I got several bids when I needed a new roof, and am very happy I went with B&R. One was about 1/3 cheaper but some things were a little questionable. The other 3 all had great reviews, but one was several thousand more, and the one that was the same price as B&R never went on the roof, and so wasn't able to really say how much wood replacement my flat third floor roof would need. The fact B&R could start sooner sealed the deal. I was a little nervous about a company that didn't have jobs lined up and could start so fast, but their reviews were 5-star on three different review sites, so I decided to get past that nervousness. I'd bought the house 14 years earlier from a flipper who'd done the cheapest job possible on the roof, including something I hadn't thought much about--they wrapped the edge of the third floor roof with big and somewhat unattractive sheets of aluminum. So when B&R took that off on day 1 I saw that underneath there was rotted but once very attractive historic crown molding. I called B&R that night and they were able to quickly change course. Instead of just rewrapping the edges as before, their guy was able (for a reasonable extra cost) to use a metal bender and do a very impressive job of reproducing the crown molding. Their work even impressed my mom, who's spent 40 years working professionally as a Historic Preservation Specialist helping save and restore buildings from the same era. There are multiple reasons why I'm happy with their work, but I can't write forever, and hope this helps you feel comfortable that they're worth trusting with your job. read more

Don't even bother getting estimates with anyone else. This is the second time I have hired B &R and I would give them 10 stars if I could. (The first time for my roof -you can read that review below). But this time was for a bigger project which was to replace the siding on my 80 year old house and install new gutters. When my old siding came off the wood behind it was so rotten, that B&R practically had to rebuild my house. I suspected that some of the wood might be bad, but when I saw how bad it was, I went into a total panic spiral. I would have gone completely mental if I had anyone but B&R working on my house. There were about 12 men working on my house and they were incredibly skilled- total artisans. They didn't cut any corners. The quality of their work just blew me away. They replaced all the rotten wood and even wood that to me didn't appear rotten. I think that maybe another company would have just nailed siding over some of that because who would know? My house - well - it is totally sealed up tight now. And it looks beautiful. It's not the new siding that makes my house look so good now - but the craftmanship of the work. With the new fascia and trim everything just pops. I went from having the worst house on the block to the nicest. Before the work on my house was even completed my neighbor across the street hired them to do her siding. One thing unique to where I live - which is right next to 495. B & R installed foam board insulation under my siding and not only is my house noticeably warmer now, I can not hear the highway at all!! It's mind blowing. And it is also nice not to hear my furnace cycling on and off all the time either. I'd like to add that everyone thought I was crazy to do this project because I own a 24 year old car that breaks down all the time and my family and friends all felt I should replace my car instead. But I never trusted the roof and gutters and siding on my house before and now I do. It's much better to have a reliable house then a reliable car. They were close to the lowest price, but just seemed very professional so I went with them. Basically it was a gut call. There was no pressure to do it now. We had to wait at least a month after getting the estimate until we could go forward. They called 1 time to make sure we were still interested. During the siding and gutter installation they ran into several problems caused by the old siding and gutters as well was terrible replacement window. They replaced part of a roof that was the consistency of cardboard. They rebuilt the entire front part of the house around the window. They pointed out where the windows were not installed correctly. They pointed out where the house was built incorrectly. They basically showed me everything before they did it as the unexpected came up. For all of the extra work (quite literally my front window and large parts of the surrounding walls were held together with extremely rotted wood) they charged an additional $900. They probably had more in materials than that, but they felt bad about exceeding the estimate. They were purely professional in what they did as well as their behavior. I never heard anything inappropriate or rude. I have never used them before, but B&R will be my go to company for this type of work in the future. read more

I called B&R Siding last Friday. Byron gave me a reasonable estimate and his 7-man crew showed up on Monday. They put siding on my back porch addition, lattice on the face of my front porch and repaired a window that was installed many years ago and was never right. They worked non-stop and completed the job in one day. My husband and I are very satisfied with their service and workmanship. They were even kind enough to hang my neighbor's shutter that had fallen off in a storm for no extra charge. We highly recommend B&R Siding. LOOK NO FURTHER! I was so nervous when part of my roof blew off! I had no experience with roof issues and was concerned about being taken advantage of. I am so thankful for B&R Siding! These guys are as good as it gets, one of the best contractors I have ever used; I say that as a homeowner since 1998 having had 6 different homes. We had several small leaks in the roof and siding of our new home that became apparent after the most recent tropical storm. Ferdy came out, gave an honest assessment of what needed to be done, what could be done, and what will need to be done in the next 5 years. He also made practical recommendations on style and such and explained how it would affect time and cost. I called over a week ago regarding getting an estimate for repairing the siding on my house. The guy who answered said to text my address to him so he could check it out, which I did. After a few days of not hearing anything, I sent a follow-up message to ask (again) when he would be able to stop by and give me an estimate. I never heard back. I'm not sure why several people in my neighborhood recommended these guys, but obviously they're doing ok since they can afford not to reply to potential customers. I sent an email to B&R Siding, on 12/27/2019, to inquire about having a gutter, downspout, and drainage installed at my home. My email provided sufficient detail, including measurements, that they perhaps could have given me an estimate without even visiting my home. Exactly one month has past. I never got a response. They therefore deserve a poor consumer rating because I have no patience with contractors who waste my time. The very least that B&R Siding could have done would have been to acknowledge receipt of my email and have replied, "We are booked with other contracts and do not foresee an opportunity to assist."
