This place is a joke. Don't waste your time. They take your money. Don't listen to your requests or concerns. Then argue with you rather than for you. Cooper Carter is a slimy "attorney." She doesn't follow the rules, doesn't communicate, and gaslights her clients into thinking otherwise. Everything is filed on her behalf, and she has no ability to conduct herself ethically. If you have children, avoid this attorney. She will waste an enormous amount of time and is sloppy and relies on the judges to do her job for her. She will also abuse the process by failing to serve critical documents and wont respond to any conferences. Avoid at all costs.​ read more

Cooper Carter showed up for Tiffany Daniels which was my friend's attorney. My friend ended up in jail after the hearing. Cooper Carter showed up late to the hearing not prepared or anything. Not one person has return calls my friend is sitting in the jail 5 days for nothing paying child support which is due 9/1 (in the future) and not one person has reach out to her in jail from this attorney's office. I have called over 10 times. Spoke with Mr. Marx today he said he would get back to me nothing. All terms on the courts documents have been met but my friend is still sitting in jail. I called again today and Rod is supposed to call me nothing. Nobody cares about you at this law firm beware. If you go to jail they don't help. Cooper Carter also didn't talk to my friend's husband after the court hearing she snuck out of the court house. Also the other side of the case has been calling and emailing this law firm no response as well. Just unbelievable. Please pray for my friend who is sitting in jail for another night read more

One time she did not show up i court or bother to email to notify me that she was not going to make it. Im considering reporting her to the BAR association due to negligence and not looking out for the client's best interest. All about getting your money. They will give you no answers or advice when you've already paid them, but will make sure they never return calls. The receptionist is as rude as she can get. "Anything else, okay bye" once you tell her what you would like. Not a "okay I'll get that sent over or get back to you". Disgusting lack of customer service. This attorney advertises a low flat-rate, therefore takes in a high volume of customers. That results in the assigned attorney not being able to spend the necessary time handling your case. You are not able to get in direct contact with your attorney for almost a week - this happens every time you reach out to their offices...even when you mention it is an emergency. You will end up paying the same costs as if you hired an attorney by the hour becuase their offices will not complete paperwork or file motions until you pay them more. The only time I ever saw my attorney was in the court room. Half way thru my case I had to hire another attorney. I saw immediate results with my new attorney - they contact me from their cell and even text me. I am still reaping the the drawbacks of hiring Marx, Altman, and Johnson. I found out there were motions that were not filed on my behalf and many things I should have done earlier in the divorce process. My advice is to hire a different law firm. Marx, Altman, and Johnson will only do the bare minimum to get you thru a divorce and if I would have stuck with them, there is no telling where my divorce would have landed me. read more

This is my experience and is true, it happened so long ago that I couldn't get any benefit other than prevent this to happen to other people. I hired Roderick Marx for my divorce 10 years ago (I don't remember if he was part of this firm yet or not); back in those days, internet reviews were not as common as they're today and that's one of the reason (but not the only one) I decided to do it after all these years. I hired him because his ad said flat fee for "uncontested" divorce and it was cheap. I met with them probably a couple of times only, and he just asked me few questions regarding kids custody, child support and properties...I thought lawyers were supposed to advise the best option for HIS client but he didn't suggested anything or made any recommendations, he just filled up the papers according to my "yes" or "no" answers, few weeks later...when it was the court date, an assistant showed up (which I understand) and the process was over easily because my ex- didn't showed up either, so I was granted my divorce. Few years later I had a child visitation issues, and had to hire another attorney...when I showed her the divorce order, she was surprised when she saw I was paying child support even though my kids lived with me 50% of the time and we had shared custody, she told me I shouldn't been paying but since my ex- was having tough times I decided to keep doing it...now today I went to ask the child support office what I needed to modify my order because 2 of my kids are now 20 and 18 and the youngest one is now living with me full time, they told me I needed to re-open the case but when I asked if at least I could reduce the child support since my 2 kids are old enough, they told me I need to keep paying the same amount until my youngest is 18 or the court order is modified!!! They told me the way the divorce papers were written does NOT specify a reduction of the child support every time a kid becomes adult, is the same no matter what until the youngest is 18!!! What kind of attorney does that for HIS client??? So not only I WASN'T supposed to pay ANY child support all these years but now I found out I'm stuck paying for 2 adults and a kid that lives with me unfairly until I modify the order again. As you can see, he never worked on my behalf (even though I hired him), for him I was just another easy "money order". Be aware of the cheap attorney's fees, in the long run...it could be more expensive. read more

This law firm offered a free 40 minute consultation. When I arrived, the receptionist demanded that I provide 2-1/2 pages of personal information. I indicated that I would provide basic information about myself, but was unwilling to go beyond that until I had received some basic information. In my personal opinion, the receptionist was unpleasant and intimidating. Having been denied the ability to meet with an attorney, I left. I feel fortunate that I will not have to interact with this person on an ongoing basis. read more

They claim they don't charge you for phone calls because THEY DONT ANSWER THEM. They have a secretary who says either they are in court and will send them a message. Don't be fooled by the price and what the guy at the consultation says. They will pull you in and make promises and as soon as you retain them then your hell will start. If you are going through a divorce with children don't go here. Pay a little more money and go to a lawyer that knows how to communicate with there clients. read more

RUN as fast as you can to another law firm!!! I too was fooled by the low fees and promises from the web site. I was assigned an attorney, Jared Kochurek. I never met my attorney! I was dealing with an emergency child custody case. When my husband would call threatening me, I would call to speak with my attorney to check the status. Same as others, NEVER a return call!!! I called the sheriff to ensure the papers were served since apparently it was too much for the law firm to do. I too had to hire another attorney. I could not risk the safety and well being of my child to incompetence!!! I requested a refund of my money paid ($1,000) and was only sent $375. When I received the money, I received a "detailed" breakdown of hourly charges. Funny, web site specifically states, "no hourly fees are charged". I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and The State Bar of Texas. Both found that Jared Kochurek did nothing wrong! Not sure why, I have yet to get a reason. I believe Jared Kochurek is part of the good ol' boys club along with the Better Business Bureau and the State Bar of Texas! This happened in 2011 and I still am pissed about it! read more
