I'm now three weeks past a left knee replacement and I have been completely satisfied with the services from this group, from the DO (VanHuysen) and the orthopedic surgeon (Roehr) to the nurses, the Physician Assistants, and the X ray technicians. All have been professional. I'm impressed by the quality of care and the attentiveness to my situation. And, best of all, my left knee no longer hurts at all. The previous review (from '13) blames the billing issues on the practice but I bet it is more about the hospital at large. I've noticed that when patients carry a balance (e.g., their insurances have paid the hospital but the patients haven't yet paid their portions) they are often asked if they want to "pre-pay" some amount on subsequent services. My portion of the bill after my insurance paid was $323 (not an unreasonable amount, I thought). Payment was due Sept. 9. I mailed my check to the hospital in mid August. But before the check cleared, I went to the Outpatient Lab for labwork. It was there I was asked at Registration if I wanted to "pre-pay." Of course not, I said. My insurance is awesome and I always pay my bills on time. I suppose it's a reminder that hospitals are a business and they need to pay their bills too. About the practice in question, I know that pre-authorization for services was successfully sought, I had in August received in the mail an Explanation of Benefits (EOB), and MyChart shows an itemized bill. I would have no reluctance recommending this practice (and, as it turns out, one of my friends who is marveling at my progress, decided to pull the trigger and get an appointment at the practice in early September to look at his wonky knee).

I've been to other therapy businesses, where patients were nothing more than an assembly line of people doing exercises. The therapists would have 2-3 people at once. So they would give two exercises while they did something with the other and rotate around. So you weren't given full attention to make sure the exercises were being done correctly or if they were a benefit to the patient. This doesn't happen at PT One, as you look around during your exercises, you have a therapist watching your muscle movements, making sure it's doing what it should and not causing pain - and you can see the other therapists treating their patients in the same manner. I highly recommend Physical Therapy One if you need PT to overcome an injury.

Valerie and Adidi have been very helpful occupational therapists helping get use of my hand and…read morethumb after having surgery on my thumb last December. Valerie has been very helpful--I accidentally messed up my hand spint/brace that they made me when I slipped on ice. Valerie was able to see me later that afternoon and repair it for me, and I had been then earlier in the day for therapy! I love tye paraffin wax hand dip and the hand massage! That seems to really help loosen my hand up. Four weeks of occupational therapy, and I see massive improvement in my use and strength since surgery mid December. Another great feature for me is its not far from our home! The receptionist, Deneesha, is a sweetheart. She always greets you with a smile. I'm working on her though--trying to help her not be afraid of black cats! Haha! No seriously, she is definitely a crowd's jewel to the therapusts! Deneesha is very personable as well as helpful!

I did use the ice machine and the leg machine which I loved it. Made me push myself up to 100% for speed and 120 for the bend. The girls I had worked hard with me and they just couldn't believe that I did so well with it. It pays to work hard I have no limp and I'm very happy with the turn out. I…read morehave never had such a great experience as I have today, with Dr. Tiffany Thaler PT, DPT at NovaCare on West Main. I was scheduled in quickly, and appreciate the availability. Often, medical appointments take forever to schedule because of full calendars. However, this time I went for vertigo and other dizziness and was scheduled in within 2 weeks (thank you!). Tiffany was smart, thoughtful, very thorough in her initial assessment exam (which went quite long but was worth it), and kind. I am very impressed with her work, thinking outside the box, and finding paths for us to work on together to get me well again. The office is in the old Borgess building across from Meijer, which has definitely seen better days. However, it is clean, well-lit, has windows, and has plenty of room to move around the equipment. Every PT seemed to work well together and gave a hand when needed. The desk staff were helpful in scheduling appointments, taking care of insurance, and problem solving an appointment and paperwork for our daughter. The building gets 3 stars, honestly, but Dr. Thaler's professionalism, skill, and geniusness at her job bump it up to a 5. If you need a PT, go see her. I'm so glad I did.
