The low quote should have been my first tip off, but it wasn't. They told me because the person…read morethat referred me was someone they do a lot of business with, they were going to take care of me. I didn't want to go through my insurance because the repair was only going to cost $100 more than my deductible and I didn't want to chance a rate increase for $100. What they meant was we are going to do shoddy work, make it look good on the outside, and hope you never notice. And I didn't notice... Until I got in an accident and the shop I took my car to then pointed out a few BIG things... Like using galvanized house-type screws to screw my fender back on when the clips were broken. No one ever told me the brackets weren't usable or gave me the option to pay more to have it fixed right... They did ask me if I wanted another little ding fixed, told me they would just charge me time, and I said no. They fixed it anyway, without charge, which was nice. But when I get told by a reputable shop that whoever did the work on my car screwed me over, that's not a good sign. The front fender still won't line up flush and the new shop told me that unless they pulled that fender and replaced it, it never would. I needed to drop my car off the night before my scheduled repair because I was leaving on vacation and they had me leave my car keys in a planter box by the front door. Now it's albany, but that made me really nervous. Nothing happened, luckily. Be careful, you look for cheap and you get cheap. Spend a few bucks more and have it done right.

Another great job from Albany Auto Body. There is just no one else I would trust to work one of my…read morerare cars. With the job quality this shop provides and prices far more reasonable then anyplace I have considered, they are great. The damage repair to my 1958 British roadster is above reproach and well within a reasonable cost. The look better than the day it came off the show room. The present plans are to show it off in the 2015 Albany Veteran's Day parade in 4 days. There less than 100 of these cars left in the world and that is why only Albany Auto body is allowed to touch this car. They have more than earn my gratitude for a job well done.

Are you kidding me, Free Bird? You're the best…read more I rear ended an SUV in my 04 Honda Civic (think the hood was smushed up like an accordion, and the front headlight was smashed in). Rick France was a godsend; he looked over the car thoroughly, explained things in layman's terms (I know NOTHING about cars), and went through the estimate. To be fair, the estimate was around $3300, which was more than half of what I paid for it to begin with. He could see I was visibly upset and gave me some great advice, which was to list it on craigslist as a car that could be rebuilt, rather than sell it to a chop shop which wouldn't pay more than a few hundred. Rick even went so far as to check to see if someone he knew (who was looking for a fixer upper for his daughter) would be interested. You don't get that kind of service many places). In the end, I placed it on craigslist and had two interested buyers within an hour. Ultimately, I ended up trading it in for 2k at a dealership which I put towards a new car. If I ever (holy sh*t let's hope not) rear end anyone else, I'll be back here for sure.

He threatened that the other insurance would force them to use subpar parts and that we would have to pay for labor. This was in direct conflict with what we heard and experienced from the insurance company. In one conversation when we were asking questions he hung up on us after suggesting we might want to take our car elsewhere. We decided and the insurance company agreed and paid for us to tow the car to a different body shop in town to get repaired. DO NOT take your car here.
