The best brewery and the best food in town. While the smash burgers are world class, the tacos and quesadillas were surprisingly amazing.

Marz is a spacious brewery with lots of great beer and food selections. They offer tacos and burgers on the day we went. I love that you can get 6oz pours for $4 if you want to try multiple. They have a ton of different types of beers including guest beers from whiner. It's a nice ambiance inside, you order at the bar and food comes out pretty quickly. You can get a good view overlooking their brewing facility. The OKC smash burger was massive, you can request to have it cut in half for sharing purposes. There's a lot of parking in front and on side streets. Service was friendly and ordering was straightforward. They occasionally have special events where it gets much more packed. read more

Always a good time and the beer is always rotating. If you liked something they previously had and let the bartender know, they will recommend something. A place that does cbd drinks well and also always coming out with new flavors. The smashburger is one of the best. They also always have some sort of event going on that encompasses different cultures. read more

The newer menu is pretty great. Phenomenal tacos and great smash burgers. The fries are like McDonald's fries if they were made with actual potatoes, really good. The beer as always is beyond what most other Chicago breweries besides Half Acre are capable of...the Schwarz is perfection. Popped by for Saturday afternoon beers and a snack. It is 21+ but we brought our 1 year old and there were other kids there. Just note you probably can't get a high chair. Enjoyed the wide selection of beers on top. We tried 4 and all were fun, original and solidly executed. The 5oz pour option is nice. Got chips and guacamole. Chips were surprising thick, but still had good crunch. The guacamole ran on the smooth side, but was solid with onion, tomato and a building heat. read more

Have you ever been to Marz? No, note the planet Mars, I'm talking about Marz Community Brewing Co. in Chicago. They do fun experimental beers with a mastery of flavors ranging from herbaceous ales to barrel aged stouts, to Sours. I have been to this brewery before, but wanted to try out a couple small pours of two beers they had on the menu. Duchess De Bridgeport: A Sour Red Ale brewed with their proprietary souring bacteria. This is their version of a Flanders Red. I get notes of acid with dried red fruits and some bright pops of cherry and red grape. Maple Vanilla Munchies: A Porter brewed with Maple Syrup and Vanilla. Almost tastes like a milk stout with the vanilla sweetness. The maple flavor brings breakfast vibes, like a pancake covered in maple syrup. ____ read more

Fun place to go to on the South Side, a cool brewery in Bridgeport. If you think there's nothing worth going there for, there is: a brewery with good ass beers and a place to come and chill. Marz is a brewpub a good walk from any CTA station but it's worth checking out. Get some beers and there's also food like pizza and more. There's not a big menu but there's a good amount of beers and snacks. Beer is the main thing to get here. It has a rotating list of drafts that has some bold flavors among it. This was a place we for sure looked forward to. After getting off the bus at 35th, it's a little walk to get to the entrance. We made it all the way here though. It's about $7 a pint. The prices are fair compared to typical craft breweries it seems. I had a Jungle Boogie. This is a pale wheat ale with rooibos tea. First time I ever heard about this tea that comes from Africa. She likes sours, and got the Ruby's Tears. Interesting beer. This is made with coriander seeds, hibiscus petals, and lime salt. Snacks are about $3 or so. Among these are Rosy's Chamoy Dulces. These were sticky and sweet. Also there's pizza but it's expensive and there's no vegan choices. The pizzas smelled good though from what we could take a whiff at from others. Check this out while in Bridgeport. It's kind of out of the way from pretty much anything that's around here This is near a bus stop if you're willing to use public transportation. read more

The ambiance is very fun and there is usually an event going on most evenings, as well as a fun arcade in the back. Highly recommend going on a lotería night Tuesday at 7:30. This was my first time there. Beers are made in-house. Had the Jungle boogie beer. Bubbly creek good to. We had the burgers smash style. Excellent burger. Had a nice crunch on edges. We asked for simple toppings. It was very good. They had a big party going on. The chef came back and apologized for the delay. Food would be up soon. We were understanding. Great spot with awesome beer, food pop ups, and arcade! What more can you ask for?! They frequently have a lot of fun events, I've been to a paczki and karaoke night recently! Parking is easy and free. There's a lot of seating - the place is large!! I really love their CBD seltzer line too. I always get some to go! Marz Has been serving homemade sodas, craft beer and amazing comfort food made to compliment those beverages. The tacos ( In This case steak and fajitas tacos ) were amazing! Tortillas dipped in cheese to give them a great taste and crunch! Portions were amazing! The sauces given to enhance the tacos were a mix of hot and textured. Great taste! The burger was juicy and well prepared! A smash burger that stands up well in a city full of great ones. The bartenders were friendly and helpful. There were some staff who seemed upset to be there never a good thing but being someone who has worked in the service industry there are many reasons one could be less than enthusiastic I get it. Just hate to mention it because the Marz experience was great. The space was young and vibrant. Urban, edgy. A great space. I recommend four stars! Honestly, unless you know or have heard about this place, you would never actually stumble upon it due to its location. This is one of the more "south side" breweries that come to mind. I know there's a few more that are starting to pop up nearby, but it's literally located a few big blocks over from Back of The Yards to give you an idea. It's in an industrial area, and the space is really nice. They have outdoor seating which I'm sure is great when it's warm enough, but their indoor space is also cool. All the staff there were super friendly with us, and the overall ambience inside is welcoming. I like that they have sort of a Japanese-twist to their art, food, and beer. While it's not Japanese restaurant by any means, it allows you to tip your toes into some Japanese fare snacks and what not. We did not personally get anything to eat here, but we both liked our hazy beers a lot, and will 100% return for the vibes and good beer. We just really need o try more here. Also, the beer glasses here are superrr cool! I want one the next time I go. They do also have a little area to purchase things like most breweries. Will be back! read more

