally an extremely anxious…read moreperson as it is. To know that I was considering trusting someone to shoot lasers into my eyeballs was horrifying. For this reason, I've put off LASIK and hadn't seriously considered taking the leap of faith for years. About three years ago, I was told that I could no longer wear contact lenses, or I'd risk blindness due to over a decade of wearing contacts while out surfing. I guess the combination of saltwater, sand granules, and whatever else trapped between the contact and my eye had caused severe scarring and repeated infections. Without contacts, surfing just hasn't been the same. I couldn't see well enough out in the lineup, and felt very depressed remembering what it used to be like when I was able to wear contacts out there. My only option was eye surgery, or a lifetime of squinting and not really enjoying my biggest passion in life, which I've been doing for 24 years. I came across Clearview online, and spent tens of hours, literally, researching the clinic, Dr. Sandy Feldman, reading reviews, etc. I decided to go in for a consultation, and was immediately put at ease by the friendliness, professionalism, and patience of the staff. In terms of patience, I'd especially like to thank Jared, who sat with me for over an hour answering all of my questions and addressing my concerns, never being forceful or trying to get me to sign and schedule. We discussed what type of surgery was best for me, how much it was going to cost (I received an Educator discount which was great,) and what the recovery timeline was. I ended up scheduling surgery for yesterday, 5/15, which at the time was about two weeks out. Last week, amidst another freak out about this, I called Jared and asked if it would be possible to observe a LASIK operation to settle my nerves. Sure enough, he found a patient that was kind enough to oblige and invited me in to watch. The entire operation took less than ten minutes and looked like no big deal! The patient came out smiling and said he felt fine. That really was the final piece that encouraged me to just commit and get this handled. I went in for surgery at 2:30 yesterday. I was a terrible patient, did not take things well, was not calm whatsoever, and repeatedly freaked out. I squeezed the small teddy bear they gave me as if I was a toddler, and squeezed the surgical tech's hand, asking Dr. Feldman if "everything was ok," and "did something go wrong?" She exhibited herculean levels of patience and empathy. I got through it, there was absolutely no pain, and the experience felt like something out of a science fiction movie. It was actually very cool! I went home, took the provided sleeping pills, and passed out. While I woke up intermittently throughout the night, the worst of it was just a feeling like I had sand stuck in my eyes, blurry vision, and a sensation as if I was looking through a steamed up glass. I woke up this morning around 5, (twelve hours of sleep is more than enough,) and found that the gritty sensation had since disappeared, my sight was near perfect, and I felt more or less normal. Unbelievable! I drove myself to my pre-op appointment (without glasses), met with Dr. Amir who told me that I was healing nicely, and was in and out of the office in ten minutes. I challenge others to be as freaked out and apprehensive about going through with eye surgery as I was. I was doing all of the things you shouldn't do: -Googling horror stories about LASIK going wrong -Hyperfixating on the rare low review and looking for one that stated someone had gone blind -Listened to a bunch of Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder and considered if my degree in Jazz Saxophone would be enough to make a living as a blind man All is well! My only regret, as many have stated, is not getting this done sooner. Just do it! You're going to be fine, you'll love the results, it does not hurt, and you can trust Dr. Feldman and her team. Thank you all so much for everything!
