They charged me full price on my contact lenses because they didn't apply my insurance coverage. And when I called them to ask them about it ( btw, they don't reply to voice mail so make sure you keep calling until someone picks up), they blamed me on not telling them that I've insurance. And I clammily told the that I've been with them for five years, they should have a record in front of them. And I asked him if they charge everybody full price without checking their insurance, and wait for angry customers to call back?...He went silent, put me on hold, and told me later that I'm lucky that they are able to claim my insurance after my purchase. I have also gotten two pair of glasses from them and they both had problem and I need them to redo them...and again, the customer service is hit or miss. So I guess this is it. I was originally a customer at the Fashion Valley location for 3 years and loved my experience. Unfortunately, after they closed I switched to this location and have been nothing but disappointed. The appointment itself was fine, but after nothing has gone right. My trials were not ordered correctly, what type of trials I was getting was not communicated to me, once they finally arrived I left work early to pick them up and the store was closed. Lastly when I finally (after 2 months) was able to order my monthly supply was told two different rebate amounts for the contacts. Overall you can tell the staff does not care. Miscommunication has made this is experience 10X more difficult than it needs to be. read more

I love this place! I saw Dr. Sandoc and she is as good as it gets. She listened to what I had to say and gave me the perfect lens to try. You see - for years and years, I was using the Focus Monthly Contacts. They were perfect for me! Then they discontinued them. Of course, like any reasonable person, I bought 3 years supply. Last year, that supply finally ran out and I had to switch. I went to Target and the Vision provider I saw was not assertive. I felt like I was the boss, which should never be the case when it comes to my eyesight. Dr. Sandoc took images of my eyes - more like scans than images and it was really interesting to see what was going on. Especially because I could clearly see the science behind it and not lick your finger and then stick it up in the air like Mr. Target guy. 100% recommend Optom-Eyes - Especially Dr. Sandoc. Used to be a big fan of this location, as they are one of the closest locations that carry my favorite designer brands. In September, it was easy to schedule eye exams for myself and my husband. The new tests that they did on my eyes was the latest in technology. They follow COVID-19 protocol to ensure the safety of customers, including sterilizing frames between customers, and only allowing customers into the store by appointment only. The disappointment came with follow-up. I have been trying to contact them to refill my contacts, and obtain our prescriptions and have been unsuccessful. I have been calling practically every day, multiple times a day, for 2 weeks and have yet to hear back. I have even requested an appointment online, but yet again, no response. I am not sure if they are closed due to COVID, but I called another location, and they said the Mission Valley location should be open. And judging by a review from another yelper, they are still open. At the very least, if they are closed, they should mention so on their answering machine or site, because it is quite unprofessional to leave customers hanging for services they have paid for. read more

Having to work Monday-Friday I was very limited to where I can schedule a Saturday appointment for a eye exam. I am very happy with my decision to booking my appointment here. Everyone was friendly and helpful. When looking for glasses I didn't feel overwhelmed or bothered by the sales lady who was helping me. She listened to what I wanted and gave me options to choose from. The doctor also was helpful and made sure I had the correct lenses I needed. Their equipment was up to date and worked fine. They accept VSP If you do have that insurance. Def would recommend to anyone. read more

Initially, when I first called this company, I told them I have Insurance. I make an appointment. I go to my appointment and I try to give them my insurance information. They tell me that my insurance doesn't qualify and that I have to pay out-of-pocket. And because I needed the glasses I went ahead and paid out-of-pocket. A year later I called for a new examination they run my insurance, and it says that I'm covered. I've had his Insurance now for two years. They have been lying to me this entire time making me pay out of pocket. Over 1,000 paid out of pocket. Thieves just lying and making me pay when I have had the insurance this entire time! I don't know why they would treat me so unfairly and lie and manipulate me. Terrible business I don't recommend going to this business don't chance being lied to just for a few dollars! read more

Dr. Sandoc is fantastic, professional, and very easy to work with. The support staff, however, are terrible. When it took them 3 times to verify my benefits during my appointment, I initially thought that was annoying, but it wasn't until I tried ordering contacts at Costco when they really took it up a notch... I had to call them five (yes FIVE) separate times, waiting for them to fax the RX each time, and *none* of them were correct despite me calling with extremely specific instructions on what needed to be changed (and spending an hour an a half at Costco vision and not even leaving with the contacts). Also I thought it was super weird that the week prior when I had called and asked them to fax it to Costco in advance, they said okay (but then obviously didn't send it) without me doing any type of release; then, when I called again once I was there (because Costco didn't have it despite them saying they sent it) they were super adamant that I suddenly needed to sign a release. A release which they did not provide and never asked me for before. Unfortunately for the actual doctors, the staff make this place not worth the headache. read more