Probably the best burger I've had in Chicago. Small menu, but the food packs a punch. I'll admit I was slightly confused about how to order as I've never eaten at a bar/restaurant like this, but the barman who took my order was helpful. The place felt like a community hangout spot, with kids and families around. Kinda surprising since the location is in such an unassuming and seemingly hard to reach place. The drinks are way too expensive. It's cheaper to buy it at Vinni's. You buy a bottle of THC soda for $10 but Benny's it's $5.99 and the people are not very friendly either. I'd expect more from the headquarters of the brewing company. Because there drinks are very good. read more

Updating my review to 5 stars. I really enjoyed my latest experience at marz. The staff was awesome, the beers are truly interesting flavors & I enjoyed how they were handling Covid with the app technology to order food/drinks right at your seat. The only thing is I wish they had flights! They have so many interesting flavors it would be awesome to try smaller options - however I can't complain because they were more than willing to give a taste glass of any you wanted to try before getting a large. We biked over from downtown and it was a great workout with excellent beer! read more

This review is coming in late but it's still worth the review! I haven't been to this place before so the outside was unassuming and wasn't sure if I was in the right place at first! Once you enter though they have a really cool space with some large windows, apparel, and free arcade in the back. During this time you order via a QR code and one of the only cons was that the food items can get sold out so be sure to get here early or at least order quickly. Sad to say we didn't get to try the spam musubi :( However, we did get to try some tasty items such as the - Egg Salad Sandwich - Ube Mochi Waffle - Fries - Loco Moco - Dan Dan Noodles As for the beers we also got a few rounds so I got to try - Yakool - Gay IPA - Lifestyle There were also a couple others that might not be on tap anymore so sad I can't remember their names. If you don't want anything on tap there though they do have cans to go. I loved the beer cans since they had some really cool artwork on them that were so unique! Love this place. Have been a few times over the past few years and have seen the evolution. Stopped in for what I was hoping for, some food and obviously beer. Wasn't sure they had food regularly or not (they do) and definitely didn't think they'd have the Bears game on (they did). They also passed around some free apps. They have large old looking speakers hanging up around the bar, can't wait to hear them crank. Love this place! read more

Great food, great people, and fun events. Keep an eye out for their social calendar they host markets, celebrations like Paczki day, Sox home opener, Krampus day, Drag Story time. And then some weekly events like Lotería on Tuesdays and Karaoke on Thursdays. They have a lot of different beers and a lot of non-alcoholic choices. They also have pop up restaurants for food like Pizza by Grumpy Pies and Sublime Tacos. Sometimes they have special guests like Rosys Chamoy or Elizabeth's sweets selling their snacks. read more

As always they have many great beers on tap as well as a nice selection of canned and battled options. I also like that they offer non-alcoholic cbd drinks. It was great to be able to come back here and catch up with some friends. We grabbed pick up from here last night. It was all great. Also inside looks cool. I plan to return, and order the same thing! We got food for 1 vegan, 2 toddlers, 1 vegetarian, and 2 omnivores. The pizza was really good, it was a thin chewy crust with an amazing tomato sauce. -Marinara pizza (we had half regular half vegan) It was delicious. The vegan side had no cheese, just crust and sauce. Both sides were really tasty! -Besto Pesto pizza. Delicious -2 house salads (one regular, one without cheese). We came here for my boyfriends 30th birthday. After a White Sox game.I called ahead and made a reservation for the group since there was going to be about 20 of us. Unfortunately we were coming after a White Sox game went into extra innings so my original time no longer worked. I called right away and they were so kind and willing to accommodate the change of plans. The group had several large tables and we were able to roam and mingle. We had a kid in the group and the were about to accommodate that as well. The beer and cocktails were excellent. The burger was also phenomenal, really one of the best burgers I've had in Chicago. Ambiance? Retro, modern, hipster. Lots of art. Music? Too loud damn. Service? Only at the bar. Beers? Gangster. Honestly, I've noticed their beers at the grocery purely on the fact it costs on average $16 or more for a 4 pack of 12oz, but would I recommend to my hophead friends and come back for a visit myself? Definitely! Really enjoyed their variety of IPAs they had to offer. Milkshakes, hazies, New England, double dry hopped, West Coast, you name it they got some twist on it. They even have some CBD infused and non alcoholic options as well. Parking? Free on street. No issue. It's situated in what appear to be old abandoned warehouses. Didn't seem walkable from transit, so best to drive or catch an uber/lyft. If you love beer, this one is worth a stop. Can't wait to see what else they come out with next. Marz has great beers and great vibes. We've been a few times - there is free parking outside, or it's a reasonable walk if you live in Bridgeport. When the weather is nice, they've had tables outside on the sidewalk and now that it's getting chillier, inside has a ton of different seating options - at the bar, at a high top table, or in massive booths. Whenever we've gone, it's been busy and lively, but not packed so you can always be sure you can find a seat. The beer is great - they have a mix of standard craft beers and some funkier more experimental flavors. read more
