After his inspection, Victor claimed one side of my roof needed an asphalt roofing patch. What he didn't tell me was that, five to six feet from his attic ladder inspection, was an extremely obvious water pipe leak that had created black fungus on nearby wood. So obvious you could easily view without a flashlight. So what we have here is deceiving a possible customer by telling him he has a roofing leak when, in reality, a plumber was needed to correct the interior water pipe leak. Thus, my one-star rating, which actually should be lower.

He then promised to send me a quote within the next day. He did not. I called back on November 2 (again, see screen-shot). This time, Chris was more curt. He didn't seem to remember chatting on the 27th. Fine. I outlined the specs on my house once again. He, oddly, asked if I sent plans over. It was odd to hear I needed to send plans to get a quote for insulation on a house less than 1000 sf. He never asked for plans on October 27. Overall, he frankly acted putout by the idea of giving a quote. And maybe that's why I never got one: even after calling and answering Chris's questions twice. If you ever get an estimate on roofing and they want to install this type of venting, immediatley find another roofer! It's a cheap ineffective option and prevents your attic from venting heat properly and can lead to long term wood or shingle damage from excessive attic heat during the summer months. Long story short, I wound up reaching out to Jose at Restoration Roofing and his crew came out to inspect my roof and the attic. They replaced the Cobra Ridge venting and were very efficient and thorough making sure everything was done correctly. One was unavailable for 2 weeks (with major rain predicted), one came in with a higher price, and Dan Parks Home Improvement came in with a more reasonable price. I found this company to be reputable, and they were also willing to work on the weekend to get things finished before the weather turned rainy again. I was happy with the quality of the work, the timeframe for completion, and the price. After they completed this work, I hired them to do some other repairs, including work on the chimney (which I already knew I was going to have to do eventually) and repairs to gutters with installation of gutter covers (another project I had been considering). Edit for follow-up: This company also spoke to my insurance adjuster and helped me get approval to proceed with repair without waiting. The insurance adjuster visited this morning, inspected the roof, and approved the claim in full (no adjustment except for the deductible).