I called the location since they aren't open for walk ins (looking for glasses - had Rx). They never returned call. Went ahead and called a couple weeks later to get an appt for next day. They asked for all my info/insurance up front which I was ok with. When I arrived they just let me in, confirming my info and then ignored me, not offering any assistance on picking out any glasses. There was only one other person in the place, and 2 employees and they couldn't ask to help? So I left, went to another location to find they'd submitted themselves to my insurance already as providing (service?) where the helpful people at where I went had to make a call to get it taken care of. Found the staff to be really rude and undertrained. Had to come back multiple times to get prescriptions fixed because they measured something wrong or due to "uncalibrated equipment." I tried to get my prescription after my exam, because they're on the pricier side, and they refused to help me. Not worth your time. Plenty of other optometry choices out there. read more

I have been going through a really difficult time with my sight over the last year. It's been growing progressively worse in a very short period of time. I found that I could see clearly wearing my contacts and my glasses at the same time, it was past time to get it checked out. Christy helped me get my eye tests done, she was really nice and patient, answering any questions I had. Dr. Lin was covering as optometrist in this office while the normal doctor was on leave. He asked me to tell him what I was experiencing, and confirmed some of the things I already expected. His main concern was that my one eye had become so much worse that it was double my eyeglass prescription--why I could only see with my glasses and contacts. We discussed the problem of the decompensation of my eyesight and he fitted me for contacts for the time being. I think I may have looked a little demented when I left the store because I was so happy to see so clearly. I knew my sight was bad but not how bad until I left there being able to see correctly. I really loved this place, Dr. Lin's concern for the progression of my weaker eye and his directions to check sooner than the normal year made me feel he truly cared. So often doctors don't take that investment and I feel confident in Optom-Eyes for having a doctor who was interested in my future even though it wasn't his normal office. I look forward to meeting the regular doctor at my next visit. read more

I used to go to Lenscrafters for years. And they were good for those years... Then I came here. Talk about an upgrade. Dr. Henry Lim is a prime example that you don't need a fancy office to prove you know what you are doing. This place is very small, but it gets the job done. Everyone is super friendly there. The optometrist goes into detail to why your eyes are at the level they are at now, how to improve them (if needed) and what to expect later in life. He is very thorough and takes his time to make sure all questions are answered. I can't go anywhere else. I live in national city and refuse to settle for another optometrist. Five years ago I was diagnosed with Keratoconus in my left eye and my eye was always blurry. I have been to at least 6 different doctors with in that time and they weren't able to correct it. When I came to see Dr. Henry Lin, he knew exactly how to treat my eye and was able to correct it within minutes when other doctors has spent hours. This doctor really knows what he is doing and he is always up to date on the latest research and technology. Lastly, the service is very friendly. They were able to work with me and my insurance. They have the attitude that the patient comes first. I left the office with so much joy because I can now see again comfortably for the first time in 5 years, I even called my mom and my girlfriend telling them how excited and happy I was. They were glad that I actually found a really good doctor for once. I highly recommend coming here for your Vision Care. ------ Update: I initially gave this optometrist a great review but over time, I have never been called back for a check up and have felt neglected from this Optometrist. We never had a solution for my problem. The contacts that were given kept hurting after 3 visits of changing my contacts. In the end never use them anymore. It took months for me to find a reputable Eye Specialist but with the help of Zoo Doc and Optom-Eyes Vision Care, in Mission Valley. I was able to locate a well-reviewed Optometrist with a solid education and background that meet all of my health insurance medical coverage requirements. After qualifying for coverage with my health insurance, I was scheduled On-line, checked in online and in and out of there in less than 1 hour, which by the way included my eye examination, fitted with new frames and optics? They had to order the pre-selected specs but it arrived in less than a week of ordering it. I even enjoyed a nice cup of Hot java flavored coffee while I waited for the doctor, which by the way was only 10 minutes.
