The coffee is great and they have amazing options. However, this was my second time visiting a Marylou's coffee shop. The first time I had an amazing experience (Quincy) but this one has really rude staff members. The service just wasn't amazing and the staff members were very rude and abrasive to myself and my friend. When we asked for a recommendation we were brushed off and the worker rolled her eyes. I honestly hate writing reviews like this because I understand everyone has bad days, believe me. I've worked in retail and know first hand how difficult it can be. But the comments to each other about how difficult we were (because we wanted non-dairy milk) were unnecessary and rude. It made us not want to even take the coffee. If I ever try Marylou's again, it WONT be this location. read more

Cute place with all the hot pink inside. They mostly serve sweetened ice coffee drinks so don't expect espresso or a latte. It's definitely a place for people with a sweet tooth. I had to ask for my drink to be lightly sweetened and light on the chocolate sauce and it still ended up being sweeter than I liked. If Starbucks Frappuccinos are your thing then you'll like the drinks here. Step up from what you get at Dunks. They are known for their Funky Fanabla which has a lot of chocolate and hazelnut flavors to it. There is a small parking lot and a restroom for anyone who needs it. Some seating inside but it is tight. Prices are average. read more

Marylou's is well known for their flavored coffees. The regular hot and iced coffee made with flavored beans do not have added sugar or syrup. If you want an amazing iced treat, probably more calories than an iced cream sundae, try the absolutely delicious Minty Lou. It is topped with whipped cream and crème de menthe syrup. I prefer it iced, because the frozen one gives an immediate brain freeze. Both are delightful! The atmosphere in each Marylou's is a bit different, but all are pink. Service is usually prompt but you may need to wait because it takes a while to make some of the special drinks. I wish they had an express line for regular hot or iced coffee that isn't flavored with syrup, whipped cream, etc. You can now make Marylous coffee at home, their coffee beans and ground coffee are sold at local grocery stores. read more

while visiting back east. we stopped in here several times. mum and me are both coffee drinkers. especially in the morning. but if the weather is cool or cold any time of day. Mary Loos coffee was very good dear I say it's a little better then DD across the street. my sister thats not a big coffee drinker even enjoyed an ced mocha with almond milk from here. They have a selection of baked muffns and assorted pastries. and they even had some sort of vegan baked fruit and grain snack that was really good. I got the mango. when i was a kid this place was a service station. and it had a phone both on the corner of the lot. well not much of a novelty back in those days. as phone booths were every where. but if you look at this building and; the outside has not changed at all it looks like some thing you could see at any corner road side in England. read more

Their ice coffee flavors are good. Their customer service is horrible! I go in there everyday and I know they know me but yet they continue to chatter amongst themselves without saying hello! Super rude and not friendly except for maybe 1 person. And that's not the mgr I'm talking about either! And I've seen them talk w friends while busy and still not acknowledging a customer has walked in. Too bad, this place could be much better. So, unfortunately I give the coffee a 3-4 star only bc sometimes it's inconsistent in taste but the customer service gets a 1star. read more

I love Marylou's but this location is extremely hit-or-miss (more often miss). Unless you're one of the regulars you will be met with staff that hardly pays attention to you and makes your drink completely different than what you asked for. The only time I have actually had an accurate drink is when I was dressed for work rather than wearing yoga pants. I wouldn't even be posting this review had the "Barista" not been so distracted with a different customer that she gave me a medium drink rather than a large, not even prepared how I politely asked for, and acted as if it didn't happen. A coffee lover's paradise! I bought two coffees- how sick is that? There were so many flavors that I wanted to try- I just couldn't decide on one. And, as we passed several more stores while on the Cape, I was so tempted to stop and try more. I wish they had these closer to where I live. The selection and service put other chains to shame. In fact, they don't feel like a chain at all. The location my boyfriend and I visited was very busy, but they had several girls working and got through the line in no time. The selection of coffees was amazing. I have never seen so many flavors offered. Our girl was very friendly, and perky. Probably the nicest cashier at a coffee store that I've had in forever. Usually any place that gives me less-than-rocket-fuel strength coffee is automatically consigned to one or two star prison. However, I can't do that to this Marylou's location, which I visited the other night around 7:30 p.m. There, the coffee wasn't too strong - perhaps a plus at that hour of the night - and as smooth as one would expect from the most expensive private brands. Very very tasty. Love the cute building. It's got just enough parking, easy in/out access and the line inside, such as it was, moved very fast. Servers were friendly without being pushy or flirty and the place was very clean. Best thing about this location is that service and product are the same every time I visit, no matter what time of year or how busy the place might happen to be. Pretty good. read more

