    Kites purchased

We love taking the kids here. Toys are carefully selected. We recently purchased two kites and they launched within seconds. The owner explained that she selected kites that she knew kids would be able to fly. She knows her products well. Kids are able to touch and play with displays. We have been coming to this shop for years. Staff is extremely friendly and always makes time for your questions. We always leave having a nice experience.

Our awesome, great quality purchase today!!!

Can't say enough good things about this little gem in downtown Crystal Lake. My kids are in awe of it. Today we made our first big purchase there of a doll house for our daughter's birthday and she couldn't be happier. Almost every toy they have in this store generate complex thinking, stem learning, and hands on play. I love it and so do they!

Currently two of K's favs. (There's always a Marvin's toy among his top daily preferences)

Jess Stetson didn't just open a store--she built a sanctuary for puzzle people, LEGO lovers, neurodivergent kids (and adults), families, gamers, and anyone who needs a moment of peace in a chaotic world. This place isn't trying to be cute or trendy--it's deeply intentional. It's certified sensory-inclusive for a reason. Jess--who is a mom, a builder, a visionary--made sure every single person who walks through the door feels seen and safe. We're talking fidget kits, quiet rooms, strobe-reducing glasses, and headphones on hand. Who does that? Someone who lives this and built something from her soul. The LEGO rentals? Unreal. You can build massive sets right there at the tables, surrounded by joy and community and color. They've got game nights, trading days, rare LEGO sets, vintage board games, puzzles, consignment treasures--you name it. But what they really have is heart. Jess took a 42-page business plan and turned it into something that changes lives. Not even being dramatic. If you've never been, go. If you've been, go again. Bring your friends, your family, your overstimulated brain, your inner child. The Pieceful Project is not a store. It's a movement. Five stars isn't enough.

By that I mean that there is never anything impressive about the normal visit. You can normally see employees tasking their freight, or taking amongst each other, or sometimes helping customers. The one thing I'm about 99% sure of is that if they're busy helping a customer, it's because that customer approached them and not the other way around. Not for me today though, and not even because I had that lost look on my face. No. Today was different. Today, Mike, was working in the produce area. He was putting fruit out, ANNNND he was paying attention to his surroundings- the customers in his area. He was greeting all of us!! And though you couldn't see behind the mask upon his face, you just knew there was a huge smile on his face. It was such a refreshing change from the usual visits I experience. I think we can all attest that the "norm/average" Walmart worker- the ones who don't lift their head up to even look at you, much less say hello- they're a dime a dozen. Not just at Walmart, but in retail in general. Workers like Mike don't come along too often. Workers that exceed the expectations of customers are worth their weight in gold nowadays. Mike was going above and beyond what has sadly become the now accepted norm, non-interaction due to task or unfriendly/uncaring associates, just by interacting with the people around himself. By being considerate and asking if he could help anyone find anything. Did we need this, or that.... and in a charismatic jovial way. It was truly a delight!!!!! After my short interaction I started to walk away. I'm not sure what it was, but I felt compelled to go back and talk with this guy. I told him I thought he was great!! To never change the way he is with his customers. He's truly a rarity these days. I asked if I could take his picture and post it in a review, and he said I could. Walmart in Crystal Lake, Il.- you should be having this guy train all of your employees on customer service. He was the only employee out of the 7 I ran across during my visit that said hi, how are you today. Can I help you find anything? There was only one more out of the 7 that even spoke, and that was the gal saying "oh excuse me- I'm sorry" after she had crossed back and forth past me twice already. The other 5 were too busy in what they were doing to notice anyone around them, or they didn't care. Thank you, Mike, for the great customer service!! Keep up the great job that you're doing.

If they were all off today wouldn't it be a good idea to turn off online ordering? Would be quicker for some of us just to go in and get our stuff ourselves. I don't appreciate my time being wasted.
