I have had the worst time trying to get a quote from this company. They are not responsive and downright dismissive. I called and spoke with Chris for nearly ten minutes on October 27, 2022 (see screengrab). He asked me a series of questions about my crawlspace and attic -- as he pulled up my home on Google Maps. He then promised to send me a quote within the next day. He did not. I called back on November 2 (again, see screen-shot). This time, Chris was more curt. He didn't seem to remember chatting on the 27th. Fine. I outlined the specs on my house once again. He, oddly, asked if I sent plans over. It was odd to hear I needed to send plans to get a quote for insulation on a house less than 1000 sf. He never asked for plans on October 27. Overall, he frankly acted putout by the idea of giving a quote. And maybe that's why I never got one: even after calling and answering Chris's questions twice. Can't help but feel maybe C&R is only good for a certain type of client? Maybe friends and family? read more

C & R did a wonderful job insulating our attic. We pretty much had nothing up there and the difference in temperature from the main floor to the second floor was insane. The employees that came to install the insulation were in and out within the hour. They gave us more insulation than we asked for and cleaned up after themselves. I did have to call Chris a few times because I wouldn't get calls back for the quote or to schedule (I seemed to always catch them while they were on a job). BUT he was very nice and apologetic every time. Definitely worth my persistence - pricing and customer service were great! read more

Bought a new home and had a few contractors come out to give estimates on insulating our attic and basement. We went with C&R and had a decent experience. Great communication and fair pricing. After the job was complete, I was very disappointed to realize all of the staples they placed/used to keep the plastic guard down were still all over the floor. I sliced my toe open on said staple, and even contacted them regarding this. I was told he would stop by to get the staples out. After a few weeks of phone tag, I cleaned up their mess myself. I'm talking hundreds of staples. This is not OK when you're paying a company thousands of dollars; one would hope they would clean up after themselves and rid of the trash left behind. Overall they did a great job, however, it's disappointing when contractors do not clean up. read more

I called C&R because their reviews were soooo much better than other insulating companies. My daughter bought a 60 year old house and I wanted him to check the insulation in the attic, the crawl space and an outside attached storage room....especially since the cost of heating is projected to increase by more than 50% next month. Ed looked closely at all of the areas and explained details that we were not aware of before. He advised us on vapor barriers, how best to lower the heating costs and whether or not we should sheetrock certain areas. Ed concluded that we were insulated as well as we could possibly be. I really appreciate the honesty and the guidance he provided to my daughter, a first time home owner! I would highly recommend Ed and C&R insulation! read more

They did a great job using foam insulation to insulate were the second floor of our house intersects the outside of our house. A past contractor did not include any insulation in this area, allowing cold and hot air to flow easily throughout the second floor, affecting both the second and first floor of the house. They were the best price we could find, arrived on time, did a great job, and cleaned up very well. I would use them again and recommend them to anyone. read more

Awful at communication, takes days to reply to text or phone calls. Vague about scheduling. Chris will frustrate you to no end before you switch it up and go with a different company...like i did. I'll admit my bank accounts manager was frustrating to deal with, which flamed the situation, but this company, don't waste your time. read more

I scheduled to have someone come out to give me a quote to insulate the crawlspace of my house in DC; I had to follow-up with them a couple days later to get the actual timeframe, and made arrangements to work from home and scheduled meetings around it. The morning they were scheduled to arrive, during the window I was given I heard from Chris that he had a flat tire and was waiting on roadside assistance which was estimated to take an hour. That was at 9:30 AM; after that, I heard nothing for several hours. I reached out at 12:30 PM asking if he was still coming out, and it was over an hour before he responded that he would not be, and he could not confirm whether he'd be able to come the next day or not. I understand accidents happen; my issue is being kept waiting 4 hours after going to some trouble to be home that day; had he informed me earlier that he could not come there were other ways I would have spent my time. If this is the way they treat their potential customers' time, I would not want to rely on this company to do the work in my home they commit to doing in the timeframe arranged. read more

Timely and excellent work. We needed insulation for our entire house, including both regular and spray insulation. The house is sealed very well now, with all inspections passed. The work was scheduled in a timely fashion and was completed according to schedule. We would definitely call C&R again. read more

Asked for a estimate, it took him 2 weeks even after I asked for a second time. After I selected this contractor a week later on a Thursday night he sent me a text at 10:00 pm telling me he had a opening the following day. I replied the next morning that I was not available. I asked about the following week, he said he had nothing available but did have time the following week . He said he would get back to me with a date, I have not heard back from him since. That was 3 weeks ago. Needless to say I selected another contractor to do the job and I am very confident that it will get done and done right. I would not refer this contractor to anyone. Very unprofessional. I honestly don't know how he stays in business. read more