Mary Lou's is popular coffee shop growing up on the South Shore. As my parents live near this location so I frequent this one the most. I almost always stop here when I am headed to my parent's house. The parking lot can be crowded at times. This location always has a line but it is not as bad as Starbucks or fast as DD's. I like the Girl Scout Cookie (This is a treat) and the snickerdoodle coffee. All their coffee flavors are delicious. I would suggest saying light ice and sugar etc as they do put a lot in the coffee. A former Dunkin Donuts fan I've been converted and can't drink the stuff any more. I love MaryLou's coffee!!!! Today I went into Marylous. As the teens in Weymouth call it- the "dirty one". While about 12 people were in line- a staff member (blond with a braid)- proceeded to flip her middle finger- at another staff member (who was coming in late)- she then proceeded to yell out- "where have you been!? It's been a SHIT show here". She then continued to make my coffee wrong. Much to my surprise- SHE WAS THE MANAGER! Gotta say- love the coffee- but won't be back at that store. read more

I went there with three people for the first time to get coffee and pastry. Immediately there seemed to be some drama among the three staff members, complaining about something work-related. When I asked for an explanation of the flavored coffees, cold and hot, I was met with a young girl that obviously was not happy with her job. Her attitude never changed. Whenever I'm in the area I always stop by for "The Best Coffee In Town". I can't get enough of their specialty iced coffee flavors. They're so tasty and customizable if you're watching your sugar intake. It's also my favorite coffee to take home and brew myself. Because there isn't one in the Boston area I often stock up on several pounds of different flavor beans. My favorites are Cinnamon Hazelnut and Banana Nut Creme -- SO good! read more

In general Marylous is a great coffee company. However this particular Marylous is filled with bad attitudes and inconsistent coffee makers. 9 times out of 10 you get a person that hates there job. Occasionally you get the friendly face. Based off of service I do not recommend this particular Marylous. The one on route 18 is a little friendlier. I only go to this one because I live very close by and often run short on time. Smiles go along way! =) read more

I've been to this location five times so far and can't get enough. Coffee is good, staff is always friendly, and they have a soy milk option. Also, pretty much all the powders they make their delicious drinks with are dairy free. Additionally, way cheaper than Starbucks and more options than Dunkins. Furthermore, I love the fact that this is a local company and hasn't grown to a monster chain yet. Plenty of locations but still mostly just in Massachusetts. I like supporting the little and local companies, especially when they have superior products. I am a big fan. read more

I use to come here as a teenager and walk a mile for one cup then turn around half way home for my second one. This place is a quick stop and is always fresh! They have so many people coming in and out they make coffee every 5 minutes. My personal favorite is Peanut Butter Cup. They also have great bagels and cinamon cake! read more

Great old fashioned coffee shop with really friendly waitresses and loads of flavours! I wish they had these in MetroWest, apparently they are only on the South Shore (with a couple in R.I. as well). The atmosphere is upbeat and the waitresses call you "hun" or "sweetie" ; very cool concept. Also, they sell lotto tickets, newpapers and cigarettes! The only reason why i am giving this place 1 star is mainly due to the fact that the drink that I bought here was good. If there was a 1/2 star option this would be a 1/2 star review for sure. Other than that I had such a bad experience. It was my first time being here and I was recommended by a client that I had to go here and buy "minty lou". I did not know there were two different kinds of minty lou (ice coffee vs frozen?) so when I ordered i only said minty lou because that's what the client told me. (What i intentionally wanted was a "frozen" minty lou--i guess? ) and JORDAN (nametag) was the girl that took my order, gave me the ice coffee version. Her face was stoned cold and unpleasant. And i looked at the drinking, asking her "im sorry...but is there a coolatta or frozen type?" So she said exactly "oh, i didn't know you wanted frozen". Then she turned her back and went to go make the drink but before she walked away i tried saying sorry to her for making her make a drink that wasn't the one i wanted. I said TWICE (once when i told her i didn't want ice coffee version and once after she made the correct drink and i paid her). I said "i'm sorry about that". Still her face was stone cold and rude. She did not bother replying to me for anything I have said. She completely ignored me. Once she gave me back my change she just turned and started going about her business. There was nothing like a "thanks or have a good day"---nothing. She never once said "oh it's alright, that's alright " or anything. Teenager or college student, i hope management here can start working on training their girls to be nicer and friendlier. My first time would also be my last time. I felt like sh** being treated that way especially when i sincerely said TWICE im sorry. For a customer to say that twice and be ignored? Great staff training for sure (sarcasm). read more

so, i used to go to the marylous in hull...till i moved to weymouth...and i LOVE the coffee, the staff the other customers. everyone. i go in daily..sometimes twice and they know me, and my 2 yr old son. i dont have to tell them my order since they ALL know it and remember it...exactly how i want it and are honestly the nicest, funniest group of women around. i honestly think they should start putting them in places other than the south shore though since EVERYONE loves the coffee. they dont get pissy when i use my credit card and dont leave a tip either, which some places do...i've been to alot of different marylous and this one is honestly the best ive been to. read more
